I'm developing a website in visual studio 2008 using (asp.net/vb)I have to allow registered users to build pages and add controls that are already defined by the same userMy problem is how to build this page dynamically? In other words, I'd like to make like any CMS (e.g. Joomla). CMSs allow us to make new pages and add our controls then save them..
I have a number of user control dynamically added to a page, and user interaction with these dynamically added user controls need to be handled by the control's parent. Is this what is referred to as "event bubbling"?How do I do that in VB?
I have VB 2008 Express and I am also new to VB. My problem is I cannot find any assistance with creating an Event that is attached to a Control that I inserted on a dynamically creeated TabPage. I call the "create_tab" sub (below) that creates a New TabPage and add some Controls (Button, two textboxes). Now, that I have the TabPage (and there could be multiple), I want to bind an Event to these items. So when a user Clicks on the Button in TabPage1, for example, a Sub executes where I can manipulate the data contents of the textboxes. Here's My code that creates the tabpages dynamically.
I'm trying to add a "panel" with controls dynamicaly. Something like the code below, Clicking "Add" button, displays a "Panel" with the controls(which are within a table), the number of "Education" someone can enter is unlimited. I know how to capture the data, but i can't figure out how to implement/code this,
I am working on a project for a handheld in Visual Studio 2008 where I need to add a group of labels to a panel that correspond to a record on the database. The record is a "Pass/Fail" Record. So, if the record is a "Fail", the failed items will be added below the main group of labels; therefore, many child groups of labels will be added below the main group, which is theoretically the header record. I am using a second panel to add the failed items. My issue is how to dynamically add, name, and position the failed item labels and panels. Below, I have included a sample of what I am trying to accomplish.
I have been set a project from school to design snake in VB.Net but i am struggling to dynamically add the user control which acts as one of the dots in the body of the snake. Every time i add a dot on to the snake the previous vanishes. I assume this is due to me overwriting the previous one by creating a new instance of the object but i cannot find a way of adding a new one in.[code]I have tried using body(i) and other ways of adding a new instance of the object but am stuck. The subroutine will be called up when a new control is needed.
Im curently writing an app for windows mobile (so its using the compact .net framework)It has a loop which finds out how many images are in a folder, makes a picturebox for each one, then sets the .image property to the appropriate image. It also adds the name, size, location etc. What I dont know how to do is add a mouseclick event to it?I probably would have a subroutine already written in the code which could be used, or would it have to be a new one made for each picturebox?
I'm having a lot of trouble trying to add a new control to a dynamically created TabPage at run time, I have viewed many threads with similar help requests and cant seem to make the codes work!
Here's what I've got:
Dim albumscount As Xml.XmlNodeList albumscount = config_doc.SelectNodes("component/config/menu/album") i = albumscount.Count - 1 Dim albumtitle As Xml.XmlNode
I have a User Control which returns a table of data, which in some cases needs to be looped, displaying one on top of another. I am able to dynamically add a single instance of this by placing a fixed placeholder in the page. I am now trying to work out how to add more than one, given that I don't know how many might be needed I don't want to hard code the Placeholders. I've tried the following, but I am just getting one instance, presumably the first is being overwritten by the second
My HTML <div id="showHere" runt="server"/> VB Dim thisPh As New PlaceHolder thisPh.Controls.Add(showTable) showHere.Controls.Add(thisPh) Dim anotherPh As New PlaceHolder anotherPh .Controls.Add(showTable) showHere.Controls.Add(anotherPh) How do I make it add repeated tables within the showHere div?
I'm trying to add a DataGridView to a Split Container Panel. I am able to add the control, but it just places it on top of the old one. What I want is to add it below the existing one. How to do it.
I have a WinForms application that I need to dynamically add controls to at runtime. I searched for this and I was initially led to the TableLayoutPanel (TLP).
I have a Data Repeater to which I need to add x number of images depending on their existence in the database.I need the images added within hyperlinks for Javascript functionality. In order to dynamically add the hyperlinks and images I have placed them within a panel in the data repeater and am adding them in the ItemDataBound event. The problem is that only the first image is being written to the datarepeater.[code]
I am dynamically creating and adding dropdown controls to DevExpress XtraGrid. That works fine and I can add a dropdown control to any column I wish.My main problem is that I need to have the first element in the dropdown control displayed. But after I dynamically add 3 dropdown controls to the grid, only the last one has the element displayed. The previous two do not.Although, I add the elements
this is what the code looks like:
vb.net Dim column as DevExpress.XtraGrid.RepositoryItem.GridLookupEdit For i as Integer = 0 to dsSometing.Tables(0).Rows.Count - 1 column = New DevExpress.XtraGrid.RepositoryItem.GridLookUp
[code]....
