I'm amateur with asp and .net, but i need create a page to generate xml/json output response similar to java servlet.what is the best way to do ajax response with asp forms? Asp page form with [code]
when i try to do this and load the webforms page, i get this error, even tho the path is correct. what can i do to get past this? i've tried running the aspx page from the root as well. nada.
I wrote a page Page method in my aspx page. in web service method I need to call FindControl method return textbox and get text box value. But my findControl will take MasterPage object to iterate.
see my code
<script type = "text/javascript"> function ShowCurrentDateTime() { $.ajax({
[Code]....
How to pass Master Page object or Page to Page method?. So I can use in Sared method.
Is there any way I can access Textbox value directly in Page method? I need access couple of controls in Page Method.
I'm trying to page and sort my DataGrid which is inside a ModalPopupExtender but I can't page it in any way, already tried with <Triggers>, put the UpdatePanel inside, outside, in the middle, and it does NOT work. Modal popup does not get closed but the grid just disappears. Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load If Not Page.IsPostBack Then BindData() End If
For several days now I've been messing around with Ajax calls using different combinations of javascript, ASP controls, and regular controls. I've gotten a bit of understanding about what's going on, but using ASP controls still hides too much of the machinery, and I want to have a deeper understanding. With that aim, can anyone tell me why the following setup doesn't quite work?I have a file "Testy.aspx" with the following:[code].....
So, I hoped to make my .aspx file do double-duty both as the regular-page request handler as well as the Ajax request handler. However, when I click the button ("baroo") to generate the Ajax request, the result that ends up written back to the "testytext" div is the raw html for the entire page, as if under normal request conditions. Clearly, my attempt to override the page request by making the code-behind implement IHttpHandler and supplying an "Overrides Sub ProcessRequest" method is not working. The server is still treating the Ajax request as a normal request, and in fact my own "ProcessRequest" method is never even called. Is it possible to build a page/handler like this? How can I intercept the incoming request from the client and respond accordingly? This is how Ajax works, right? So it must be possible.Again, I'm deliberately doing this as an excercise to avoid the use of "magic" ASP controls like UpdatePanels,
I'm not sure what's wrong with the following setup. I have a View that lists a number of records, and each has a dropdown associated with it to change a value on that record. I had it all working without AJAX, but you had to change a bunch of the dropdowns then click a Submit button. I wanted to change it so that it would save the dropdown choice immediately.
My stripped down View (of type IEnumerable(Of MyTable)):
What I would like to happen is for the dropdown change to trigger the Update controller, but probably not return anything - just update the database and let the user move on. What's happening though is that a blank page is displayed with the Content value on it (i.e. "123: ABC"). It's the correct id/code combo, so the Update seems to be firing correctly, it's just choosing to wipe out the html.
I am using AjaxToolJit Tab Container and the problem is when i refreshes the page the default tab is set to 0 but i was in 4th tab when i refreshed the page.AutoPostBack=true
for a while but when i used UpdatePanel in the same page causes the same problem again.
how to get http url request made by ajax page in webbrowser control?? i am navigating one ajax website in my webbrowser control. on one webpage there is one button which when click send http request to page, but this request is ajax, i want to capture that url whose request is send after clicking. is it possible. i think its possible coz when i use http debugger utility in mozzila called "HttpFox" it display that url.
i try to hack dom of webpage and scrap url form it but i found that the url is created by javascript variable.
I have some update panels on my page that do some asyncpostbacks to keep some dropdownlists correctly populated. My problem is that on my page i have an HTML input that is handling some file uploads. With the AJAX on the page with asyncpostbacks, and while i step through my code behind, the files arent being uploaded. Using a postbacktrigger (non-async) is not possible because of my layout.
When I put a breakpoint in at the declaration of service and then check the value of "files", the count is 0. I am expecting it to be 2 when i have one file uploaded.
I know that you can create routes in asp.net web forms, but how do I go about creating one that handles all my pages like [URL]? I do have a file called page.aspx that will process all the requests for the CMS. I think it's a root handler I need.
I have inherited a really awful webforms application that is all kinds of bad--an untestable hairy mess of datasets and Page_Load events. Object oriented? N-tier? Unit tests? source control? All academic niceties to the team that built this mess.
It started life as an asp classic app, got mostly ported to VB.NET. Management denied my request to "nuke the entire site from orbit" and start over.
