The game is just simple and it only use simple graphics but why it lags?
I have 50 buttons on my form and have to write code for click of all that buttons. So my question is do I have to write separate codes for every button click event:
In VB2008, the BindingNavigator control had a Update button as its rightmost button. The button is not present in the second beta of VB2010. Will the Update button also be missing in the final release of VB2010?
I've got a DateTimePicker which I 'dynamically' assign the Paint-Event, unfortunately as long as this Event is assigned neither the text nor the DropDown-Button are rendered (but are working).
[Code]...
At disposing of the component I'm removing the handler and resetting the styles. But as long as the Handler is assigned the DateTimePicker renders like a normal Textbox without content, but the button is working and I can also enter values. If I've overwritten the OnPaint() method I'd simply call MyBase.OnPaint() or similar...but this is an eventhandler...I'm totally clueless here right now.
I have a strange problem on one of our agent's pc. He can view a crystal report fine on his machine, but he can't export the report to pdf, or excel etc. even tho he has the programs installed. He is just missing the export button on the report viewer. On all the other agents pcs, the button is there. And on mine as well.
Any ideas what dll's i need to register on his pc ?
Firstly I am using Vb 2008 Express Edition.I have the following code:
Code: Private Sub PictureBox1_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e _ As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.Paint Dim x1 As Integer = 0 Dim x2 As Integer = 50
[code]....
When I run the above code it works , no problem. But I want to trigger it only on my Button_click event.
Code: Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click End Sub
I don't know how to call the PictureBox1_Paint into my Button1_Click
Simple question I couldn't find in the book or online. I have a Button which needs to have permanent text set to 'Calculate' and 'Section' on separate lines. The 'Multiline' option I have seen mentioned does not appear in my properties. I can't 'show the code' as I think it is a properties setting.
I like to have a code which switches cursor to 2 lines by clicking a button (or with checkbox). Both lines starts from the edge of window and at the intersection is the cursor's position.
how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.
I have written a simple script to get a bunch of lines from a text file (they will be filenames eventually) which are split by new lines and puts each one into an array..
Dim ary() As String Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click If My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists("C:MenuFiles.txt") Then
[code]....
The only thing I can do for now is either use the substring function to remove the first character from all array values after 0 but I don't like that because it's messy and what if the split "works" as I want it to one one of the lines and knocks of the first character when I don't want it to.
below are a few lines from my text file(10929 lines)I need to read each line and insert into MS Access. each line is a column in my table and the record changes on every 8th line or to be more specific(on every 8th line you will see a number [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.....] this is where another record starts,

I am trying to translate some VB codes to C++. And I am not quite sure what this line does.
IIf (n& 1=1, 0.0005, -0.0005)
I know what IIf(logic, true_value, false_value) does, and I guess the & operator is supposed to concat two strings. But I am not sure what the intention of using "n & 1 =1".
I'm making a tv player and I want to make vlc to play my streams, i need also the code to record the stream and the code for fullscreen. i will be more detailed in the following picture
This is for vb.net I've been working to develop a system which involves computation. What I've been trying to develop in my program is, I have a textbox where user will enter a numeric value, there is a button and a label below and in the first place the label should be set to zero. Everytime you enter a numeric value in the textbox and click the button it should add the value in the label and should save the value in the label so even if you exit the program whatever the last value displayed in the label should remain the same when run the program again,I believe it requires a database to save the value.Basically its like with payment system which saves the total amount of all payments made.
This is how should it works, say for example,if you will enter 1,2,3 it should save the sum value which is 6 in the label even if you close the program and when you run it again and enter another value it should add to the current value which is 6.
In C, Pascal, and C++ it is possible to use the FormatMessage function to retrieve a "friendly" error message that corresponds to a COM HRESULT error code. This question contains sample code that demonstrates the C++ approach. Of course it would be possible to build a managed C++ assembly to perform this function for C# and VB.NET code, but I'm wondering: is there a way to translate COM error codes using the .NET system libraries?
I need to be able to write data to a binary file. No problem - I have a test app I've knocked up that reads and writes to them fine, however the format uses C0 and C1 control codes, and I have no idea how to write them properly. The SOH, ENQ, DLE, NUL type of thing. I'd post some but they are non-printing. I know what they mean and what they do but have no idea how to write them.Basically we are writing our own system that generates test data files for import by another program. My files that I write have the correct number of fields and correct value and formats but because I can't get the tags to write they data is imported incorrectly. I've spent days reading up on it but can't find what I'm looking for.Not dealt with binary data files in VB before so this is all new.
