Sep 19, 2010I'm writing a program for my class, which pretty much is an energy cost calculator. It takes 4 inputs from 4 text boxes and multiplies them, and the result is the cost. Well, now I have to come up with a way to check for empty text boxes and display a prompt to enter a number. I've tried inserting multiple codes to display a prompt and to no avail nothing has worked, I also receive the error "when casting from a number, the value must be a number less than infinity" error.

Aug 8, 2011For example, I clicked the Add Text box button, so it added 3 text boxes in the form (I used Dynamic text box so it can add multiple text box). When I input data to one of those 3 text boxes and then Save button has been clicked. It should checked whether the dynamic text boxes are empty or not. If there are empty text boxes, then saving data to db should not be continued and display a message telling the user that empty field(s) are invalid.
In the code below, it saves the data even if there are empty text boxes and I think because it is in the for loop, it checks the text boxes one by one and repeatedly displays the message box that I coded.

Apr 25, 2009I have a program which is almost complete, it gets data that is new or newly modified (well at least since my program last got this data). The problem I have is currently i'm adding this "new" data but i've just clicked some of this data may be in my database already just updated. For example, I have added some user data to my database but a user has just updated their user name - so this is now newly modified! I don't want to add it as new data I want to update my current row in my database. My question is how can i do a SQL query in my access database to see if this row exists or not?

Basically I am importing data from an external source and as I go through importing each for I am doing a for loop to see if the row already exists; this is taking a life time and I feel it is a very simple way of doing it. VS 2005 - Remove Empty Column From Table
Oct 3, 2011I am using TextFieldParser to Read a Tab Delimited Text DataFile. The problem I have is that some times the data file (3rd party provided) contains an extra Tab which therefore creates an extra column. I need to remove this unnecessary column. Some columns will have rows that are empty so I cant just delete the column if it has a blank row, So I think I need to loop through each column and if if every row is blacnk then delete that column.
Here is the code that reads the file, I was going to remove the column from the table called table before I populate the table called dtAll , which is what my program uses

When I check into Visual source safe and get latest version from another machine, VS.net 2008 throws errors.I have to add the references again in that new machine. Mar 24, 2010I am having difficulties populating a checkedlistbox (CLB) based on the selection(s) made in another. It should also be noted that I have a "Select All" checkbox at the top that checks/unchecks all of the items in the first CLB. Here's the code:

The first CLB is populated with an arraylist of values on the button click event. Based on whatever is checked in the first CLB, corresponding values from an arraylist of structures should fill the second CLB.The following code partially works until the "Select All" checkbox is clicked at which point if other values have been selected before "Select All" is checked, the second CLB is filled with the correct number of corresponding values BUT only those of the most recently selected item of the first CLB instead of all of corresponding values of all of the items that were not already selected.
