Adding Click Events To Array Of Buttons Created Dynamically

My process is as follows:I access a database table to determine what questions to ask (20-100 questions).Each question is display along with, possibly, a "done" button.My code to do this is as follows:
If datareader("Who_Second").ToString = lbl_Your_Position.Text Then
Dim b1 As New ImageButton
b1.ID = "btn_second" & datareader("QCC_Q_ID").ToString
[code]....
What I need to do for each button is strip out what the "QCC_Q_ID" is for that button and insert information into another table of the DB.My partial code for this is as follows:
Sub btn_done_clicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.ImageClickEventArgs)
Dim MyDate As Date
Dim QCC_Q_ID, Position As String
[code]....
Two problems:1. My sub is never being called, so I can only assume that my "addhandler" is not working.2. QCC_Q_ID = e.ToString.... That doesn't seem right - is it? What I need to do is get the name of the button (btn_second13) and get just the number out of that (13). Is there any easier way to keep track of that ID?
Am on creation of touch screen UI system.And am generating button for selecting products
Under certain category.
--> array of button creating dynamically And placing in TABPAGE when user selects Tab for category. The button will be created with the name of products, Under the category selected.
{
'the way am creating controls.
mybutton(j) = new button()
mybutton(j).top = 100
}
How can i get the Click event of those buttons-( in the array)....??
For example, when I click on the btn(5) I would like the textbox1 says: "5"
[Code]....
Using VB 2008 Express.
Attaching code to buttons when they're clicked is easy when they're static buttons on the form; just double click the button on the form designer and add code to the event.
I have a series of buttons that are generated in a control array, so they're generated in a class, and in the form there are no buttons until runtime.
So newbie question with a probably simple answer...how do I enter code for the click event for buttons that aren't there until they're instantiated as a class at runtime?
I am adding a grid of buttons to a form at run-time, and all of then use the same Handler.My question is : Is there any way I canadd the TextBox at run-time ?I know how to but without it on the form, the IDE isn't very happy about the "MyClick" Sub - TextBox1 is not declared......
' some logic here to make nice rows and Columns of buttons
' with different .Text and .Name
Me.Controls.Add(btn)

I have this code.
Code:
Public Class Form1
Dim NPB As Button
Dim x As Integer
[code]....
As you can see, when I open a program from my menu, a new button will be created with text similar to this, "C:Program ". The button it self will not do anything. How can I create the method at the same time the button it is for is created? Also how can I change the text do that it gives me, for example, CCleaner.exe instead of the whole target path?
I have made an click event for a button which creates buttons dynamically and I added events to the dynamic buttons by using addhandler but it says it the button is not declared. Here is the code for dynamic buttons:
Private Sub MenuBtnNew_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MenuBtnNew.Click
[Code]...
I'm a new programmer to vb.net, so apologise for what is likely to be ignorance.
I'm building a simple gui for a database interface, with many parent and child items within it. Upon a form I create buttons depending on how many items (parents/children). I've got the creation of the buttons thus:
For RowNumber As Integer = 0 To NoOfRows
Dim Buttoni As New Button
Buttoni.Location = New Point(LocationX, LocationY)
[Code]....
But I'm struggling with a way to delete the buttons to make way for a new set to replace them... I can delete a single one upon its click, but I'd like to delete all of the buttons that have been created in this way before re-creating them.
I have VB 2008 Express and I am also new to VB. My problem is I cannot find any assistance with creating an Event that is attached to a Control that I inserted on a dynamically creeated TabPage. I call the "create_tab" sub (below) that creates a New TabPage and add some Controls (Button, two textboxes). Now, that I have the TabPage (and there could be multiple), I want to bind an Event to these items. So when a user Clicks on the Button in TabPage1, for example, a Sub executes where I can manipulate the data contents of the textboxes. Here's My code that creates the tabpages dynamically.

I am currently developing a simple menu application that has a control array of buttons and I am having a hard time with re-sizing the form and centering the buttons. These buttons are created at compile time (with parameters from an INI file) and my current centering algorithm seems to slightly set them to the right. I am using the "button.location = new Point(...,...)" method but after reading about this it says the values locate the buttons left upper corner rather than center, thus accounting for the slight offset to the right.
My two questions are this:
How can I perfectly center these buttons at compile time? I have tried accounting for the difference by subtracting half of the button's width but the button width and point properties seem to be incompatible and the button gets heavily offset.
And... my other goal for re-sizing the menu is to have the buttons perfectly expand and contract when being re-sized. It seems as though anchoring is ineffective when the buttons are created dynamically so I have been forced to write ratio algorithms... Is there a way to get anchoring to work?
Here's what I have in the load up :
MyControlArray(i).Location = New Point(CInt(((Width - ButtonWidth) / 2) +_
(ButtonWidth / 2)), CInt((Height - MyControlArray(i).Height) / 2))
I have already tried:
New Point(CInt(((Width - ButtonWidth) / 2)), CInt((Height - MyControlArray(i).Height)_
/ 2))
I'm developing a website in visual studio 2008 using (asp.net/vb)I have to allow registered users to build pages and add controls that are already defined by the same userMy problem is how to build this page dynamically?In other words, I'd like to make like any CMS (e.g. Joomla). CMSs allow us to make new pages and add our controls then save them..
View 1 RepliesIm curently writing an app for windows mobile (so its using the compact .net framework)It has a loop which finds out how many images are in a folder, makes a picturebox for each one, then sets the .image property to the appropriate image. It also adds the name, size, location etc.What I dont know how to do is add a mouseclick event to it?I probably would have a subroutine already written in the code which could be used, or would it have to be a new one made for each picturebox?
View 1 RepliesI have a form that I am adding a set of buttons to. I am adding an event to those buttons. I need this event to function slightly to determine what button was pressed.
I need the button to simply set a string variable equal to the clicked buttons text so I can determine what button was pressed.
How can this be accomplished?

