I've got 2 levels of users, and I'd like to find a way to open a certain form for each user. I have tried something that I thought would work, but it just opens the same form for all users:

Now I want to add a Login form but can't figure out how to get it to be the opening form when a user starts the program.

View 1 RepliesI have a dataset called KeyData made up of two tables Customers and Orders.
I have two forms, one named MainForm that shows records from Customers in details view and the related Orders shown in GridView called OrdersDataGridView. The other form is called OrdersForm and is populated with the Orders table from the keydata dataset and shows records in details view.
When I navigate the MainForm customer records the correct orders are shown in the OrdersDataGridView. So far so good.
Here's the code that was generated when I dropped the tables within KeyData dataset onto the MainForm:

I have this frm_customers and this button called View/Edit.
What I want is that when i click this button it should ask me a customer Id and then go to that customer id in frm_customer
I've created a very simple form with one button on. I need it so when the form runs, it opens in the bottom right hand corner of the screen regardless of the resolution. It also needs to be always on top of all other applications.
When the buttons pressed, i need it to close all iexplore instances and reopen a fresh instance.
I've tried to search for the answer but to no avail.
I need to stretch the form according by the users screen. My application has to run maximized, but other users may have different resolutions sat and they won't see the whole program or will see it smaller than their screen.
This may affect the resolution, what code would do that?
maybe something like: get resolution (x:y) and set size width and height but I would still need to stretch all the other controls within the form as well.

I got to work and only popup once instead of multiple times. But what Im wondering is It wont do that Unless I run the program AT the same time that is in the Cell. View 2 RepliesI created a program that processes files on a nightly bases for the company I work for. These files are used on a daily basis and very often a file is left open by a user and it causes my program to error out and not finish running. My program needs delete access to these files.
I need 1 of 2 solutions.
1. I need somehow add a check to see if a file is in use and if it is just skip it.
2. I need to make my program automatically force close the files on the users. (note that these are shared by one computer, I can put the program on the computer that the files reside so that it has access to close them out.)

I have started to use VB .net (Visual Studio 2008). I made a small program which starts with form1. This form1 automatically loads form2 and the form1 should close. But when it closes form2 closes as well.
