I am trying to code the calculate button on a form to add the values that were entered from the user and displayed in a list box. For example, the user enters grades of 90, 95, 88, 74. I want to get the sum of 347 so that I can continue with my calculation to display the average.
I have an array list that stores Hexadecimal numbers, I want to Xor all of the values in the array list e.g. array list contains 3A, 4B, 5C; I want a output textbox, Textbox1.Text = 3A Xor 4B Xor 5C
I have been searching everywhere but I am unable to find a reference to what I need.I have a huge number of entries where each entry is composed of three long numbers:
a b c 1 2 40 2 1 40 1 8 12 3 9 13 8 1 12 ect.
in my algorithm I will find that I need to disregard values in column a which will then lead me to disregard values in column b. I initially thought that I may want to use three arrays and just change the disregarded value to a null value with each iteration. find function that would allow me to not have to loop through the entire array every time. This lead me to want to define the columns as lists where I could remove specific values from the list and reduce the size of the list with each iteration of the algorithm. The problem then is how do I say, listb.remove(8) and at the same time have the corresponding values for lista(1) and listc(12) removed?
I'm working on a Website in Web Developer 2010 where the content of a text box is checked against a list of values to find a match. There must be an exact match for the user to be allowed to proceed to the next step of the wizard.
Is there a shorter method to do this using the VB 'If' statement, other than specifying each condition individually?
I've tried something similar to the following, but for the amount of values it would be more practical if there was a shorter method.
If TextBox1.Text = "User1" Then Label1.Text = "Ok, That username is valid. Click NEXT to continue" LinkButton1.Enabled = True
I was useing VB a lot for some years ago and now I have started again..then, think I was useing VB3 or VB4 there was a property on ComboBox and listboxes that allows only to select the values in the Combox.. Not able to write own values..
<div class=PhorumReadBodyText>Hi, I have a problem with adding of items to generic list, problem is when I insert 1. item to the list, everithing is ok, but if I insert second item, first and second has same values.
code looks like that (asp.net 4.0): </div> <div class=PhorumReadBodyText> </div> <div class=PhorumReadBodyText>Partial Class _Default Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
I cannot figure out how to set an array to one of two sets of numbers (there will be more later), every way that I have tried throws some kind of error. I have tried to Dim the array inside the case statements, but then I cannot use the array in the For Each, which makes this worthless. [Code]
I'm using VB.NET on Framework 2.0. I'm looking to quickly group a Generic List<> by two properties. For the sake of this example lets say I have a List of an Order type with properties of CustomerId, ProductId, and ProductCount. How would I get the average of ProductCounts grouped by CustomerId and ProductId in VB.NET ?Unfortunatly I cannot do this at DB level (which would have been easy). Also I cannot use LINQ or Lambada as Im on Framewwork 2.0. So I need to do this at application level in VB.net. The list is returned to me sorted by CustomerId and ProductId so I guess with a few loop sI should be able to create a average value for but there must be a cleaner way to do this?
We have a generic List(Of Product) that must be sorted on two or more properties of the Product class.
The product class has the properties "Popular" numeric (asc), "Clicked" numeric (desc), "Name" string (asc). In order of naming the properties we want the list to sort.
How can it be sort with an lamba statement? If have found to sort the list based on one property.
This is turn populates my dropdownlist, when a user selects a value, it is then populated to the remaining textboxes on the remaining forms with a session call...
Through this session it populates the one value, is it possible to display the selected value but also include all other dropdownlist items in case they want to change thier selection?
I have a checkedlistbox full of values, and then a list of values that's a subset of of those in the checkedlistbox. I need to check all the items that are on the list--preferably without repeating through both of them.
This is a 2 part question about list comparisons. I see lots of threads on comparing two separate lists, but I need to know how to compare values in a single list.
Part 1:I have a bunch of string values that I am first splitting and then adding to two separate lists. The strings look something like this... 3-ABC, 6-DEC, 11-RFG, 6-ABC, 12-ABC, etc... So, with the code below(vb) I am splitting the numerical portion of the string and putting it into myLeadQtys(saved for later). I then take the rest of the string and put it in another list (myLeadVals):
Dim myLeadVals As New List(Of String) Dim myLeadQtys As New List(Of String) Dim strMtextValue As String
I want to create a class that has a list of possible values that can be used.Example: when you create one like this: Dim a As ClassName = , a list will pop up in intellisense.or when the class is used as a property on a usercontrol, you can click the combobox and pick from the values. Here is what the value list looks like for the Color class: vs value selection.PNG
I'm sorting data in a dictionary there each key has a list with like 3 items.I want to get all the data from the dictionary to a datatable with the key and the list items on the same row.
all i manage to get is "key" System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.Data.DataRow]
i'll guess somehow i will loop trough the list and add all elements to a string?[code]...
I have a 3rd party object that gets passed to one of my methods. The object contains 20 or so string members. How can I easily list all of the string names and their values?
Im having a hard time trying to pass the values from a list inside of a class. Im trying to display multiple lines of values from a list inside of a class. My "client" class stores multiple lines of values into a list(of class transaction), with the number value(num) counting each transaction that it adds to the list.
Code: Public Class Client Private m_tranlist As New List(Of transaction)[code]....
im trying to display each line that is stored in the list in a label, and im having major trouble. I know all of the results are added into the lists, but how do i call the list in my main form in order to display each line of all of the values? Would I have to look up an index or something?
I am trying to populate a form from a list of values. I am fetching data into a recordset. I have a textbox that displays the date, however, when I try to assign a date value I am getting the error message that I cannot set the textbox value to a textfield. Is there a way to assign the date value to the textbox?
I want to retrieve value from database.........I have a sql table with (Username [Primary Key] , Friends, dob, contact ) columns; table name is MyFriends
Now Code is...... string qry = "select Friends from MyFriends where UserName='hrs'"; da = new SqlDataAdapter(qry, connection);
I am using MS Access 2007. There are 2 tables in my database. One is for payments and other is for departments. In payments table, there is a field for departments. In my VB 2010 project, i want the departments field in the payments form to be in list box. And during the program is running, i want the option to add new departments and as soon as new department is saved, the list in payments form should also upadte.
I am creating an instance of a Generic List collection and I am surprised to find that I can't add more than one value to it at a time. I was thinking there was going to be something like what you can do with arrays, where you can add a group of values to it at creation. I saw the AddRange method, but that seems to add another collection to the end of this collection, which is not what I want. So my code is:
vb
Dim MyList as New List(Of String) MyList.Add("John") MyList.Add("Bob")
