Transparent Ruler / Bar Type Control
Nov 14, 2011I am looking for a VB control that operates as a more or less transparent or semi-transparent ruler or bar that can be scrolled up and down the form over an invoice or letter, so that the user can see what is under the ruler/bar and thus stop scrolling when he reaches a certain point.
To give a bit more detail of what I am looking for - such a bar is used when someone is setting the focus on a line of a long list of items so that they know where they are all the time. Most people would use a ruler on a paper list to keep track of how far they have progressed down the list. It would be nice though to have the "ruler" or bar as semi-transparent so that the user can see under where he is at on the list or form.
Add Word Processor Controls To Form?
Jun 15, 2009Im creating an application to create rich text documents. As a part of of I have to add a text input field that can produce MS Word like features so that I can do word processing on the writing text.
At the moment VS studio provides, only Rich Text Box . But it doesnt provide that kind of features of the word processor.
Is it possible to add a word processor control to the Form if possible how can I do it? (I need to do this using the features of VS 2008 TS)
Close Button On Word Processor For Class
Mar 14, 2011I'm creating a simple word processor for class but I'm having some trouble on the close button. The Close button is supposed to close the file that the user is working on but not the word processor itself. How would I go about closing the document that the user is working on?
Here is what I have so far:

This gives me an error message "Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'Object' to 'Integer'." When I'm not using Option Strict On the code seems to work but VS gives me a warning message, "Variable 'intfile' is used before it has been assigned a value. A null reference exception could result at runtime. I'm not sure what value to assign the 'intfile' Object.

Jun 7, 2011I am trying to create a simple Word doc that when the user presses the button it takes the information in the boxes and tosses it into a template style paragraph. But my issue is that I have two combo list boxes as seen in the picture. I want to have two values in the drop down list as seen in the labels next to them but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do this in Word 2007. In Visual Studio this is much easier but I am work and need to snap this out for the folks at work. Is there an option that I can choose in the properties where I type in the values for each drop down or do I have to add them in at run time?

Adding Images From Database To Word Document?
Sep 28, 2009I have a MSAccess table with 4 columns(of text type)and another column of Oletype. I have programmed in VB.NET such that a query will returns a dataTable with all the columns from that table What im trying is to put those contents on a word document with all the columns. For which I have tried to loop through the contents of dataTable and tried to attach all those values of all columns to a string and then I have added that string to a WordDocument Bookmark as shown below.

Microsoft - Adding Tables To Word Document?
Aug 3, 2011I am trying to make an application that will take the information entered into the program and generate a quote sheet using Microsoft word. Right now I am having trouble creating tables in the word document. The user can choose to quote between 1 to 4 different products. If 1 product is quoted, then it will create a 6x3 table. If 2 products are quoted, then it will create a 6x5 table with the 3rd column separating the 2 products. If 3 or 4 products are quoted then it will create another table under the first table and follow the same rules as the first table. The program works perfectly if I quote 3 or 4 products but when I try to quote 1 or 2 products then it results in an error.

Asp.net - Adding To Page Control Collection From Inside A User Control?
Feb 12, 2011I have an asp.net usercontrol which represents a "popup" dialog. Basically, it's a wrapper for the jQuery UI dialog which can be subclassed to easily make dialogs. As part of this control, I need to inject a div into the page the control is used on, either at the very top or very bottom of the form so that when the popup is instantiated, it's parent is changed to this div. This allows "nested" popups without the child popup being trapped inside the parent popup.
The trouble is, I can't find a safe way to inject this div into the page. A usercontrol doesn't have a preinit event, so I can't do it there, and calling Page.Form.Controls.Add(...) in Init, Load or PreRender causes the standard exception "The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases."
I thought I had found a solution by using. ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, Me.GetType, UniqueID + "_Dialog_Div", containerDiv, False) which seemed to work well normally, but recently a coworker tried putting an UpdatePanel inside the dialog and now she's getting the error "The script tag registered for type 'ASP.controls_order_viewzips_ascx' and key 'ctl00$ContentBody$OViewZips_Dialog_Div' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . Only properly formatted script tags can be registered."

Dec 3, 2010I am programmatically creating a Tabcontrol and adding Tabpages to it. To each Tabpage, I am adding 2 Pictureboxes (Testpicture1 and Testpicture2). The amount of Tabpages depend on the amount of frames in my .tif file. So, each picturebox holds an image (frame) from my .tif file sequentially from˜0 to totalpages. All good so far. I can click each tab and correct images are displayed in correct order. The problem is that when I drag a control (picturebox) and try to add it to Testpictue1 or Testpicture2 it does not work correctly. At first I thought the it didn't work at all, but when I checked each Tabpage I have found that all pictureboxes got added (draped) to my last Tabpage, in this case Tabpage4. So this is puzzling. Even though each Tabpage holds 2 Pictureboxes and they display the correct images yet the picturebox is added to the Testpictue1 or Testpicture2 of the last created Tabpage? [code]
