Dec 19, 2011I want to Animate or put styles when a Form opens up. May be it should break into pieces as it opens up and come together... something like that. Any kind of style.

Dec 14, 2009I have a form with multiple datagridviews. On save the entire dataset will be serialized to a strongly typed property bound to a sql varbinary(max) Works fine. Of course the current "dirty" cell will not be saved as mentioned here :

My problem is the user could be coming from any one of 20 datagridviews when they click SAVE. Is there any way, short of checking for a dirty cell in each datagridview to commit any dirty cell before the save ( clicking another textbox control before the save does the trick but calling the focus() of that textbox prior to the save does not ) I was thinking perhaps catching the event of leaving the grid but it seems the base problem is clicking a button (for reasons I think I understand) does not fire lostfocus events for the current control and it doesn't seem the click handler args knows what the last current selected control is.
Animate The Showing Of A Form?
Apr 19, 2011In a Winform application, I'd like to animate the showing of a form a bit like when an email comes in and the notification window raises slowly from the bottom of the task bar.
I've got a few ideas involving timers and resize but they all seem complicated and/or clumsy so I wonder if anybody could suggest a simple way to do this or some magic function I could use to do it automatically.
I'm using VS 2005 and .NET framework 2

Apr 3, 2009I have this code which when I run the program and click on the btnReturn the form actually minimises to the taskbar. What I have noticed is that yellow and green lines have appeared next to the btnReset section and all the way to the end of the code and that the last line (private sub fmmxxxxload) had disappeared, which I replaced. Now when I run the program it still minimises rather than appears on screen. If I click on it in the taskbar, the correct form is displayed.

Clicking The [X] Closes But Clicking Exit Button Does Not?
Jul 11, 2011When the user clicks the Exit button it closes the forms and if there was an open file it asks the user is they would like to save. But after the application closes there is still memory being held in Processes by the application. However, when pressing the [X] in the top of the form the application closes again but in this instance it is not held in Processes. How do I write the close for Exit to take into account how the [X] works and close the application cleanly?

Mar 28, 2012I have an windows application (created using visual studio 2005) and it also is using an autocad .api. The user runs Autocad and the user enters various commands that will open forms. One of these forms, contains Windows.Forms.LinkLabels with paths to the autocad drawing files they've attatched (.dwg). When they click on the link, I need the file to open in the existing Autocad they already have open; however, the problem is that it's opening a new instance of Autocad and placing the file into it. Because in one my project, this does make diff. If I click the button on the form, the App works great but same button if I click it thru the form code, the whole process crashes. Oct 31, 2010I'm brand spanking new and trying to learn VB.net on my own but am doing a horrible job. It seems I can follow basic tutorial instructions and do them correctly but not learn how to do things on my own.
Anyway, I'm trying to do simple stuff first like have a textbox and a button that I click that adds 1 to the value in the textbox and makes the textbox output that value but I can't get it to work for the life of me.
