Wpf - Binding ListView Throws Window Must Be The Root Of The Tree?

I am attempting to bind a ObservableCollection to a ListView but when I attempt to debug the program VS2010 is throwing the exception "Window must be the root of the tree. Cannot add Window as a child of Visual"If I was to remove the attempted ItemsSource binding the WPF window opens (obviously without any data in the listView). I have create a Sub in my codebehind that parses an XML file and adds values to the ObservableCollection, I then bind the ListView.I have stepped through the code, and the error appears to be in the XAML as the Sub completes without error, the program errors after the CodeBehind has completed, everytime.

Im getting some VB.Net Late binding operations cannot be converted to an expression tree. errors, have search here on the site and can only find solutions to the SQL get data code, not to my problem. I currently have a View in MVC where I pass a single set of data to the view. However, I've come across a problem where I am having to use a LINQ query within a For Each loop in the View to pull out additional information from a SQL View of data from another DB.

I have done a access setting in registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerSettings. Here i have given no access to the "Setting" and when i try to create a linklable in windowform i am getting exception. Ex:

I am trying to get the selected rows from a listview. To achieve this, I did this:
Dim numsel As Integer
numsel = Me.ListView1.Items.Count
For countme As Integer = 0 To numsel

It does count the selected rows, but it always throws out the error saying "ArgumentOutOfRange Exception", or something along those lines. For example, if I selected a row, it will output the results of that row. But the loop goes on. I tried everything I can but to no avail. I specifically want to select multiple rows, and I can achieve that if someone can assist me with this simple "problem" I have.

I am Developing a Application, originally i had divided a form by splitter and on left Treeview and in Right it was DatagridView. Now the requirement is to add treeview in same window. That is either Listview with Treeview in it OR DatagridView with Treeview in It.

I am not the original author of this software project and the code is poorly documented. I am mainly a Java/C++ developer.The program displays the tree structure and allows files and folder to be selected. The program is getting errors with FileSystemTreeView when trying to return nodes on a system with a reserved partition.Here is what is happening: tree.SelectedNode = tree.Nodes(0) 'returns error with system reserved partition.calling, GetDriveList() will properly return all the drive letters - and not throw an error. Only when trying to get a tree.Node() or tree.load() is the error occurring.

I have a ListView, and one GridViewColumn contains TextBox items. I want to put a Label right underneath the ListView, and fill it with the sum of the items in all the TextBoxes. Whenever someone changes a value in any of the TextBoxes, the sum should change, too.[code]...

I have an issue in a project trying to auto-scroll down a ListView (used as Details with columns) when adding a new ListViewItem when the window is minimized. I guess we have to use TopItem property to set force the listview to scroll down.I get two exceptions when the form is minimized: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." "Index (zero based) must be greater than or equal to zero and less than the size of the argument list."
I'm just using standard .Net components (Events/Delegate) with standard way to use them.

I use objectbinding to display client data in a datagridview. The datagridview also contains a counry-column allowing the user to choose the country of the client.Unfortunately, databinding of comboboxcolumn does not seem to work if an own business class is used. Using a simple collection instead works well.Copy the sample code into a new windows project and the programm runs fine. Then comment and uncomment the two lines with "XXX" and the code will fail. Why and does anybody know how to make the sample code work by using the business object class(variable named "newClientListVariable" in the sample)? [code]

I started programming in VBA, then graduated to VB6, and I am now using VB.NET 2008 Express.I have read, in the various posts, that I should keep Option Explicit and Option Strict both on, in order that I use correct VB.NET code and not VB6.I am trying to do that but am totally confused with the results of one of my programmes that was running perfectly with Option Strict off, but now advises:Option Strict On disallows late binding. To me it appears that I am using early binding, but to be honest I am not clear on the binding situation. drag and drop nodes within the same tree (not between trees) when users drag and drop nodes within the tree, give them the option to move the original node to a new location within the tree OR to just copy the original node in a new location (seems complex but I have a month to figure this out). change the system default blue highlight for selected nodes to another color change the system default cursors for invalid and valid drops (instead of the circle with slash indicating invalid target, i want a red minus) and (instead of the little plus sign with little box indicating a valid target, i want just a big green plus sign) add a red insert line to indicate where the node would be dropped within a tree also drag and drop the text of a node from the tree to a textbox add a "folder" image next to parent nodes and a "document" image next to children nodes

why this gives an error at run-time:
Dim mightBeNothing As List(Of String) = Nothing
Dim a As List(Of String) = IIf(mightBeNothing Is Nothing, New List(Of String)(), New List(Of String)(mightBeNothing))
I am getting ArgumentNullException on the second line. If I replace the last part with:
Dim a As List(Of String) = IIf(mightBeNothing Is Nothing, New List(Of String)(), New List(Of String)())
It works - but the constructor New List(Of String)(mightBeNothing) will never be called if mightBeNothing is nothing, so what is the issue?

I debated whether or not to ask in the database section, but decided this was probably more of a VB question, than DB.I'm performing a query on my database and add its value to a DGV. At the moment, I'm just running tests to make sure the base example works so I can expand on it for more advanced tests.[code]It doesn't matter how I add the row, just adding it causes the error. And yes, the AllowUsersToAddRows property of the DGV is set to True, which wouldn't cause this problem anyway, but I decided to be extra careful.

I am using a dataset to pull data from a DB. One of the fields in a row is NULL. I know this. However, the following vb.net code throws a StrongTypingException (in the autogenerated get_SomeField() method in the dataset designer):

According to documentation and this question it should be fine.
