Tree.SelectedNode = Tree.Nodes(0) 'returns Error With System Reserved Partition?
Jun 12, 2011
I am not the original author of this software project and the code is poorly documented. I am mainly a Java/C++ developer. The program displays the tree structure and allows files and folder to be selected. The program is getting errors with FileSystemTreeView when trying to return nodes on a system with a reserved partition. Here is what is happening: tree.SelectedNode = tree.Nodes(0) 'returns error with system reserved partition.calling, GetDriveList() will properly return all the drive letters - and not throw an error. Only when trying to get a tree.Node() or tree.load() is the error occurring.
I have an application which is using aga.controls.Tree.Treeviewadv to shows all information in tree form. i didnt work on it before. its absolutely new to me and I have to get all the parent and child Node's Value which shows in the control.
i want to use a tree view to select different from in an application but i can get the appropriate event to work with all i get is the entire tree view event but what i want is to be able to click on a child node inside a parent so that upon clicking the child node something will happen.
I'm using VB 2010 Express. I'd like to ask about tree nodes - in my application, the user can change the nodes and add more. When I leave the application, I would like to return and for the new nodes to still be there. I've tried My.Settings, but I've decided there must be another way to do it in a file. For each node, I need to save the key and text, and reload it next time.
I have been developing all sorts of programs and have found myself making a password safe program. While making this program I tried to use a listbox to display the passwords and such but have found that to be insecure and hard to manage and so I decided that adding a treeview to replace the listbox would probably be my best option. So in my program the user has an 'Add Entry' option and that loads a form where they enter the information they want put into the program and saved. So far I have it set up like this, They enter the user name in textbox 1, their password in textbox 2 and the website this information goes to in textbox 3. And then I have an 'Add Entry' button and when they press the button it adds the website to a node, and I'm trying to make the username a child of that node, How should I do this because I've been messing with this for about an hour and can't seem to figure anything out. Here is the code for the 'Add Entry' button if it helps:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Form3.TreeView1.Nodes.Add(TextBox3.Text) Me.Close() End Sub
I am very new to VB.net and I am having a hard time figuring out this error. I am using Visual Studio 2010. The error is like this[code]...
I am also attaching all the files need to run this program. Please help me because I have been scratching my head for more than a week without any success.
The inorder traversal is working fine, but when I implemented the Breadth First Search Traversal to show the output of a numbers by level, then I started getting this error because I implemented new queue class (clsQueue.vb)for this.
drag and drop nodes within the same tree (not between trees) when users drag and drop nodes within the tree, give them the option to move the original node to a new location within the tree OR to just copy the original node in a new location (seems complex but I have a month to figure this out). change the system default blue highlight for selected nodes to another color change the system default cursors for invalid and valid drops (instead of the circle with slash indicating invalid target, i want a red minus) and (instead of the little plus sign with little box indicating a valid target, i want just a big green plus sign) add a red insert line to indicate where the node would be dropped within a tree also drag and drop the text of a node from the tree to a textbox add a "folder" image next to parent nodes and a "document" image next to children nodes
I have looked through the internet but I am having difficulty sorting through all the information available (I see a lot of information for Visual Basic 5 and 6, and those codes don't work for me in visual studio 2008). I can email anyone my code I have so far.
Public Class Form1 Private MouseIsDown As Boolean = False Public Sub TreeView_ItemDrag(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As ItemDragEventArgs)Handles TreeView1.ItemDrag
Im writing a program (has been a little while) which will gather files off my computer and make a new partition the right size to store them.I would like this to be automated since it would help if I use it on friends machines.is there a way for me to create a partition from using vb.net and api's etc rather than having to downloading partition manager each time.
I am trying to learn how to populate a tree from a database, I did this same thing back in Vb6 and am trying to learnhow to do it in VB.Net, but I am having trouble with the code. From looking on the web I have piced this together, but I think it may be far off. It just jumps out put leaving the tree blank; and it gives no error message. I put in a try error catch and it cannot convert the data to a double, but even if I take this out it does not work. It is stuck at the line with: dr("CustomerID") <> hID I was using this to check for a parent node, I can take it out, but it still does not work; I am afraid that I am be way off here. I am using the Nothwind database.
Just wondering how I can populate the child node in the following coding (I am able to populate the parent node but still wondering how to list out the child nodes)
===Extra Info=== I have a class to retrieve the Category Table (CategoryID, CateogryName, ParentID) and stored it via List<T>, when I need it, I declare CateogryDAL pass it to CateogryData.
Private Sub RemoveCurrentKey(ByVal name As String) Dim key As RegistryKey = Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey("Software\", True) key.DeleteSubKeyTree(name) End Sub
But it simply wont remove the key tree, How do I remove the whole tree?
Everything is fine except the underlined code says-'Expression is of type 'System.Environment.SpecialFolder', which is not a collection type.' All I want to do is add the node to the treeview. Let's say that I want "My Program" to be the node in the treeview, and THAT node is a folder inside my program files, which also has a folder inside of that which is called "Projects".[code]
I've been trying to get the UNC path for a mapped drive in a web application written in VB.net 2005. I was able to get this code working[code]...
I tested this code out in a test application - just a simple web page. But when I plug the code into my actual project, it doesn't work. In my testing of other examples, I figured out that WNetGetConnection returns a system error of 487 - ERROR_INVALID_ADDRESS. But I don't understand why it would work in my test application but not my actual project application.
I have a hashing method whose operations depend on input to the function. Profiling the program has shown that too much time is spent evaluating this hash method. I want to try changing it into an expression tree, so the inner loop checks can be done once.
Here is a simplified version of the function (I undid some obvious optimizations for the example, and took out any input validation):
Private Function Checksum(ByVal inputValues As IEnumerable(Of UInt32), ByVal declarations As IEnumerable(Of String), ByVal statements As IEnumerable(Of String)) As UInt32 Dim variables = New Dictionary(Of Char, UInt32)
[code]....
I want to create a function which takes the declarations and statements and outputs a specialized expression tree representing a function which takes an IEnumerable of UInt32 and returns a UInt32.Follow-Up:I succeeded, and the speed-up was ridiculous (an order of magnitude). The main things I had to learn where:Use Expression.Lambda and Expression.Compile to get a delegate you can actually use.The Expression.Block factory method has a 'variables' parameter you (essentially) use to declare locals.Expression.lambda has 'parameters'.If you call Expression.Parameter twice, you're dealing with two different variables (even if their name is the same)! Store the result for later usage. Same for labels, etc.The result of a BlockExpression is the last expression in the block.
Am looking for an Algorithms that will take object that a linked to multiple other object and work out the best location to draw each object based on there links.
this would generate a tree like diagram.
So i have Object 1 then hast 10 link, one of these link is object 2 that has 5 link but object 1 link to one of object2s links and such link.
so i would have some thing like this
Object1 ------------ Object2 / / / Object 3
But this is on a 100% bigger scale with unlimited number of objects and links.
how i would go about working out the best location on my form for each object?
I am trying to find a quick, step by step tutorial on on to implement a tree view for my intranet that will show all the computer accounts in my domain. (this is obliviously only step number one, because once i can see them, I want to be able to query information from them.but one thing at a time right?)
