.net - Programmatically Close A TFS Work Item

May 17, 2010

I am attempting to import items from a legacy issue tracking system stored in an Excel sheet into Team Foundation Server. I loop through the rows of the Excel file successfully, and I can create new work items, but they are always in the Proposed state. If I attempt to change the state to Closed, then call the Validate method for the work item, I receive a validation error on the State property - InvalidListValue{4}.

Dim MyProj As Project = store.Projects("MyProject")
Dim WIT As WorkItemType = MyProj.WorkItemTypes("Task")
Dim WorkItem As WorkItem = WIT.NewWorkItem()

[Cdoe]....

this is a CMMI task that I am trying to create and close. I wonder if I'm trying to skip over certain activities required by CMMI

.net - Programmatically Close A ComboBox Drop Down?

Apr 15, 2011

In a Windows Form application (VB.NET) I have a combo box and under certain conditions, when the user opens the DropDown list, I want to display a warning message. All of this works well: In the DropDown event, I check the conditions and if required I display the warning message. The problem is that when the user clicks on Yes on the warning message, I move to another tab on the main form and the drop down list still shows even though I've moved away from the tab containing the combo box.I've searched quite a bit and tried to set DroppedDown to False, call OnDropDownClosed, etc but nothing worked. It seems that when I try to close the drop down list from within the DropDown event, it doesn't work.

Close Forms Created Programmatically?

Feb 21, 2009

In my program it detects if there is more than one monitor connected. It then creates a form on each monitor screen and you just click on the screen that you want the program to run on.

Here's where I'm having a problem. Everything works great, but when I load my MAIN form how would I call those programmatically created forms? I can't just do frmYou.close.

Here's the code I use to create the forms.

Public myScreen As New Point
Public ScreenReady As Boolean = False
Public sX As Integer'holds screen x width
Public sY As Integer'holds screen y height

Actually, the line that read comboBox.Value = o is okay. But still, the combo box cell didn't display the value. Just empty. And sometimes, DataError event raised.

VS 2010 : Programmatically Check Item In CheckedListBox?

Jun 12, 2011

Having some issue trying to programmatically check items in a CheckedListBox.What i am trying to achieve:

1. Pull Staffnames from database

2. Separate each staff member via delimiter

3. checked = true for each item in StaffCHKlist where staffnames = existing StaffChKlist item

i have had a few goes, but cant seem to achieve, this is where i am currently at:

Dim sl As String = ds.Tables("Consignment").Rows(0).Item("StaffName")
Dim tokens As String()
tokens = sl.Split(",")

[code]....

which errors with:

"List that this enumerator is bound to has been modified. An enumerator can only be used if the list does not change."

I have been trying to understand, would programmatically checking an item in a checkedlistbox be classified as list change?

Programmatically Add A Drop Down List In Asp.net With Specific Pre-selected Item?

Opening A Menu And Putting The Cursor/selection On A Particular Item Programmatically?

Feb 3, 2011

In our application, the customer can work with different client projects/datasets. If there are more than a few client projects to choose from, we display them in a listbox to start with, and then it is easy to preselect the last dataset that the customer was working with. However, if there are only a few client projects, we show them as options in a menu instead (think "recent documents"). When the application starts, I would like the menu to be opened automatically and the most recently used client project selected. Is there a way to open the main menu and a submenu of a form and select/focus (but not actually click) an item programmatically?

The old way that we were doing this in VB6 was to use SendKeys to send keystrokes to the form to open the menu and then arrow-down far enough to get to the most recent project, but that is kind of unclean. Particularly, if the user starts our application and then tabs away quickly to work in a different application, the keystrokes may end up being processed by that application instead.

RTF Close - Add A Close Button To Menu Strip That Will Just Close The Currently Opened File

Jan 16, 2009

I'm currently in the process of building a text editor type program, and have run into a brick wall. I haven't done VB in years, so I may just need a little reminder on some things. I have coded everything so far as far as opening files, saving them, changing fonts, colors, etc. However, I'm looking to add a Close button to my menu strip that will just close the currently opened file, and not the entire program, while also ask the user if he/she would like to save before closing the file, and then if they select yes, it will show the save dialog, and if not, it will go ahead and close the currently opened item.

Command Item Template For Grid Doesn't Seem To Work - ASP.NET | Dream.In.Code

Jul 28, 2009

I have a page with multiple RadPageViews, some with RadGrids in them. They all need command item template in order for the user to edit and refresh the grid. On my first page view, the item template works perfectly, poping-up the edit form for the user to edit the data of the selected row. On my second page view, the command item template buttons don't seem to want to work (not even the refresh). If it were just the edit button then i would suppose there'd be a problem with my edit form, but not its that no buttons seems to work (not even refresh). The grid does display the information correctly too.

Here is the code of the pageview who's radgrid doesn't seem to work:

CODE:

I've been going through it many times and i don't understand why it doesn't work. I've also compared it to the working pageview and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference between them both.

Possible To Make List Box Item Height For Item Depending On Amount Of Lines That Item Contains?

Jan 1, 2012

I have a list box on the form which functions as a copy/paste. When you copy something, it is automatically added to the list box as a "clipboard helper". Here is the problem, however: if the text is more than 1 line, the list box does not show all the text.It ends up looking messy. So getting back to my question, is it possible to make the list box item height for an item depending on the amount of lines that item contains? This is a one line sentence in the list box and should take up one line. This is a multi line sentence in the list box and should take up two lines for item height.

Close() Puts Forms Into Crazy Open/Close Loop?

Mar 4, 2011

In a program I'm working on, I want a "Loading..." dialog to close when it can't log in to a site using the username and password provided by the user. Basically, I have the code set up right because the function it is supposed to carry out when that occurs does work, but for some reason it ends up in some really weird stuff happening. In the Loading form, I have it set to do "Form1.Show()" and then "Me.Close()", assuming it would simply show the login form and then close the Loading form. However, when this happens, the Loading form closes, and then for only an instant Form1 shows, and then the Loading form shows and Form1 closes. This happens forever until I stop the debugging, and I can't seem to figure out why. Am I using the wrong method? What exactly does Me.Close() do anyways? All I want to do is close the form and open another
