VS 2010 - Randomize Text From List And Place Into Another Textbox
Jan 23, 2011I am creating a Map Rotation Randomizer for my Call of Duty clan, and I am having an issue with understanding how to randomize the text from the list and placing it into another textbox.
Here's what it looks like right now:
All textboxes are multi-line.
When I click a button for a game (CoD4, MW2, WaW), it places the map list into the left textbox like:
mp_bloc
mp_broadcast
mp_crossfire
etc.
When I click the button with ">>>", I want it to randomize that list and place it into the right textbox like:
map mp_bloc map mp_broadcast map mp_crossfire
Or if I click it again:
map mp_crossfire map mp_bloc map mp_broadcast
And so on. I think I need to create an array, but I've never worked with those before as I'm still new to learning programming. I'm not even sure what controls I need to put on the form for that, if it even requires any.

Error Provider To Pop Up Whenever A Textbox In My Groupbox Is Empty
Feb 11, 2009When im using a loop in my program and i'm trying to use an Error Provider to pop up whenever a textbox in my groupbox is empty for some reason I cannot get it to work, can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I'm not receiving any type of error, it's just that when a textbox is blank the error provider is not doing anything.

Jul 28, 2010i have a sort of problem when i try to add some linklabels in my groupbox. I used this

I can only add 4 linklabels no matter how big is the groupbox, i tried autoscroll but nothing. How can i do to store minimum 20 linklabels in a groupbox? Here is the whole code i used:

Group Box On Top - Second Groupbox Does Not Appear And Is Directly Behind The First Groupbox
Jun 22, 2010Here using VB .Net 2008. I seem to be having trouble getting group boxes to appear when I click a radio button.
For example:

This indeed brings up the first radio button however I have other groupboxes underneath which with the same code will not appear when the radio button is checked.

The second groupbox does not appear and is directly behind the first groupbox. The Top code doesn't seem to be working either.
VS 2010 - Custom Properties For GroupBox Grayed Out
May 22, 2012I'm fairly experienced with making user controls and have never had this happen to me before. All of my custom properties (gloss opacity, border color, header color 1 and header color 2) are all grayed out in the properties window on the form designer when I try to add my groupbox to a form.

To get around this I created a database that would store the values. My table contains one Field "host" and then has all 10 IP addresses listed below that.I'm trying to figure out how to make a text box on my form look at a certain row in a SQLServer 2005 table.

the text is long (say 100 chars);
the textbox can display about 20 chars.
The following code:

tbxTest.SelectionLength = 60
selects a part of the text and sets the cursor (blinking beam) at the and of the selection, in this case the first caracters of the selected text is out of the user sight because the textbox is too small to display the entire selection.
Is it possible to force the cursor to be at the beginning of the selection so the first part of the text is visible? (as if I had selected my text with the mouse dragging from the end back towards the beginning)

Apr 28, 2011I've inherited a large Visual Basic project that has a number of "frames" (obviously, it came from Visual Basic 6.0) which are now GroupBoxes. They all cover the entire form. The program chooses which one to display during execution. That all works fine.
Is there a way to switch between them for display in Visual Studio designer? Now it's displaying only the last one added, and I have to go to the code rather than Toolbox to make changes to all the ones behind the top one.
