Dynamically Create Another PictureBox On The Form While The Program Runs (to The Left Of The Static One)?

Aug 12, 2011

I've created a form with a PictureBox on it and would like to dynamically create another PictureBox on the form while the program runs (to the left of the static one). I've written this code:

Dim temp As PictureBox
temp = New PictureBox
temp.Image = StaticPictureBox.Image
temp.Visible = True

[code]....

When I run this code I can detect that the temp PictureBox does get created. However, it is not rendered onto the form. It seems like it's there but is invisible.

VS 2005 Keystroke Watch - Create A Program That Runs In The Task Bar Next To The Time

Apr 10, 2009

what I would like to do is create a program that runs in the task bar next to the time. What I want this to do is listen for the key stroke combo of CTRL-ALT-T no matter what program they are in. When they hit this key stroke I want the program to do is hide the task bar on the bottom of the screen. you know how you can change the hight to two rows one row and so on but you can also drag it down so it has no rows and can't see it. Then when they hit CTRL-ALT-T it will then display the task bar with what ever the hight wa set to. Just don't know what direction to go to do this.

Create A Small Program That Runs In Taskbar To Monitor Browser Urls For Particular Words.

Dec 5, 2009

I need to create a small program that runs in the taskbar to monitor browser urls for particular words.We are using it at work to catch people going to certain banned websites in the work place.Right now it works if i hand code each banned site into the code directly and run with a timer:[code]This works perfectly. Problem now is the Admins want direct access to add/remove different sites to the list.There is no way I am giving them access directly to my code (a bad day comes to mind).So I am attaching a small database with a small table to the server and allowing them to add URLS there. I am stuck in how to use this data though.I have tried pulling up the database column into a listbox but can not configure the code to check each line in listbox to compare to each browser window.

I also tried listed the items in a one column datagrid and try to loop through each row to compare each window.I need each browser window to be compared to a list of items and trigger events if a match is found.If your wondering why I am building this, our IS security people are all or nothing. Either no Net or Full Access.Also our people are a bit to smart to be tracked through history or simple blocking methods.

Launch An External Program?

So I have my form, I add one combobox (combobox1) and a button that says "Launch..."Button 1's

Process.Start(ComboBox1.SelectedItem)

When you select a program from the combobox (combobox1) and click launch, it launches that program, for example, cmd.exe (command prompt) when I click the button, it launches the command prompt, but if I select a game (for example chess.exe, for vista), it says it can't find the file, this is because the search for the file is only: WindowsSystem32, how can I change that? OR, how can I add a reference that searches the WHOLE Disk, not just WindowsSystem32?

Use WSH To Create A Shortcut To A Folder In My Quick Launch Toolbar?

Jan 14, 2008

I have a Quick Launch Toolbar linked to a folder of shortcuts.In this folder I link other folders and applications that I use commonly.I'm trying to use WSH to create a shortcut to a folder in my Quick Launch toolbar, but the shortcut isn't being created correctly.I suspect my problem is that, evidently, Windows has two kinds of shortcuts to folders.Using Explorer,I navigate to my Quick Launch folder, and choose the File | New | Shortcut, supplying the name of another folder as a target, it creates the shortcut.Using Explorer, looking at the shortcut in the details panel, Win says the shortcut is of type "Shortcut". Looking at its properties, the type is also Shortcut, and looking at the Shortcut tab, the Target Type is "Folder" and the Target location is the path I supplied. Now create the shortcut another way.Locate the folder in Explorer, and right-click-drag it to the same Quick Launch folder, choosing to Create a Shortcut.Now, Explorer thinks the shortcut is of type "Folder" and looking at it's properties, the Type is Folder (Target Type isn't shown) and the Target does point to the real location.There isn't a Shortcut tab now either.Both are definitely shortcuts to the same folder (I've double-checked), but they work differently in Quick Launch.If you pull up the Quick Launch toolbar and hover over the second shorcut, Windows pops out a sub-menu that contains the folder's contents. However, there is no such functionality using the first shortcut, you would have to choose Explore from the right-click menu to view it's contents.

(Below, the "Work" dir is my Quick Launch toolbar's folder)Using WSH, I can create a shortcut that doesn't autoexpand as follows: Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")[code].....

Program Closes But Still Runs In Processes?

Apr 8, 2011

I have made a program that has an intro screen, moving onto an activity select screen which acts as the main interface to get around the program. After creating the program and installing it on my computer, when I close the program from the activity select screen, using the "X" at the top right corner, the program continues to run under "processes" in the task manager.If I close the program from the intro screen though, it will close everything, including the processes. Is there anyway I can get the same to happen with the game select screen? I can make it work by putting my own "End" button on the form, but id prefer to be able to do it with forms own close button.
