I dipped my toe in the world of user controls as needed to double buffer a panel control and now want to create a picturebox control with a thicker border. Writing a dice based game, the dice represented by pictureboxes when clicked are highlighted and their border style changes FROM BorderStyle.none TO BorderStyle.FixedSingle, which is where I want to increase the thickness of the border. My user control code increases the border thickness using the code below:-
i'm lost on this code.. i have a picturebox that swaps 2 images, depending on the action, file_red and file_green.. what i'm trying to to is, if a picturebox switches a image or not, to be able to detect that and have textbox8 add a line with the detection.
I want to create a table as displayed in the image in VB.net. How do i do it ?? I tried LISTVIEW with Gridlines, but it has both horizontal and vertical lines, but in the image there is only Vertical lines.
I have a datagridview control on my form. i use this to display data including images. Please how can i set the row height of the datagridview control so the picture can be well displayed?
I am creating an application where when I click on an image I need to mark the place using the x and y co-ordinates given by the click and then after marking I put a red dot/circle on that spot and then I need to save this image to a file including the dot/circle I marked. I have tried saving the image to the file but to no avail, I have been able to only save the PictureBox image and that doesn't include the graphics. It is only the base image. I have tried to save it as a bitmap but have not gotten anywhere with that either. It seems whenever I call the image.save it takes only the value of the underlying image and saves it.

anyone know how to do this, but wit a browse for folder aspect..like i open up my browse for folder window, select the folder i want and it displays the .png file in picturebox..i'm trying to figure it out..here is what i have so far..i have it setup where i'm opening up a folder and loading certain files in my checkedboxlist..but i also want a .png file that is in the subfolders(the only .png file in the entire directory) to be displayed in the picturebox..but the folder is going to be changed depending on which folder is selected..so it can't be a set directory or path..basically has to change like the checkedboxlist.
I have tried to realign the image by down and right one pixel, but still only part of the first row and column are visible when zoomed.I can't find exactly what I'm looking for online.
My computer is an HP-Pavillion dv9600 Notebook PC.
OS: Windows Vista SP2 32-bit

Im doing a mini project and i need to display an image in picture box control when a cell clicked in datagrid view control .the image is linked through the database ms access and im using vb.net frame work.
I am working on a windows form project and having some problem with UserControl Double Buffering.I created a usercontrol and has a background image, then on top of it I have few radio buttons and labels. Radio buttons and labels are all having transparent background as color.However, when I show and hide the User control, I can see the flickering on those labels and radio buttons that has transparent background.
I'm trying to build a dial control as a custom user control in VB.NET. I'm using VS2008.so far I have managed to rotate image using graphics.rotatetransform . however, this rotate everything. Now I have a Bitmap for the dial which should stay stable and another Bitmap for the needle which I need to rotate.so far i've tried this:

As I understand it, the image of the needle should be rotated at angle "angleLongNeedle" although i'm placing the rotated image at 0,0. However, the result is that the Needle doesn't get drawn on the control.
crashed a while ago and i didn't bother fixing it since my new laptop was due to come shortly after, because of this i am a bit out of practise with Visual Basic .NET. My problem is that my application allows a user to draw a rectangle with their mouse on a picturebox called picimage. When the user is done drawing their rectangle and tries to draw another one the previous rectangle gets deleted. I was playing around a bit with the

Since the balls will need some internal intelligence I was hoping to create them as usercontrols.I am having trouble gettiing the control's background to be transparent.Setting the background color to (Web) transparent only makes the background clone the form background color.

I am developing an app that has a treeview on the left in panel1 of a split container. When you click in a node it loads a user control into a tabcontrol that is in panel2. Some of the user contols contain webbrowsers that autorefresh every 15 sec (not under my control). I can successfully remove a tab by a contextmenu but I can still hear the clicking sound of the webbrowsers refreshing. Not sure what to do to completely remove the usercontrol. I also originally had this setup to work without the tabcontrol and just load the usercontrol into panel2 of the split container. Each time a new node was selected from the treeview I would have SplitContainer1.Panel2.Controls.Clear() to remove the current usercontrol. I would still hear the clicking of the old usercontrol.
Normally when user upload a picture, how do u control the size of the picture uploaded by the user?
is there a way to change the size picture (scale the image according my size 300 x 150). Let say an user upload an image with (500 x 300), using picturebox, can i scale the image (500 x 300) to my picturebox size so that it can looks perfectly nice?

I am currently trying to create a generic navigation control with a similar style to the outlook navigation bar. I have figured out how I would be able to dynamically create the bottom part where you select the menu option, but I'm struggling to figure out how I would be able to create the top part, which can contain any user control that the developer would want.
So basically what I'm trying to figure out is, is there a way to allow for a developer to add controls to a specific area of your user control?If there is a way of achieving that then if anyone knows how to do this;In ASP.Net you have the login controls and with one of them, you are able to have different views depending on whether the user who is viewing the web page is logged in or not. Is there a way of achieving this in VB.Net for a user control that could be set up so that I could have the developer able to switch the view in the designer to show them the view for when a specific navigation option has been selected.
The one thing that I have thought of that could possibly cause a problem is having the capability of knowing when one of the user controls has been clicked, while I haven't figured this out exactly, I believe I should be able to achieve this by having an event for the navigation user control that provides the developer a reference to the control.

I'm developing User Control. It have many picture box and I use MouseWheel event on every picture box. Why MouseWheel event work only after every picture box was selected?
I'd like to verify if an image control has an image loaded . If it does , I want to unload that image (and load no image) , but if the image control has no image loaded , I want to load an image . Is it possible ?

So, what I've got is a picturebox and a textbox, I got some code to put text into a picturebox so I could better understand how it works, but what I don't understand is how to put the text on top of the image that is in the picturebox, can anyone tell me how to do that? Here's the code
I know that you can pass a Point array to the DrawImage method of the Graphics object to apply rotation, skewing and flipping, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to calculate the rotation. So far I've got:

This is all just off the top of my head so far, I'm not sure if it's right. How do I calculate the other points on the rectangle, and is there a built-in VB.NET method that's much easier? (Apart from Graphics.RotateTransform, which is slow and also rotates around 0,0.)

I will be detecting the mouse co-ordinates and based on the difference between the co-ordinates from the point of left mouse button click, i will be panning the image. Now the problem is though the image gets Panned, the original image in the Picturebox (PBImage) is not getting cleared.
I am trying to create a custom control using vb.net.I have added a image to the user control and the problem I am having is that when I resize the image, the image seems to move as well.I want to be able to resize the user control height without moving the image on the user control.
everytime I resize the user control, it seems to move the image on it as well.Is there a way of leaving the image where it is without moving it as the user control moves?

i wanna make a fun little Program, I just have a few Questions. On How someone would go about this,Okay i wanna scan a picture and look for a box that has for example 3 across and then bottom line also has 3 lines across. Like This
How would i go about finding This Image ? And or Set of pixels I know a couple ways i Could do this, But it would be a Slow Process Anyone have a suggestion. On How i would Code this,Scan the pix look for a black Pixel then scan next to it etc etc then scan the other line, And if it matches then >Do Something < But that would Be alot of coding and and be Slow, Anyone got an Idea on how i would make it easier
