.net - Change The Default Styling Of Underlined Hotkey Text In Buttons
Mar 18, 2012
In my windows form, I have a button with a shortcut code using &. It looks like below:
It Text property has the value &Sales Bill - Cash
See that its default styling for the highlighted shortcut code is an underline. Instead, I would like to change that styling to Underline + Bold + Different color
Let assume below will be my richtextbox. This is what I have so far:
Title name 1 Some text. Some more text.
Title name 2 Some text. Some more text.
What I am willing to do now is: Only when you mouse over on underlined text - mouse cursor changes to 'Hand' Then you can click on it and message box appears with underlined text. How do I do these two things?
i would like to ask if it is possible to change a hotkey to another hotkey in vb.net?.eg. when keys.k is pressed it will output as if keys.a is pressed..when I press k in a keyboard it will output letter a in any textarea etc.it will go on as long as the program continue running..
for the reason that i would like to create a program that will change a keystroke to another keystroke..anyone familiar with a dota hotkey/warkey?..its just like that..when I press alt+q it will output the num. 7 in the numlock
i want to select the next piece of text which is underlined. You see the rtf of a richtextbox has following code for an underlines text :
uli0 hello friendulnonei
But the normal text looks like underlined. What i want to do is on a click of button the rtfbox should select the next piece of text which is underlined. An example piece of text is :
hello [friend your] house [looks] amazing.
imagine the words within square brackets are underlined. When i first click button1 "friend your" should be selected and on next click "looks" should be selected. Kind of keep moving forward and keep selecting it type of application. I know this can be done using regex but can't build a logic.
I have a program with lots of buttons and textfields etc in my main class (I guess), in the default on called Form1.
Aaand, I want to create a class, but can someone tell me how to change the text on labels and buttons from that other class, since the labels and such exsists in the main class?
i have a simple notepad application where i want a feature of selecting text which is underlined. Usually what happens is when i click a button the app reads a text file and underlines random text in the richtextbox. What i want is on the click of another button to select the text which is underlined. I thought of creating char range, regex all but not getting anywhere. I also dunno how to build a regex.
What i know is since all RTF texts are different we can choose the rtf text instead of simple text to select the underlined text. The rtf of underlined text in my application is this uli0 so manyulnonei where ul and ulnone mark the text as underlined. Now i want to select all such texts which are surrounded by uli0 and ulnonei . I thought of the following method :
1) Create another richtextbox2
2) Paste the text of richtextbox1 as rtf in richtextbox2. I mean show the text in coded rtf (like above) instead of normal rtf.
3) Use simple find to select all the text which is surrounded by ul and ulnone tags
4) process the text.
But this step is very tedious. If anyone could help me in making a simple procedure or build a regex which could process the text surrounded by those tags,
Just a quick question, using Visual Basic 2008, is there a way to change the text of a forms buttons and other objects during runtime so that the text sticks no matter if the form is closed and reopened or not? I can get the text to change, but after closing the window and reopening, the text resets. Is this possible?
What I want to do is to make my application to SendMessage to another application. I can send message perfectly when i set keys.F1 or F2 etc in code but, I wonder, is it possible that user change this key in runtime? I was thinking about doing something like:
If combobox1.text = "F1" then SendMessage(pHwid,WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.F1,0) elseif combobox1.text = "F2" then SendMessage(pHwid,WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.F2,0) etc...
But I have 19 usable keys and alot of events with SendMessage function so code will be so big and there's possibility for slowing application. Is there anything that I can do, like... Dim hKey as STRING? INTEGER? WHATEVER... SendMessage(pHwid,WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.hKey,0) ?
I'm not sure how to go about making my menus and context menus to look like the other menus and context menus in vista.I thought the style would automatically be inherited from vista, but it seems not - and I can't find any sort of 'style' option anywhere either. The image on the left, is what I want the style to be, on the right is what I don't want it to be.
