Adding Progress Bar While Loading Image List To Listbox?
Aug 7, 2011
I am trying to add Images using open file dialog and folder browse dialog and populating the image list to listbox. While adding these Images I need to show the progress bar for every image it loads.
I am trying to get that but when the value of the progress bar say something around 25 0r 40 it is stopping at that point but I need to show the progress bar until it completes the 100% and then populates the Image list.
Here is my code:
Private Sub AddImages_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles AddImages.Click
If Not Directory.Exists(Application.StartupPath + "Backup") = True Then
I was wondering if this was possible, if so can you point me in the right direction? "Display the progress of loading a txt file into a listbox with ProgressBar".I am basically loading a file (blah.txt) which contains several strings each on their own line:[code]I would like to display the progress of the listbox loading within a progress bar.
Basically I am playing around in vb and trying to build a simple photo app. Here is an example of the problem I am facing. I have 3 pictureboxes. The first one is an image of an album the second picturebox shows a thumbnail image of picturebox1 when it is clicked and then the final picturebox shows a blown up image of picturebox2 which is the thumbnail. I can do all this fine when just using the first set of images. The problem that I am facing is that when I run the program and lets say I clicked on picturebox2 which is a thumbnail image it shows it in picturebox3 before picturebox1 is even clicked. I am trying to do this by adding tags to each separate image but have failed miserably.
I want to make a program similar to this one: [URL]. I already have the ListBox ready. But how do I load the images? The image name works like this: -File1.package -File1A.jpg -File1B.jpg So the .package is removed and A.jpg or B.jpg is added.
I am using file.readalllines to read the file into a string, then using listbox.items.addrange and splitting by vbcrlf to insert the items. Is there a way to reduce the lag it causes for loading huge lists?
I have a small program that talks to a server, grabs the content from a website using a php webscraping program and then places the results in a listbox as a string. My problem is taking this string and creating a list from it. Each item in the string is followed by a | (pipe). I have included the code that I've tried below:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim str As String Dim start As Integer = 1
I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..

Private Sub WebBrowser1_ProgressChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserProgressChangedEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.ProgressChanged
[Code].....
Value of '-1' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'minimum' and 'maximum'. on e.currentprogress
I am trying to run a routine to load a gridview from a sql table. I would like a progress meter to run until the grid is loaded. I have tried using the background worker component...but I havent found a really basic example of how to run the progress meter on the uiwhile loading the grid in the dowork event.. is this as intricate as it looks? I just have the meter tied to the tick event of a timer

I want to use a progressbar while loading, which means I need to COUNT. vb.net Dim mysqlCount As New MySqlCommand("SELECT COUNT (*) FROM tableName AS tableCount", mysqlConn)
Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '*) FROM tableName AS tableCount' at line 1
I really don't understand why this occurs. The connection works fine btw. So no issue(s) there.
searched the web but cannot find any type of code that will allow me to implement a loading circle.or can vb2008 allow me to change the look of the original proress bar?
Ive been programming in VB6 for years, i figured its time for an upgrade. Here's what im doing, and what the problem is:
Im loading a bunch of pictures on top of one image. They are all PNG files, and some of the images have transparent edges, and some semi-transparency within the image itself.
So basically, i need to be able to load these images on top of the other images, and still maintain the transparency.
Is this possible in VB08? This is one of the main reasons i moved to 08 from vb6, more things possible including multithreading.
I'm storing images in a List Of Image. When I want to clear/remove all the images it contains should I dispose & set each item to nothing before using .Clear? Or can you just call .Clear? I'm doing it like this for now...
' remove all images in list of image named "images". For i As Integer = 0 to images.Count - 1 images(i).Dispose() images(i) = Nothing Next images.Clear()
I have a picture box on SSRS. I want to load a picture to it, for exam from D:\Pictures\TV1.jpg (actually user will decide it by using OpenFileDialog)I have set the Source to external and in Value expression I tired
="D:\Pictures\TV1.jpg" and Also ="/<d:\pictures>\TV1.jpg"
but my picture box shows error picture in both cases.
I'm trying to add text to the progress bar. Or basically percentage. This is so far i found, but no luck. I also can't find a problem because everything looks correct to me. [Code] Any suggestions?
I am trying to create a simple Word doc that when the user presses the button it takes the information in the boxes and tosses it into a template style paragraph. But my issue is that I have two combo list boxes as seen in the picture. I want to have two values in the drop down list as seen in the labels next to them but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do this in Word 2007. In Visual Studio this is much easier but I am work and need to snap this out for the folks at work. Is there an option that I can choose in the properties where I type in the values for each drop down or do I have to add them in at run time?
I have a form that I will be using to copy directories of photos from memory cards to locations on a computer. I would like to add a progress bar to the application to show the progress of the copying in real time. This is the code that I use to copy the directory in the first place Dim SourceDir As String = SourceTextBox.Text Dim DestinationDir As String = DestinationTextbox.Text If System.IO.Directory.Exists(DestinationDir) Then My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyDirectory(SourceDir, DestinationDir,) Else My.Computer.FileSystem.CreateDirectory(Destination Dir) My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyDirectory(SourceDir, DestinationDir)
I am attempting to read the results from a SQL query into a List(Of) and I can see the List.count while adding items to the List increments, however in another part of my code when I am attempting to read the List the List.Count returns 0. My List is as follows:
I am trying to read a text file into a text box, and show the progress bar loading. Sometimes if the text file is big, i don't know when it will finish reading it. This is basically the code i use to read a text file, but i don't know how to show the progress bar.
How can I make a progress bar that shows when I acces some items on a listbox. It fills only when I click on listbox items, and then gets empty imediately.