I need to be able to add buttons to a tool strip at run time. As of now I've been able to get the buttons to display with a nice little picture just how he wants and some text under it. Just can't figure out how to "enable" the click event for these buttons. Obviously I need them to do something rather than just sit there looking good and this is where I'm stuck. Right now I'd be happy for a message box to come up saying yep I'm working as I could then work with that. This is what I have for code so far... this is just to get it working I'll work on the actual code later.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim btnSomething As New ToolStripButton
btnSomething.Text = "Test 1"

OK, so my project is like this:The user selects a folder from their computer that holds a list of subfolders. The program then dynamically inserts a check boxes per subfolder within a seperate cell of a Table Layout Panel.I want to and a simple Click event to each checkbox control so that when a control is clicked, it counts all of the check boxes on the form that are checked.How do I go about adding the event handler to the checkboxes when they are created. Here is the code that adds the checkboxes:
Dim iCol As Integer = 1
Dim objFolder As Object = Nothing
For j = 0 To rCount - 1 '0 to dynamic number of rows
[code].....
How can you add a click event to dynamically created menu item?I thought I could do something like
Loop through all the items in the Menu1.DropDownItems then create a mousedown even on the item and execute an action based off that.I'm new to VB and was wondering what logic to use. Will that even work? How will the events be saved through the life of the application?
I can usually find the answers to most of my questions via the Google Gods, but not this time.I have a form that has a TabPageControl and on that page a collection of labels and text boxes via a usercontrol.
On the form I have a button that allows the user to create a new tabpage, when the code adds a new page, it automatically adds the UserControl collection. I can't get my head around how to access the objects on the newly created tabpage.
What I need to be able todo is take the index of the tabpage that has focus and translate that against the UerContol name, but I havn't a clue how to do it!

I have a Winform application where i added picturebox's to a flowlayout panel dynamically from code. I have successfully managed to add a handler for doubleclick and click events the problem i have is that when i add both together it only seems to work with the click event and not the double click. where I could bee going wrong? Iam using VS2008 .NET 3.5 my code looks a bit like this :
Public Class Class1
Dim WithEvents picturebox1 As PictureBox
Private Sub Brochure_Creator_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

View 2 RepliesI am writing an Automation program to control an MS Acces applcation. Here is the sequence of events:
- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_import on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
I have a solution in Vb.NET 2008 windows Form with ToolStripMenuItems, but I need to implement menu navigation without any mouse intervention.I only found mouse events In ToolStripMenuItems, MenuStrip, etc.All MenuStrip and ToolStripMenuItems are created programatically, reading user permissions from Database, then add a handler to manage the events, but the client don't want mouse interaction, he wants only keyboard inputs only ![code]
View 2 RepliesI created a button control ,, by double clicking only the process was going on,,when iam single click the button nothing is to be happenend,,so i want to change into single click insted of double click........here my coding is given below.......

Here the coding is all are correct but the problem is when double clicking the button only it was worked ,,,iwant want to change it into single click
So, I'm at the stage where I have created checkboxes through the codes.Not through the toolbox.
They are added correctly to the form when I test it.Checkboxes can be checked or unchecked correctly.
But my problem is this:I want to use events mouseclick or mousehover with those checkboxes.
I have a form with a textbox to enter a number and a button called "Create". When a user enters a number and clicks create the form gets populated with the number of buttons entered in the textbox and the title of the buttons are labeled by consecutive numbers. For example if you enter 5 the form will populate with 5 buttons labeled button1, button2, ...button5. When you click on these newly created buttons a messagebox will popup stating the buttons name. Basically I need to know how to create events and populate them with code I guess dynamically.

View 1 Repliesuser control, I'm dynamically creating an arrary of several labels within a groupbox on the controls form. This is done in the load event.The user control is then placed on the form of mainapplication and then run. My problem being that the labels are invisiblen I launch the app. The visible property for the labels is set to true during the creation of the controls.
