[2005] Commence Coding On A Project That Accesses 100 Tables Of A Database?

I am about to commence coding (actually recoding) on a project that accesses 100 tables of a database, more to added at later time. About half of the accesses are queries with joins and unions. I am more of a coder to not use wizards such tableAdapter, but code more by other methods. I have read some post of this site that suggest avoiding tableAdapters, not to use them in an Enterprise environmentl, but no reasons. I would like to hear from willing to bend my ear, pro or con.

I have a VB.NET solution, just upgraded from 3.5 to 4.0. One of the classes has a private field:
Private _Projection As ICalculatedPath.At runtime, any time the class containing that field accesses that field, I get a FieldAccessException. The first time that field happens to get accessed is a null check in a method, and one of the things I randomly tried is changing the above line to:
Private _Projection As ICalculatedPath = Nothing.When I do this, I get the FieldAccessException on that line saying that the class's .ctor() cannot access that field. I've also tried making the field protected and public, clean/rebuild solution, restarting VS, targeting x86 and .NET 4.0 specifically on every project in the solution, and other non-sensical measures to get rid of this Exception but to no avail. This code worked fine before the upgrade, of course.

By this i can fetch only one row(the last row) of the access....how to modify the above code to fetch all the rows starting from the begining from the database..........

I am redesigning an application that I have previously written which accesses an SQL database, pulls records, creates an object hierarchy based on a bunch of custom classes that I created, and displays them in a TreeView control. When the user selects a node, a tabbed page displays the information about the object underlying the TreeNode selected.
I have since begun experimenting with Databinding to my Objects as I have recently redigned the objects to communicate directly with the datarow that each object is based on instead of storing the values in a private variable thus:

Allowing the databinding management objects to do the heavy lifting of getting the values, displaying them in the controls and writing new values as needed back to the objects (and thus the DataSet) i think is preferable. How can I accomplish this? I have added the Objects as datasources to the DataSources window, added the objects elements to the tabbed pages. How do I bind those controls to the item that is specified by selecting the TreeNode?

Apparently after some trial and error, I discovered when the SQL statement is being processed and filling the dataset, it apparently is taking up too much memory trying to complete the task. I'm running into System.OutofMemory exceptions and other unpleasantness.I'm wondering, is there some sort of program out there to measure memory consumption of your SQL code that is being processed in a Visual Studio application?

One of the things I'm trying to do is work out the total profits for a company, reading from an access database comprising of two linked tables. All the information needed for the calculation in question (Fees, Sold/Bought?, Cost/Income) are found in one form (Financial) and I want to read this information and carry out the required calculations within a sub.
Here is the calculation in Pseudocode I wish to do:
Do
If SoldBought = Sold then
Total = Total + Cost/Income - Fees
Else: Total = Total - Cost/Income
Read Next Record
Loop Until End of Records

Unfortunately, I encounter an error with the above. I get the following error;
"There is no Row at position 0".
How I could get this in motion - I've been stuck in a rut for days trying different things out and I've come to accept that I can't do this alone.

I am populating a collection from some tables in the database which serves as a look-up from controls (combobox) I am using but what I want is rather than hitting the database each time can I just cache the collection and get the collection from the cache? The look-up table may or may not change all the time so I would want to have a way to validate if the cached collection is still valid or not.

I had made a project in VB.NET 2005 with SQL SERVER 2005 used as database. Now i want to make a setup of this project but i am unable to integrate sqldatabase and .net framework in this setup project. Is there any way to do this. Because it is assumed that the client does not have .NET Framework installed nor he has SQL Server on his system and the worst condition would be he does not have even internet connection from where these two setups can be downloaded if we give the condition for downloading these programs from the net if the client does not have these programs installed on his machine.

I am using VS2008 and SQLite. I have created a database and several tables and am attempting to populate the tables with data from arrays.
The following code (example) works fine but stops after it inserts 30 to 50 records. I am running the VB code in debug mode and when it stops, I press pause to see where it is. It stops on "SQLcommand.ExecuteNonQuery()" and when I press continue (F5) it will insert another 30 to 50 records.
I do not get an error message. Is this a timeout issue? How do I keep the loop running to the end of the array?

I have been writing code fore a rather large project in the past mounts And Im beginning to think about arcitecture of the program... Its just a complete mess. I dont know how to tackle so much code..Its beginning to be impossible to debug.Basically Im doing the following prosidures. Importing several a Excel files and getting the rfrequency data from these files..Displaying them in a litview and a datatable... so you are able to edit them..Doing some calculation and exporting the results back to a xls file.Problem is now that im going to add more functionallity to the program,. I have just started coding my Computing project for my A-Level, and I will admit, I am far more experienced in VB6 than VB.NET (as embarrassing as that is to say).I get extra marks for making everything presentable, so was wondering if it was possible to add icons into .NET buttons. For example if I have a button to add an entry to the database, I want a nice Web 2.0 looking icon (for which I already have) next to the text on that button.

I have an ASP.NET project which is a front-end to a database. In addition to the large tables, the DB contains a few small tables to help normalize the larger tables with common values. I have a VB.NET project which loads the smaller tables into memory, using "Shared" (i.e., "static" in C#) member variables, and uses them. I have a call to load the tables in Global.asax - Application_Start. This works for a while. That is, Application_Start runs when I first run my project, loads the cached values, and will correctly keep them in memory for a while.
What I'm seeing (when running my project via Visual Studio 2008 Debugger, hosted locally) is:
A) The Application_Start code will run more than once. Not in a row, but after the user has navigated to some other pages, I'll see (my breakpoint in) another call to initialize the cache, coming form Application_Start. Is it expected?
B) The "Shared" variable that was set to True when the cache was initialized is now False again (which should only happen when the class is first loaded). Similarly, all the data that was chached is no longer present. That is, it looks like VB is unloading all the Shared members. Is this expected?