The code will go tru and add lets say 3 dropdown controls, set their .DataSource to datasets I need, but it will only show .NullText of the last added control.
I have a form with a textbox to enter a number and a button called "Create". When a user enters a number and clicks create the form gets populated with the number of buttons entered in the textbox and the title of the buttons are labeled by consecutive numbers. For example if you enter 5 the form will populate with 5 buttons labeled button1, button2, ...button5. When you click on these newly created buttons a messagebox will popup stating the buttons name. Basically I need to know how to create events and populate them with code I guess dynamically.
My process is as follows:I access a database table to determine what questions to ask (20-100 questions). Each question is display along with, possibly, a "done" button. My code to do this is as follows:
If datareader("Who_Second").ToString = lbl_Your_Position.Text Then Dim b1 As New ImageButton b1.ID = "btn_second" & datareader("QCC_Q_ID").ToString
[code]....
What I need to do for each button is strip out what the "QCC_Q_ID" is for that button and insert information into another table of the DB.My partial code for this is as follows:
Sub btn_done_clicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.ImageClickEventArgs) Dim MyDate As Date Dim QCC_Q_ID, Position As String
[code]....
Two problems:1. My sub is never being called, so I can only assume that my "addhandler" is not working.2. QCC_Q_ID = e.ToString.... That doesn't seem right - is it? What I need to do is get the name of the button (btn_second13) and get just the number out of that (13). Is there any easier way to keep track of that ID?
I have code that reads file paths froma text file into my application for an mru list on my apps main menu. The menuitems are added programatically from each line of the text file. How can i attach events to these menu items?
I have made an click event for a button which creates buttons dynamically and I added events to the dynamic buttons by using addhandler but it says it the button is not declared. Here is the code for dynamic buttons:
Private Sub MenuBtnNew_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MenuBtnNew.Click
I've got a class where I pass in a panel reference and in that panel I'm then required to draw multiple other panels that represent my objects. The issue is that when I go to bind dynamically click events to these panels I don't have reference to the Form of which I want to popup on the click event.
The reason for this structure is so that I can redraw my class dynamically and reattach certain events to each object.
Is there any way to do this without moving my classes logic outside of the Assembly or is there any way to attach my click event to a piece of code logic to a sub in my WinForm?
I am trying to create a program, where the user click a button and this will add a custom control and then drag and drop them on the form.
What I want to be able to do is add multiple controls (by clicking this button) and for them all to have the same events. So basically they can add as many as they like of this control and then click on it and drag it anywhere.I know in vb6 there was the use of the control index but I am not sure how to do this in Visual Studio 2005?
Am on creation of touch screen UI system. And am generating button for selecting products
Under certain category.
--> array of button creating dynamically And placing in TABPAGE when user selects Tab for category. The button will be created with the name of products, Under the category selected.
{ 'the way am creating controls. mybutton(j) = new button() mybutton(j).top = 100 }
How can i get the Click event of those buttons-( in the array)....??
I have the user control that is loaded dynamically. When the user save the data by clicking on the Save button, a raise event is passed.
Public Sub RaiseCloseEvent(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) RaiseEvent Close(sender, e) Debug.Print(String.Format("The control {{0}} was closed by {{1}}.", Me.Name, sender.ToString)) End Sub
In the save button I have called the RaiseCloseEvent as follows:
RaiseCloseEvent(sender, e)
Now, how can I close the user control form? Any Idea? I have used VB.Net language.
I am working on a site it is in VB.net, I need to createa mutliline text box. I am able to increase the height of the textbox as number of characters increases using java script, however when page get refreshed or loaded again then textbox size comes back to the default height.
I'm converting a VB project to C#, and I notice that in vb it will call a function like:[code]on the asp.net source page or it will never hit the function. Is this a necessity in c#, or is there something that I'm overlooking or missing? Basically, is there a way in c# for it to hit that function like in VB without adding the line above in the source page?
I have combobox and I was wondering how do I call one of its events, for example,MyComboBox5_SelectedIndexChanged. I have no idea what to put in for its sender and e arguments. In other words; how do I complete the following statement
I have created a form in a project with some controls on it and put code behind those controls so they all work as I want them to. I now decide I want to group those controls within, say, a Groupbox to visually isolate them from the rest of the form.
So I select all the controls, delete them, create the new Groupbox, paste the deleted controls back and all looks OK. However, all the controls have now become "detached" from their associated events. The events still exist in code and the controls still retain all their properties but the controls no longer function.
Is there a way to "refresh" the project so that the controls are re-attached to their events or do I have to go through each control and do it manually?
