Assign Date To SqlCommand Parameter?

Aug 8, 2009Below is an UpDate Statement I am practising with David Sceppa's book ADO .NET 2.0 Core Reference pages 467 - 468. I can supply the parameter values for "parameter_New" by doing something like:
da.UpDateCommand.Parameters("@OrderID_New").Value = myTextBox.Text
And so on...My problem is how to supply the value of "paramete_Old" to be able to compare before update. I gues it has to do with obtaining the Original values of the rows based on RowVersion but I don't know how to effect it.

I have three ways of adding parameters to my query commented out above. The all seem to return 1781 records (which is all of the records) and will not filter out to what the UserName variable equals which should reduce it to 32 rows.
I use a Console.WriteLine to show that the UserName is indeed my username. But it seems to not be getting passed to the query properly. I tested the Stored Procedure before even starting in on the program, so I know it functions properly. I just don't know what I'm missing from a VB.NET perspective to get the same results into my DataTable.

Where Date color depend on the value, <15 is green, <30 is yellow and >30 is red. While Ext Date depends on value, >-14 is red, >-30 is yellow, <-29 is green and without Ext Date value will follow Date value.
I tried to put Switch in IIf but returns no color at all.

I tried this but it tells me I need to use the to_date function. dteStartDate is already a date variable so I know my syntax is wrong.

Passing Date Parameter To DataTable.Select() Method
Apr 9, 2009Jst recently i came across the select() method of data table and felli n love with it instantaneously.
Basically I want query the data table on a date field, unfortunately the format of the date string returned from y database in to data-table and the date string i'm passing as inputs are different.
How can i make sure that the data is compared irrespective of the formats ? Can I use something like SqlParameters whoes data type is date for comparison ??

Am I do'in something wrong ??

Create A Lookup Using SqlCommand Select
Apr 8, 2009I am almost finished building my application. All the data need is being inputted from various locations. I have a form that is suppose to consolidate all this data into a specific format. There are 47 fields that have to be populated and/or calculated based on two fields, the Username and a date range (this part is done). I was trying to set each of the TextBoxes equal to the SQLCommand that would return the proper value, but i am not calling it correctly. Would somebody please take look, is there something i am missing, do i need to write it in a function? I have had to use the Select statement itself in a couple of filters so I'm pretty sure that is correct, but i need help getting it to run the sqlcommand.[code]
