.net - There Was An Error Generating The XML Document" While Forwarding An ArrayList To Webservices
Feb 24, 2012
I am trying to consume the webservice from the .Net environment which was build in Java environment. Currently am trying to forward the ArrayList of type object array as parameter to the WSDL file.Am experiencing the following error message : "There was an error generating the XML document"let me know the whether I need to manually convert the ArrayList to XML . May I know the best procedure to forward the ArrayList to webservice in Java ?
I've got the unenviable task of cleaning up a rather messy VB.Net client. The general plan is to move all calculations to WebServices, and I can see exactly how to do this, but it involves passing a large number of different variables to the WebServices. I chose to use an ArrayList as I've worked with them heavily in Java, and have had no issues passing ArrayLists between the C# (ASMX) WebService and a C# client (Windows Forms-based).
I'm working on a type of p2p program, and I found the need to forward ports. That can get complicated for the average user, so I'm including the option to use UPNP to forward the ports for them. I'm using code I found HERE, and it worked too! then randomly it stopped working. I don't remember changing anything in the codeThis is the entire code. I have the Exception Highlighted in Red. The project includes a Listview (6 columns), three buttons (4, 5, 6), a progress bar, and a background worker.
Imports System.Net.Sockets Public Class Form1 Dim upnpnat As New NATUPNPLib.UPnPNATClass()
I have found some code using google for listview printing. I modified the code base on my needs. I have some problem if the list view more than one pages. It will not stop counting "Generating Previews" of my document. If I press the cancel it was display the data in multiple pages but the same content.
Here is the code Public Sub pd_PrintPage(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Drawing.Printing.PrintPageEventArgs) Dim pd As New PrintDocument Dim CurrRow As Integer = 0 Dim Ratio As Single = 0 [Code] .....
I am using source safe to maintaine my code.Recently I copied my code to another machine. But everytime i build my project i am getting below error:Problem generating manifest. Could not load file or assembly
'D:WorkingFolderProjectSubFolderobjReleaseSubFolder.exe.manifest' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. When i check above manifest file is empty (0k).I tried rebuilding (after cleaning solution) , also tried with copy pasting previus manifest file content.None of above solution worked.
I am looking to write a VB.NET windows app or service to do simple HTTP port forwarding. This is normally done within my router, but I have more forwards to do than the router can support (10) so I would like to do it programatically.
Quite simply, an HTTP request would come in on a port where the application/service is running, and it would automatically forward the conversation to another IP address and port. That way, my router could forward a range of ports to one machine (where the application/service would be running) and the application/service would dole the requests out to the various IP/Port combinations it was listening for.
I have developed a program in exe format & sell it on WWW.?Is there a way to ensure that the buyer does not e-mail the exe file to a third person? In other words, Is there a way to prevent the recipient of your exe file from forwarding it to a third person?EXE file is installer of VB2008-created exe & other compiled files.
I am getting the following compilation errors from Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express on the first line of my code:
Error 1 Newline in constant C: cdotnetdevsrcvbmain estHelper.vb 1 1 Component Sources Error 2 Too many characters in character literal C: cdotnetdevsrcvbmainRtestHelper.vb 1 1 Component Sources
The first line of my code is simply:
' Copyright 2011
It is generating the same compilation error for all my comments. Does anyone know why MS VB Express 2010 is acting this weird? Comments in visual basic are supposed to start with a single apostrophe so I don't understand this weird behavior.
I'm developing in MVC2 using VB.NET and MySQL and ran into a problem trying to convert a simple SQL query to LINQ. SQL Query:
[Code]...
Looking at that query its easy to spot whats causing the error. Simply, the most inner query only returns 2 columns, while the query right above it is trying to SELECT 3, thus the Unknown Column Error. So why is this happening? What is wrong with my LINQ query?
I am trying to write a program that launches a game server, the only problem is that I do not know how to port forward with vb.net or if it is even possible? It is for a game
What I am doing is iterating through all the groups that belong to the top group (Generic reports). Then I take advantage of the GroupPrincipal.GetMembers(True) which will recurse through a given group name. I test to see if the user exits under that group and if true I put the group name in an arraylist.
I use the for each principal in GroupPrincipal.GetMembers to loop through each returned user to see if they exist.
Is there a way to put all the returned users Principal.Name from a given group in GroupPrincipal.GetMembers into an ArrayList? This would allow me to to use Arraylist1.IndexOf to search for user. Which would be much faster then iterating through a returned list using the for each construct.
Sub RetAllMbrs(strUser As String) Dim oPC As PrincipalContext = GetPrincipalContext() '<- this is function somewhere else in the code
I have a set of LINQ queries filtering original datatable (loaded from Excel file) based on user selections in Comboboxes. Then the result is joined with Arraylist to further filter the set. Arraylist is a simple list of strings.
