How do I detect a ctrl+tab keypress?
Reason for asking: I want to stop a user from changing tabs in a tab control.
In Visual Studio 2008 (windows forms), how can I map a combination of keys (i.e. Ctrl+F) from a form when running the application? Of course I use the keypress event to map individual keys but I haven't done it before for a combination of keys?
View 5 RepliesI know that you cannot disable Ctrl Alt Del for security reasons. I was able to figure out how to disable ALT+F4 in my application though. What I am wanting to know is if anyone can give me some code to where If CTRL ALT DEL is pressed then my application will close. I have tried everything, and I just cannot seem to get the program to recognize if the user presses ctrl alt delete.
So basically I need some code that detects if a user presses ctrl alt delete then if htye did it closes the application.
(I am making a quiz program.)
PS: I am on Windows 7 RC and I also use Windows Vista. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition.
I want a part of my web browser to navigate to the home page when the user performs the shortcut Ctrl-H. I'm not sure how to go about telling the program to detect the KeyUp (or would it be KeyDown?) from anywhere in the program (for example, not just in the Private Sub of a text box but rather for the entire form). Here's what I have so far:
Private Sub Form1_KeyUp(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles MyBase.KeyUp
If (Microsoft.VisualBasic.Asc(e.Control && e.KeyCode == Keys.H) Then
WebBrowser1.Navigate(My.Settings.HomeUrl)
End If
End Sub
I want to be able to detect when the user presses F10 or Ctrl+F10 outside of my program, and upon receiving the key press, it will send text to whatever they currently have selected (e.g. a text box). How can this be accomplished in the simplest way?

View 1 Repliesi know this has to be simple but i can find anything anywhere tonight on how to check if while a textbox has focus if the ctrl+v or ctrl+c was pressed i simply need to use it like such:[code]
View 4 RepliesI have a application using Webbrowser Control, I want to detect the click events for anchors in web page. I dont need code, just the directions to look into.
Edit
I didn't find any solution for the problem but found a hack in Control.ModifierKeys, this works until now!
If my window is hidden or out of focus, how do I detect a keypress? The idea is that it just sits in the tray as an icon until a key combination is pressed and then it pops back up again.
View 2 RepliesI am creating an application that creates scripts to move a mouse and to click where a user wishes to via pre-programmed code and to also press keys where required. I have the code to move a mouse and to manually click anywhere. What I am after is to detect when a mouse button is pressed and dragged and when keys are pressed.
I see that there is the following
MouseButtons.ToString
To detect when a mouse button is pressed, and have it looping in a timer. Is there a better way to do this? I would rather not use a timer. And is there a similar routine to detect which keys are pressed?
I'm trying to detect the Printscreen keypress with the use of a timer. I can't useform1_keyup/down as the focus isn't always on the form.
View 4 RepliesI have two issues. The first is that I want to make a textbox scrolling similar to how credits scroll. I don't want it to move on the form, just to scrolling the text down a line/pixel. I thought I could do it with the "Lines" element, but I'm not exactly sure how to execute it.
The other problem is with my flash screen. Right now I have it set so when a button is click, it goes onto the main form. I don't want to use the button but rather have it so if Enter is pressed at any time, it'll go to the main form. All the solutions I've tried to use involve the "e.Keycode" code, but for some reason its unavailable.
I am using a 3rd part dll file (SolidWorks EModelView.dll, COM file) that has a version of 9.2.0.128. When I add it to the resources for the application, however, the AxInteropEModelView.DLL and InteropEModelView.DLL references show a version of 9.0.0.0. When I install the application on a client machine and try to run it, the application says it cannot find AxInteropEModelView.DLL version 9.2.0.128!

View 6 RepliesI'm making a system where only the supervisors can use the Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the menu (Vista / Windows 7) or start taskmanager (XP)Since my application will not be running on anything less than XP I don't need to worry about 95, 98, ME, 2000, etc. I have this code so far (found on here and a little edit by me) but the Ctrl + Alt + Del doesn't get stopped like I thought it would.
Note to use this from within Visual Studio you might have to untick the box for "Enable the Visual Studio hosting proccess". In VS 2010 it is found in Solution Explorer > My Project > Debug > Enable Debugers > Enable the Visual Studio hosting proccess I've found several ways to stop taskmanager loading but not to stop the menu being displayed. This code is working except for my little problem with the Ctrl Alt Del menu and has been tested by me with VS 2010 .NET4 on Windows 7

View 4 RepliesI know there isnt a shortcutkey property for toolstripbuttons so I'm trying to make the mainForm keydown event listen for shortcuts. But I can't get it to work:
vb.net
Private Sub MainForm_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown
If e.KeyCode.Equals(Keys.ControlKey And Keys.F) Then

So I used some breakpoints and e only contains the ctrl key Not both.

View 4 RepliesI know the WebBrowser's use IE for the core, but no other IE shortcuts seem to work, other than the Ctrl+N (new window) one. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't open IE, and my opened own application, but it doesn't. Any way to prevent this or make it open a copy of my own browser, instead of IE?
