Write a function that will take one integer input parameter, create a sequence of numbers stored in an array from 0 to that number, and the numbers are a summation. For example, given 7
New to programming completely,on VB 10 Express. I am in the process of creating a keypad which I can punch in numbers 1- 9 to enter a password. I have 9 buttons for the numbers. I've got the keys to print the numbers into the textbox above but when I press a second key it replaces the first number in the text box.
My question is, how do I make the numbers go in sequence, so instead of (Press 1) - 1 - (Press 2) - 2 - (clears 1)
I want it to go like (Press 1) - 1 - (Press 2) - 12 - and so on...
I am trying to generate autonumber the sequence is like this. From left to right, last two digit from Year, Month in numeric and the last three digit number be from 001 to 999. I tried with the below coding but the sequence is not coming correctly.
I am working on student application form in vb.net. I designed a form with fields like firstname, Middlename, Lastname, age ,____,DOB,Education.Height and Weight. Back end as SQL Server 2005. I just want to generate sequence numbers in textbox using vb.net. While loading the form,i should generate number as '1' and second time,if the form gets loading it shows '2' and goes on...
Im trying to complete code for a program I am running regarding the Collatz Conjecture. Im using Visual Basics 2010.This is the code I have thus far :
Dim a, count As Integer a = TextBox1.Text count = 0 ListBox1.Items.Clear()
[code]....
This code allows me to type in a number and see the length of the hailstone sequence and the hailstone sequence itself. What im not quite sure on how to do is this following: I would like to add the maximum sequence number reached in my program, but I am unsure on what to do.
I am writing a matching program, and need 24 objects to randomly appear, each twice, across 48 spaces. I figured the best way for me to do this would be to assign the positions a number 1 through 48. but the problem is I can't find a way to generate a random number sequence in visual basic 9 .netI found many examples in visual basic .net but the conversion doesn't work. If not some code, many some example programs that either use a random number sequence or randomly sets the position of objects.
I have a timer that basically counts a number up in sequence in a label. On the On Text Change sub for the label I have functions run when the label is at a specific number. Everything works fine, the only problem I have is I have information pulled from an ODBC link to a pervasive database every second, which slows down the program. I have several flash components that run so slowly because of the data update. Now I have tried both using a dataset and coding the query but it is still ver slow and processor intensive, I think its because the Pervasive ODBC link is somewhat slow. Is there a way to have my data pull timer run in the background so that it doesnt effect the performance of the rest of the program?
In a project I'm working on, I've assigned each user a unique ID with the following code. [code] However, I want to replace the number at the end (RecordCount) with a randomly generated sequence of 4 numbers (no 2 can be the same).
I'm trying to write a function which obtains the sequence_number by counting the records in a table that fit a particular criteria and if the result is 0 or nothing sets a variable to 1 but if the result is 1 for instance, the variable will be set to 1 + 1.
This is the code i'm using but i'm not getting the correct result when results are actually returned. For instance, if the result of count is 1, i want "seq" to equal 1 and total (which represents the sequence # assigned to the next record which is entered with the same plan and date) would therefore be 2 which is the result of seq + 1 (i.e. 1 + 1)
I've been looking for a way to create a launch sequence that runs the program while simultaneously minimizing the IDE to the tray.I've been unable to find even a discussion on such.
I've been trying to create a FCS16 (Frame-Check-Sequence) hashing algorithm, but so far the only explanation I've found is this [URL]and I'm having trouble writing the code.
I am looking to write a VB.NET windows app or service to do simple HTTP port forwarding. This is normally done within my router, but I have more forwards to do than the router can support (10) so I would like to do it programatically.
Quite simply, an HTTP request would come in on a port where the application/service is running, and it would automatically forward the conversation to another IP address and port. That way, my router could forward a range of ports to one machine (where the application/service would be running) and the application/service would dole the requests out to the various IP/Port combinations it was listening for.
I have developed a program in exe format & sell it on WWW.?Is there a way to ensure that the buyer does not e-mail the exe file to a third person? In other words, Is there a way to prevent the recipient of your exe file from forwarding it to a third person?EXE file is installer of VB2008-created exe & other compiled files.
I am trying to write a program that launches a game server, the only problem is that I do not know how to port forward with vb.net or if it is even possible? It is for a game
i wanted to create a random number generator that iterates through a series of number between an upper and lower bound. say between 1 and 100. Basically I want the number generator to pick the numbers randomly and then display them until all 100 numbers are picked without any duplicates. so thats easy I can code that. But what I don't know is how to show those numbers in the order they are generated on a windows form. So i have basically a variable that I will let be changed 100 times (or however many times I want, I don't want their to be a size constraint just using 100 as an example) and each time the number is generated I want it displayed on screen (in a list or something not sure what. Hopefully some type of scrollable list) and each successive number also to be displayed in same format beneath it so that I can see the list in its entirety. What type of form control do i use for that? I could do messagebox.show for each iteration but then user is required to hit ok after each iteration and that would obviously be a bad idea if user selected a large number to work through. Anyways, code isn't exactly necessary just point me in the right direction, i.e.what control (if any) to use.how to format the change in data?
