In Window form. I want to add informative text to the Menu separator. Can anyone suggest how to do that?
for example separator should appear like below
Menu Item1
Menu Item2
----- Separator title -----
Menu Item3
Menu Item4
After Lots of attempts I am only able to add simple separator.
My program goes like this, i have a log in form where in the admin and guest can access, then the form will navigate to main menu form, i have there menu strip, pls help. how can i disable the subitems in the menu strip if the user is 'guest' for security purposes..

How do I make a menu item on a menu strip link to another windows form (like a menu item that links to an about page already created in the project). I know that every coder knows how to do this, but i've read most of the instructions in the world for Visual Basic coding, but can't find ANYTHING I know coding fairly well, so I can modify it, but I can't create it my self.
View 4 RepliesI have combed these forums and the 'net and can't find an answer to my specific problem. My menu strip disappeared (after deleting a small secondary form within my project). I therefore created a new strip and while recreating the menu items realized that the original menu items are still present, showing in my properties list. I have checked my design file as well and the original menu strip is definitely gone but the original menu items are there. I don't have many items so I would have no problem just deleting the original ones but I can't see them to delete them! I have checked and they are all set to visible. I have also moved everything on my form to see if it is behind anything else.

View 4 RepliesIn my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR & nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

I'm trying to filter the results of a xml file. One of the fields I've been requested to filter is the attribute price of each node. The problem is the xml is from a spanish source and the prices are with decimal separator being , instead of . and thousands separator is , instead of .I'm trying to get an xml file filtered where only nodes withprices lower than one supplied appear.
The xml structure is:

I've tried to filter using XPath and Linq2Xml. I've come to the conclussion I have to replace , with . and . with , but I get 0 results.With values below 1000 where there is only , I've got it using:
doc.XPathSelectElements(./RoomStays/RoomStay[translate(@Price,',','.')<=256.78])
But when there are prices above 1000 with thousands separator . it doesn't work, so I tried:
doc.XPathSelectElements(./RoomStays/RoomStay[translate(translate(@Price,'.',''),',','.')<=256.78])
But it returns 0 results (I tried to use replace function instead of translate to remove the . characters but I get an exception).
Using VB.NET - I have a string:
"##RES00012##Some value ##RES00034##Another value"
That I want to split using the "##RES" as a seperator to:
"##RES00012## Some value " and "##RES00034## Another value"
The string.split function doesn't seem to offer an overload to split on multiple characters or array of characters and maintain the seperator, which is required for functional purposes.
I'm looking at simply searching for indexOf("##res") and using string manipulation to do this unless I'm missing something obvious? I've searched SO for a solution but unable to find anything that actually does what I'm after.

So I'm creating a program that takes a picture of a form. The code that i use takes a picture of the form, then saves it to a file. My only problem is that it takes a picture of the whole form.

I am using a split container with docking set to full below the menu but several other programs are set that way without any problems.

When any of the modes is selected, a check sign should appear next to it as is seen in many application. Both the modes cannot be selected together and there is default mode when the applicaition is started.
