I have made a banking system in which a user can log in via a username and password they can enter the amounts they have into their bank account, but I need to be able to "withdraw all" all that users money via a button and show that amount once clicked.

I'm using VB 2008 express edition.I have to show the growth of savings in a bank account using input from two text boxes that will be deposit amount and interest rate. I have attached a picture of my form.I have declared my variables and now I'm working on my processing.When the compute button is hit, based on the deposit amount and the interest rate, the amount of years it takes to double the money and the amount of years it takes to become a millionaire with that amount will be displayed in the lower text boxes.
Here's some of my math reasoning...
Doubling time formula : 2P = P(1+ i)^n I tried solving for ^n and got: n = logP(1 + i)/log2P
Is this correct? How do I express logarithms in VB?As for the amount of years that it takes to become a millionaire, can I simply take the deposit amount for example $500 dollars and divide 1,000,000 by 500 to get 2000 so it takes 2000 deposits of 500 dollars each to reach 1 million. Is my arithmetic correct?
I had a problem with my code in withdrawal. Whenever I input the amount to withdraw in account3 using this PIN (0132), it will not reduce the amount of the account but rather it will reduce the balance of Account1 instead of Account3, same thing with Account2, Account1 will still get deducted but if you check for the account balance, it will show you the right amount using all the PIN matching their account. So there isn't wrong with my balance inquiry code but only in the withdrawal code. Btw, I used loop to for function.

I am working on making a program that will log into my internet banking site (this will most likely have to be done in IE) grab my current available balance and store this to a string, before I do any research I was wondering if anybody had anything like this already completed.I also need it to do this silently (as in no open IE windows) no visibility of program running to the user.

I have text boxes displaying the various elements of the total along the way and they are all right except the final amount due. TotalDecimal- TradeInDecimal.

How I can use a messagebox to show for a specific amount of time only? So if I place this in maintimer, MessageBox will show and will auto close and I set how long it must display for. If messagebox is up, then Timer is paused. I did research around these lines but couldn't find what I'm looking for.

View 3 RepliesI recently created a mail form for my program users to use if they have questions, etc.. Sadly, the mail form is easy to abuse. People can just put "A" as the e-mail and password and go right ahead and send an e-mail to me. This is why I want to add a delay so that users can only open the e-mail form once a day so that I can get a lesser amount of troll-mail. Is there a way I can make it so when a user clicks on the button to call the Mail form, it will make the button unclickable for X amount of time?

so if i say want to cruise 29 miles at 12 knts it gives me an awnser of 2 hours 24.6 mins instead of 2 hours 25. Although i do realise that 2 hrs 24.6 is technicaly right i was wondering if anyone here could help me with getting it into the correct format?
im trying to make a fast food program on which the user will input the amount that he has, then he will check on what he wants, by using check boxes. There are 7 different check boxes with 7 different amounts of money. I have the program somewhat finished (thanks for the people that helped me before) but theres still a couple of things that I still need to get finished but I dont know how to.I need to be able to get how much money the user has (this will be entered threw a text box, I think I accidentally messed this part up, because I cant get it to work right, (theres alreasy a permit amount of money in there and it needs to be what the user enters instead of the permit, 5.59, one) and this will be the maximum amount he can spend, then the user will check on the food he wants (and the program will add the sales tax also) then it will produce an answer saying if you have enough money or if you dont. But what im confused on is how do I get the users amount of money and make it the maximum mount he can spend and make sure it doesnt go over the amount that he has checked.[code]

I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.

There are multiple CtrNotifySink with its own Button child window or other child windows. How do i search thru the different CtrNotifySink window to find the one that contain the Yes button so i can send a click to it? I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?
Here is my case:I have a richtextbox called Rtb1 I have the text property for this control set to "ThreadAmountEdit=[Thread Amount]" This was set through the RichTextBox Tasks function, by clicking the control and selecting the little arrow in the top right corner. In working on my form, I edit the text "[Thread Amount]" of the rich text box to "45". What I need is to be able to reset Rtb1 back to default ("ThreadAmountEdit=[Thread Amount]")on button click.
I've tried: Rtb1.Refresh() which doesn't appear to do anything I've also tried Rtb1.ResetText() which completely clears the textbox.
It has been a while and I got tired of it, what I am doing now is going to my accounting program to print out checks.Is there anyway I can print out checks on VB.NET?

To create a withdrawal macro I must have a button which will perform the following things: Ask the user via input box the account number, amount and pin. The program should then search for the relevant record in the account sheet, check the pin and reduce the balance by the correct amount. a message box should then result that tells the user they have made a successful withdrawal the program should not allow a withdrawal if this makes the corresponding balance less than - 1000

I am trying to find some source code that is reputable such as code created by Microsoft or a similar entity that has released the source code for AES 128 encryption in the latest VB .net framework. My understanding of encryption methods is sufficient though, I am not an expert on the subject. The following source code [URL] on the MSDN network works very well in VB though with the advent of more secure AES encryption, I would like to be more prudent by using a more secure method. Unless someone can prove or explain that this source code is at a level of a "bank standard encryption" or better I would like to be pointed in the right direction of more secure code or advice from experts.
