I m selecting the folder & playing all the files in the media player, of that folder. As u know folder contains all types of files including text,zip,image & so on. So I want that when URL that is assigned to Media Player is .txt,then i assign any default image from resources. I do not want to check extensions- Currently I m checking the extension of each file before paying but i dont want dat.

I have made a program that loads all the songs on my computer into a listview and plays them at random (at least that is what I want) right now I have them moveing to another list and removeing them from the current list so that none are played twice but I can't figure out where to put the code to make it wait until one song stops before starting the next song. is there a media completed function or something that I'm missing?

I have created a media player (vb.net 2005) using the media player control. Plays fine when using open dialog box and url. I have set my player as the default player but when I click on a media file, the player will open but not play. I am sure it has to do with on open event and coding the url to see the selected file just like any other media player out there.

Im trying to open media player (full screen) and play a movie. When i create the file path like so: Dim MoviePathVTS As String = String.Concat("""" + tempMoviePath, " \VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB" + """")
It wont play the file but if i do it like this: Dim video1 = """F:\Movies\DvD\Angels and Deamons\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB"""
It plays fine? the file paths are the same including the extra "" but it just refuses to play. I need the top one because i have many movies in a treeview.

I published a VB.NET 2008 program that contains a Windows Media Player. The code I used to play a wav file was AxMediaPlayer1.FileName = "song.wav". After publishing the program, when it is supposed to play the wav file, I get the following error: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

I have looked all over the internet to find specifically what the title says and i cant find anything that will work and is what i want, it's mostly all vb6. so even more specifically i am creating a program that captures screenshots of the "axwindowsmediaplayer" control at what ever frame or part of the video it's on. i also noticed that there is a command in the little menu when you type in "axwindowsmediaplayer.capture" i don't know how to use it?

I have 28 mp3 and 28 wav files. A Treeview allows user to select "Matthew" then click on a chapter and that chapter plays. What I want to accomplish, is to allow the user to click on "Matthew" in the treeview and the m3u (playlist) plays the entire Audio
Book of "Matthew".
I have researched the forums, tried numerus examps, checked out MSDN examps and Learn and still cannot find a way to accomplish what I want.

I need to get a button to enter the applications subfolder and randomly select 1 file to be played in the windows media player COM which i have put in the form. I have tried creating a shuffling playlist but i cant get it to stop after one file is played (it just goes on shuffeling to another file, and i really do not want a playlist). I manage to create a batch file to be started to randomly pick a file in that folder, but when i do this the file is being played in the systems default player..