[Insert discourse on how ASP.NET MVC is absolutely, positively the only sane way to to .net websites anymore]
I know we might be able to interoperate between the legacy webforms and mvc. The question is, can we leave the legacy code in VB and build the new stuff in C#? I want to force the conversion to C# so the team doesn't fall back into bad habits.
Is there an MVC 2 Areas strategy that we could use here?
Why I got this error Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.this error appears when the event for Save command is started
my problem is that i need to fill out a webform or a textbox, i tried using getelementbyid but then noticed the webform had no id only a name is there anyway of getting it to use a name instead of a id? (to be more specific instead of id= on a webpage is there any function that could use the name=?)
i'm planning on creating an application that uses both winforms and webforms and i have a few concerns before i proceed.1. is it possible to pass data between winforms and webforms?2. how about passing objects like connections, datatables, dataadapters etc. between webforms and winforms?3. i want a centralized authentication for all forms and webpages... meaning if i'm authenticated in a winform, i should also be authenticated when i launch a webform thru the winform and vice versa.
I am trying to write an onclick event for textbox but VB.net does not seem to support textbox1.click(). I want to open a new form every time someone clicks on the textbox. Opening a new form is no problem, but I cant detect the click. Is there any event for textbox that detects click event? I saw something like TextboxBase that has Click but I am able to use it well.
This is how my class looks : Partial Public Class TextBoxClick Inherits System.Web.UI.Page End Class
It has some basic load and init events. I am trying to write a Sub like this : Private Sub incident_clicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Incident.OnClick Incident.Click does not work either. I am guessing I need to import some class to access the Click event but I am not sure which.
I am trying to bind a New List(Of KeyValuePair(Of String, Integer)) to a listView Currently, I have a code off:
Dim TestList As List(Of KeyValuePair(Of String, Integer)) For Each key in GetTPDesc (Which is a list of strings) TestList.Add(New KeyValuePair(Of String, Integer)(GetTPDesc.ToString, 0))
I have been searching all morning for a sample showing a simple "find" example for an ASP.NET Webform, where a "find" button is used to find a string in a Textbox, and then Highlight it, like Word does. The following VB6 code worked perfectly, but I couldn't find .Selstart or .SelLength properties in the Text property of the ASP.NET textbox.
'find the first instance Private Sub Command14_Click() Command36.Visible = True
[Code]...
Is there a way to Select the Length and Start of the string in ASP.NET. The Winforms code is very similar to the VB6 code, so maybe I'm just missing something simple.
What to change color of label in Web Form by letting each user click a button. Cannot figure out how to put code in aspx.vb without geting a souce code error. Is there an option in Visual Studio 2003 that allow you to key html in aspx.vb.
HOW TO RUN THE JAVASCRIPT FUNCTION ON PAGE ONLOAD EVENT IN CONTENT PAGE OF MASTER PAGE.? means i have masterpage and the content page of master page namely default.aspx in vb.net.i wanna run javascript function in Default.aspx and i have called the function body onload in master page.when i run my website it shows the error "" Microsoft JScript Runtime Error : Object Expected ""
I have a master page which contains everything that inherits it within a form. A page inheriting from it needs to run some javascript to act on a text field on a page. However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. The following line will come up bogus: document.form1.txtFindUser.value = blah.responseText; This is because form1 is defined on the master page, while txtFindUser is on the current page.
i am new to this. i have 4 pages. login.aspx, account.aspx, settings.aspx and fliers.aspx. its all programmed in vb.net with sql server backend.on my firstr page, login.aspx i have this code in the .vb page -
Dim SQL As String = "SELECT * FROM table1 WHERE email='" + Me.txtUserName.Text + "' AND password='" + Me.txtPassword.Text + "' " ExecuteNonQuery(SQL)
Does anyone know why a Page_Load would be called twice on a page when requesting an aspx page?I am using .Net 2.0 with the new .net 1.1 compilation model installed. Whenever I request a page, the Page_Load on the aspx page appears to be called twice, so does the Page_Load on and user controls added to that page.
The thing is i have a Master page and a Content Page. I have a LoadComplete in Content Page and a PreRender in Master Page. The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side. How can i make sure the entire content page loads and then the Master Page PreRender event is called, making all the controls go through that event.
