Add Mouse Up Event To Scrollbar?

May 25, 2010

I create some vscrollbars dynamically and add scroll event handlers to them. I really want to detect when the user has finished scrolling with a mouse up event but this doesn't seem to be part of the scrollbar events.

Mouse.Click And Mouse.MouseDown - Delay The Mouse Down Event

Apr 15, 2012

I have two custom action listers. One that handles Mouse.Click and one that handles Mouse.MouseDown. My question to you is, can I delay the mouse down event so that it does not intefere with the code of the Mouse.Click event? I have tried adding a timer and waiting x amount then setting a bool value to true, but the code executes to fast and it skips the other code.

I am new to VB.NET, Now i'm working with Events in VB.NET, I have two event methods, Mouse Click and Mouse Down for a single button in a form, I have displyed a message in each of these methods but only mouse down event is triggered. Why Mouse Click is not triggered? Similiarly I Did the same for Mouse Enter and Mouse Move for a particular button, in this case both the events are triggered.

C# - Mouse Event Fires When The Mouse Over Child Control?

Aug 24, 2011

I have set the controls mouse enter and mouse leave events. My problem is that the mouse leave event fires if I mouse over any of the child controls (like the name box for example). What I need is for the mouse leave event to fire when my mouse leaves the entire control, rather than firing when I mouse over any of the child controls. Here are the events as I have them so far:

Private Sub DeliveryControl_MouseEnter(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.MouseEnter
Me.removeImage.Visible = True
End Sub

VS 2008 - Control A Loop Event With A Scrollbar?

Jun 4, 2010

I am trying to use a scrollbar to move forward and back through records in a datatable and to populat an entry in a field to indicate that individual records are selected. In short i want to represent a the sum of a specific field of those records selected. Of course being a scrollbar it has to work in reverse and unselect records when the user moves it backward.

The purpsoe of the scrollbars is that there will be five of them and they will represent years. The records on the other hand represent projects which have an output (say money saving). The idea being projects selected in year one then cant be selected in year two. I am planning to do this by assigning a value that indicates they are already allocated to the previous or other years scroll bar. I can set up a loop to go through the whole data set and do this for a year (and have), but i want to use scrollbars and make it interactive.

Two Textboxes - Scroll Event To Trigger Change Of Position Of Scrollbar

I am currently working on a VB.Net program where there are two parallel multiline text boxes like this.

I would like that when one text box is scrolled, the other is scrolled as well. I was wondering if there was a Scroll event that could trigger the change the position of the scroll bar of the two text boxes.

VS 2008 : Handle Some Event Related To When The TreeView Scrollbar Appears Or Disappears?

Sep 12, 2009

I have a custom contro which inherits directly from Treeview. Is there any way to handle some event related to when the TreeView Scrollbar appears (it does this when the height of the stack of visible nodes exceeds the height of the control) or "disappears"?

I realize if could set up a function which checks the ItemHeight * Nodes.Count, and compares this to the control height. However, this seems clumsy. I have been exploring the object browser (and anylized TreeView with Reflector) and have not found what I am looking for. If there is a way to access the ScrollBar Property at ALL within TreeView, I have not found it.

Textbox With Vertical Scrollbar - Get The Scrollbar Position Without Having To Reposition The Carat?

Oct 21, 2010

So with the stock Textbox, I set the Scrollbars property to Vertical. This is great if the text in my box never changes; I can scroll up and down while the box sits still. If I'm running a background operation that logs output to the box though, the scrollbar resets itself to the top every time I append text to the box.

I know I can set the Textbox.Selection property (or use the Select method) to reposition the carat in the textbox, make note of that position in a variable, then append text, reset the carat, and use the ScrollToCarat method to reposition the scrollbar where it belongs. That's a really (ridiculously) long way around. Anybody know if there's another/better way of holding the scrollbar position, short of actually building a custom control (or using a Textbox and a separate Scrollbar)? It never hurts to try. In a worst case scenario, you'll learn from it.

Interface And Graphics :: Listbox Event - Scrollbar That Comes With ListBox Is Too Small For Touch Screens

Jan 6, 2011

The scrollbar that comes with the ListBox is too small for touch screens, so I use my own scrollbar instead. But when you do this on various forms you end up repeating a lot of code. So my solution was to create a custom scollbar that has a property I can set to the control I want it to be a scrollbar for. In vb6, I can use the withevents keyword to get access to the control's events so that all the scrollbar related code can be in the custom scrollbar object I created, except...I had to create a refresh method for the consuming code to use to let the scrollbar know when the number of items changes. The scrollbar doesn't need to be told how many items there are because it has access to the control, but for a listbox there is no event to tie into when an item is added/removed so not 100% of the scrollbar related code could be encapsulated.

Mouse Event Handler Bug?

Feb 23, 2011

I have a VB6 app that works correctly in win7.

I downloaded and installed VS2010 yesterday, and converted the app to VB2010.

The app works correctly except for one problem. I have a label array which has two event handlers defined, one for a double click and one for mouse down.

A double click is ignored and the mouse down event is raised. It shows the left button was clicked once.

If I comment out the mouse down handler, the double click event is raised and it shows left button was clicked twice.

What i want to accomplish is allow a user to double click an array element on the screen which then saves the number associated with that element and then click somewhere else to copy the data or alternatively, drag and drop the element to the new location.

The drag operation on the source element always triggers a mouse down, but so does the first of the two clicks in a double click.

It seems that none of the other newer events are raised, eg GiveFeedbackEvent, QueryContinueDrag, DragOver, etc.

So, how do I trap a double click and a drag start without using the mousedown event for the dragstart?

Capturing Mouse Down (form Before Control) Event?

Sep 23, 2010

I'm working a program where I need to capture the mouse down even at the form level. I need this to happen regardless of where the mouse is clicked. The standard mouse event (see below) works fine if the mouse isn't over a control. However, when the mouse is over a control, the control gets the event before the form. I can generate an event to capture the mouse event for every control and the pass the event on, but that is ugly and requires way to much maintenance. Isn't there a way to tell vb that all mouse events go to the form?

Form1_MouseDown(ByVal