I have setup a MS SQL server in my computer and enable the sql server to listen to the TCP/IP port 1500. I can use my vb.net program to access to the sql server from another pc within the same LAN by using the following connection string "Data Source=192.168.1.101,1500;Database=ABC;UID=SA;PWD=123;
But if I changed the "192.168.1.101" in the connection string to the IP address that provided by the ISP (i.e.: "Data Source=<IP from ISP>,1500;Database=ABC;UID=SA;PWD=123 the connection string do not work. I have set the port forwarding function in the router as forward all TCP from 1500 port to IP 192.168.1.101. But it don't work neither......
Then I checked the port 1500 with the webpage below: [URL] It show that the port 1500 is closed! But if I use DMZ function on the router to explose my computer the internet.... the above webpage can checked the port 1500 is opened! And I can successfully connect the sql server with this connection string "Data Source=<IP from ISP>,1500;Database=ABC;UID=SA;PWD=123;" Is that the mssql cannot pass the port forwarding function on the router? I have set the port 8080, 21 forward to another IP on the router and it work fine......
I am testing out packet sending with some friends and I've made a chat program which seems good and all...(not really, its really bad actually), But anyway... The users cant receive incoming messages unless they portforward port 1337 to their computer... How can I get users to receive messages without portforwarding?
I'm working on a type of p2p program, and I found the need to forward ports. That can get complicated for the average user, so I'm including the option to use UPNP to forward the ports for them. I'm using code I found HERE, and it worked too! then randomly it stopped working. I don't remember changing anything in the codeThis is the entire code. I have the Exception Highlighted in Red. The project includes a Listview (6 columns), three buttons (4, 5, 6), a progress bar, and a background worker.
Imports System.Net.Sockets Public Class Form1 Dim upnpnat As New NATUPNPLib.UPnPNATClass()
I am trying to consume the webservice from the .Net environment which was build in Java environment. Currently am trying to forward the ArrayList of type object array as parameter to the WSDL file.Am experiencing the following error message : "There was an error generating the XML document"let me know the whether I need to manually convert the ArrayList to XML . May I know the best procedure to forward the ArrayList to webservice in Java ?
If I have a large number of classes, each similar to the other in certain aspects (they all share a common base class, but each does things differently), and I need to create Windows forms for each to allow easy changing of their values through a GUI? Create one matching form for each object in VS' forms designer, Or Use code to create the forms dynamically at runtime.
#2 makes the most sense to me, because a lot of these objects will share very common features of the form, notably "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. But one object might need to draw a textbox on the form while another might need to draw a combobox. Not to mention, if I want to put icons on the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons, I'd have to do this for each copy of the form in designer, and that sounds like it could get out of hand quickly. But is drawing forms through code sane? VS' forms designer is pretty sophisticated and designed to make life easier. Am I wise to consider ignoring its functionality and diving into the trench warfare of forms design through code? Or are there examples of automating form creation based on an existing object's properties?
My Form has a 3 numeric up down's 2 for the Range "Min & Max" 1 for the Nuber of Numbers that are supposed to be displayed in my TextBox "Mumber" 1 TextBox"tbNumbers" 2 Buttons The first just generates a single Number in the Range.
Dim SingleNumber As New Random Dim NumberRange As Integer = SingleNumber.Next(CInt(Min.Value), CInt(Max.Value)) tbNumbers.Text = NumberRange.ToString
i am making a program in visual basic 2008 and when the program first starts up on acomputer/device i want it to come up with a screen that asks for a serial key. i also only want the serial key (that i give to the person i am giving the program to) to be accepted once.eg. if he copies the program and gives it to another person who takes it home, they have to enter a new one (that i would have to give them). if they enter the same key as person 1, i want to deny access.
I need to know how to use a function to do the following: Create an invoice number using the last two letters of the last name and the first four digits of the zip code.
I'm trying to create a code to open a new workbook..once it's open I want to save it in numbered order. I have everything else in the code complete except how to finish the integer. I know this should be easy but I'm having a total mind block. [code]
Currently I create a thread the following way (the normal way)
Public loginThread As Thread Public loginThreadStart As New ThreadStart(AddressOf LogIntoWhatever) Public callLoggedIn As New MethodInvoker(AddressOf loggedIn)
However, what I want to be able to do is something along the lines of (this obviously does not work, and is entirely pseudocode)
dim i as integer = 0 for i = 0 to i = 25 Public loginThread(i) as Thread Public loginThreadStart(i) as New ThreadStart(AddressOf LogIntoWhatever) next i Public callLoggedIn as new MethodInvoker(AddressOf loggedIn)
Where I could change 25 to whatever I wanted and have that number of threads created. They would all be running an identical sub which does do not make calls of any kind to each other, they don't need knowledge of each other. Is anything like this possible?