I come from using REAL Studio (formerly REALbasic)on the Mac + Windows.I just got MS Visual Studio and I am using the "Basic" language part of VS. in REAL Studio there is a property pane where you can select a button and make it the default button.I looked at the property pane in Visual Studio and couldn't figure out how to make one of my buttons the default button.
I have three radio buttons defined within a frame (optRptType_0, optRptType_1 and optRptType_2). I set the checked value to true on optRptType_2 to use as my default. I have the following checkchanged event defined for these radio buttons
...
When the form opens the optRptType_0 is checked. I am trying to determine why the optRptType_2 is not checked as that is the default I set up. I tried adding the line "Me.optRptType_2.Checked = True" to the Form Load event but it had no affect and the optRptType_0 is still the entity checked when the form opens.
I have a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn, and want to switch the style of the ComboBox control between DropDownList and DropDown (mainly for the text field editing capability). I'd like to do this on a row-by-row basis (at the DataGridViewComboBoxCell level). How would I do that programatically? Or maybe a different way of asking: How do I access the ComboBox control given an object of type DataGridViewComboBoxCell?
For some reason when I place a button on a form and type some text, the text is too big for the button. Descenders are not shown (i.e., the bottoms of g's, p's, q's, etc.). Does anyone know how to modify the default settings of the button, such as the height or font size? Obviously I can change these properties after I place the button on the form, but this gets old. My default font size is 7.8pt San Serif. If possible I would like to increase the default button height and the font size (I like to use bigger text for teaching in class so those in the back of the room can see).
I have a page that is based on a Master Page. The page has AJAX contolled tabs and on one tab I have 2 panels, each with 1 button. Only 1 panel is visible at a time. I am trying to get the button on the visible panel to be the DefaultButton so that when Enter is pressed the click event is fired off. The issue that I am having is that I get this error no matter what I try: The DefaultButton of 'form1' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl.I have tried setting the Default Button property of the panel to the buttons client id and to its unique id.
The MaskedEditExtender control that I am using is set up for a MaskType="DateTime" and the AcceptAMPM="true" but I need to know how a user can change the am/pm without having to type in A for AM and P for PM? Is there a way I can add arrows or something to this control so that it is more user-friendly when changing from AM to PM? My users aren't going to know that they need to type out the value for it to change.
I have a vb.net app that uses PrintPreviewDialog to print a document. Now I want the user to be able to print to any printer on the network. So, I created a listbox of available printers which works fine. Now, I need to either change the windows default printer to the one selected, or make the PrintPreviewDialog use that printer name.
I am using VB 2010. The default font for forms is Sans with a size of 7.8. Is there a way I can change the default font to something else. I do not see this choice in the options section of the tools menu.
Is there any way to change the default value(s) of controls? How about setting the default value of Textbox.Multiline to True which would make it easier to arrange on the form.
I have a code to print in VB.net. I don't have any problem with the printing as it works, but there is a part which is underlined by green, a warning on "DialogResult = OK". Why the DialogResult = OK is underlined by green colour? The printing work only this underline is making me puzzled
How do you maintain the appearance of a disabled button in VB.Net? Basically, when I click a button, I want its background colour and font colour to stay exactly the same as before I clicked it.
When I change the BackColor for a Form, and then add new buttons, they have by default the same BackColor as the Form itself. That does not show on my Windows 7 development computer, but when I use the program on an XP machine, all buttons appear the same color as the form.
I correct this by changing the button's BackColor property to ButtonFace, but it is a pain to do it all the time and some times it gets past me and a wrong color button goes into the application.
Is there a way to change how this works so all buttons are placed with ButtonFace BackColor by default?
Can we change default vb.net form skins . I mean to make it better?I am not saying to change background colour or image . I am saying to change style, design etc?
I don't know what this is called or I'd search for it since I'm sure it's been discussed. How do you pick a form as the default form that opens when you start debugging? As in, I have a form I want to debug but when I click debug, a different one opens with no means of getting to the other forms.
