Open A Open A Picture In Runtime By Dragging Into The Picturebox?
Sep 4, 2009May i know how to code to enable users to drag picture into the picturebox and be able to open the picture automatically once the user let go of the mouse click event, but if the user leave up the mouse click button on the main form then a msgbox will pop up saying this is not the correct place to put in the picture and the form will not be able to open the picture.

Closed A Design Window And Now Can't Open It?
Jul 22, 2010Simply enough, I closed a design window, and now I can't reopen it.Whenever I click on the form in the Solution Explorer, there is no option to show the design view, yet I know that there is one.When I go to the folder where the files are stored, there is a file there is supposedly the design of the form I closed, but when I open it, all that appears is another window of code.

Unable To Open [Design] View
Apr 16, 2009So there I was working on a project. I was putting the finishing touches on the GUI and clicked on the Image list I had added. VB froze up a moment, and when it came back I was on a code view of the form showing the properties I had just set up in the GUI. Suddenly, I can in no way view the form. I get a View code option, but no View designer. If I close out the project and open another, there it is "View Designer" right where I expect it. But in the project I was working on, it is just plain gone.
Is there something I am missing here? Can I recover my project?
If I run it in the debuger the whole form shows perfectly, I just can't get to it to edit it.

Apr 5, 2009I am using Visual studio express 2008. I was working on a VB project for a few hours. Then I did something,(I think I just double clicked the form ) and I cannot open it in design mode. By Design mode I mean so you can see the controls, and ad buttons and stuff. The form still runs, if I run it. I see the form in the Solution explorer. From solution explorer, if I show all Files , then open FrmMain.Designer.vb, I can see my code. If I go to the project menu item and insert New Windows Form the new form works like I expect it too, I can see it. I need to be able to see my form.

Now when I go back to the solution explorer, I can see Admin.vb but it doesn't have the form icon and clicking it doesn't open the form. Instead it opens the code.All of my other forms are fine and have the right icons and open in the [Design] view ...The form obviously still exists as it opens in runtime but I can't seem to open the design view for it.

I'd like to make it easier to use at Design time by putting a link of some sort to open the User Control at design time. The link would go onto the form in the space where the User Control will be going. This just saves a little time from having to browse through the files to open the correct file.

Aug 20, 2011I have VS 2008 and use VB, not C#/C++ or whatever else. I'm trying to make a battleship game, and I've decided to use the only method I can think of to control the grid. A 2D boolean array for position marking. I have the array set up, and the grid set up in the design form, but I can't figure out with all my research how to link them together. I'm writing this program to shake off the rust before school starts again, and for fun. I took VB in school last year, a half year class, so I have a foundation, now I'm self-educating myself above and beyond the class. I've searched for a way to use a picture box array to use the coordinates of the ship to .Visible=True the picture boxes. I've been working on this for 2 days straight with no results. I just need a little nudge in the right direction. The exception I've been getting with my latest concoction of code is NullReferenceException was Unhandled. I think its referring to the fact that I have no idea how to link the picture boxes into the array. Here's my code, and I'll comment where the exception is thrown:

Apr 3, 2012I have this code in my system which I use to retrieving images from a database by formatted blob. But some database records don't have pictures ([BLOB - 0 B]). list code for me to place an error picture in picture box1 when a picture is not available.