Query:
If (Samples.Item(0) Is Nothing) = False And Samples.Item(0) <> "All samples" Then queryResults = From records In queryResults Join samp In Samples _ On records("SAMPNUM") Equals samp _
I have setup a MS SQL server in my computer and enable the sql server to listen to the TCP/IP port 1500. I can use my vb.net program to access to the sql server from another pc within the same LAN by using the following connection string "Data Source=192.168.1.101,1500;Database=ABC;UID=SA;PWD=123;
But if I changed the "192.168.1.101" in the connection string to the IP address that provided by the ISP (i.e.: "Data Source=<IP from ISP>,1500;Database=ABC;UID=SA;PWD=123 the connection string do not work. I have set the port forwarding function in the router as forward all TCP from 1500 port to IP 192.168.1.101. But it don't work neither......
Then I checked the port 1500 with the webpage below: [URL] It show that the port 1500 is closed! But if I use DMZ function on the router to explose my computer the internet.... the above webpage can checked the port 1500 is opened! And I can successfully connect the sql server with this connection string "Data Source=<IP from ISP>,1500;Database=ABC;UID=SA;PWD=123;" Is that the mssql cannot pass the port forwarding function on the router? I have set the port 8080, 21 forward to another IP on the router and it work fine......
I am testing out packet sending with some friends and I've made a chat program which seems good and all...(not really, its really bad actually), But anyway... The users cant receive incoming messages unless they portforward port 1337 to their computer... How can I get users to receive messages without portforwarding?
Actually values are not stored in that array list permanently. its storing temporarily and then destroying. i want to store that values in that arraylist permanently.
I have an arraylist (arrFirstArry) which I use to populate another arraylist (arrNoDuplicates) preventing any duplicates from being added. This works fine. What I would also like my code to do is prevent adding any partial values which may exist from being added. i.e. my array is like this
I have two structures Public Structure myResearchData
Public batchName As String Public arraylistRData As ArrayList End Structure Public Structure myResearchSubData Public researchDescription As String
[Code]...
Cleared MyResearchData.arraylistRData for new data to be put in but it also clears the arraylist inside MyResearchDataAList and didn't old the contents of the arraylist
What I need to do is read an ArrayList in My.Settings and add another ArrayList to it. The first think I'm trying to do is load My.Settings.Records into myArrayList. I'm not quite sure on the proper way to do this. I've tried things such as Dim myArrayList As ArrayList = My.Settings.Records, I'm not sure if I need New and I'm not sure if I need .Clone or .CopyTo.
Then I have another ArrayList myArrayList2. To get this into myArrayList I've done: [Code] Then to save it back to My.Settings I've done. My.Settings.Records = myArrayList. The problem is I keep on getting Object reference not set to an instance of an object error on the AddRange line. My.Settings.Records is definitely an ArrayList and it will sometimes = Nothing. The objects will only ever be strings.
How can i list all the available webservices by just providing the server name?I require that i will just specify the server name, and then a list will be populated with names of all the webservices available.
Net 3.5 has lots of enhancements on secure and transacted webservices ? Does anyone here have experience of this ? does it add overhead ? Can these webservices (in a LAN environment and assumed stateless / lightweight) be relied upon to be used in realtime (by realtime I mean response of 1 second or less ?). I realise that this cannot be guaranteed as it depends heavilly on what the service is doing and what network it is deployed upon etc etc etc, but assuming there are no issues here, what I am simply asking is, is the benefit of 'knowing' your webservice will return impaired by any overhead that prevent such a webservice from being generally reliable enough to be used in a real time application ?
I am a complete newbie when it comes to working with SOAP/Web Services and I am looking for some assitance.... the code below keeps returning the following error message: "A first chance exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in System.dll"I have utilized SOAPUI to test out the requests to the webservice and everything appears to be fine. What am I missing?
I am developing an ecommerce app that is using the UPS shipping webservice. I have read that it is good to create a singleton so there is only one instance of a webservice at any time. My code for that is below.
Public Class Ship Private Shared sync As New Object() Private Shared _Service As New ShipService
I'm having problems with parsing the XML results that a webservices is sending me. Mostly due to the format this result is sent in. I can succesfully send a request and I get the response back in a string. Now the (truncated) result looks like this:
This is where my problem starts. Because I've found various pieces of code that let me take out the nodes I need. So in the above example <Office> and <code> come out perfectly. But the problem appears when reading the other lines because they start with <td SPACE field=> etc etc. When I readout those lines all I get back is TD.
I need to specifically filter the results based on those TR/TD fields. I'm using an XMLreader and xmlnodetype to filter out the results, but maybe I'm using the wrong method.
How can I get a list of available webservices from a server/directory?For example from:[URL]Which should at least give me ReportService2005.asmx I was wondering if there wasn't a ReportService2008.asmx
i am trying to allot a cell value to another cell value basing on some conditions & finally delete one column.my code is as fallows
Dim i, x As Integer i = 0 x = Me.DataGridView1.Rows.Count[code]....
error i am getting is : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.it is extremely surprising for me the same code has worked nice for me but why & how the same line of code is generating this error.
