We need to capture an scanned image from a flat bed scanner and store it in an SQL table.
Does VB.Net 2005 have any tools to allow us to manipulate the scanner and its capture its output programatically?
I have a USB bar code scanner that is acting as an HID keyboard emulation device. I want a web page that, for testing purposes, pops up a JavaScript alert when a scan is done. I don't want to tie the event to any visible control such as a textbox so thus, I won't have focus on any control to capture the scan input. Can this be done? I'm using VS 2010 with .NET 4.0 and VB.NET with a Symbol USB bar code scanner.

I am Trying to develop an optical character recognition system. I have a problem regarding the scanned data. Whenever i can a document the scanned image seems to be a little slanted/rotated. I am not able to figure out a way to rotate the image/scanned document.

I know this can be done with the help of OCR sdk's. But i dont know how to integrate those sdk's with my .net application and retrieve the value. I would normally use the invoke command but since it is an image I need to click I need to go this way. I am not sure how I could go about doing this. I believe I would need to take a screenshot then scan for a bmp image I have saved of the button. Then some how send a mouse click to that image without moving the mouse. The grid has 3 columns and X number of rows.Column 1 is the name of the skill, column 2 has a descriptive term like "Beginner" and column has the number of points you have acquired in that skill. Edited: I came up with the idea to use One Note 2010 programmically since it has built in scanner support. Now if I can just get that Insert-> Scanner Printout to work
When i scan a image from my scanner it's scan properly if the file exist with same name programme show error it's any way to replace this name and save the properly.

View 1 RepliesI need to show video in a picturebox, and when a button is pressed, capture the frame. I am making a desktop qr reader. I have the qr reader completed and working. my issue is my camera now. I would prefer something that actually works, and doesn't have severe memory leak issues, and doesn't throw an exception after it's first or second use. Would AviCap32 or Direct Show be better for what I want? Which would capture the image fastest, without causing exceptions? I tried using an open source solution called webcam_capture.dll, and it worked at first, but now I am getting an exception that I dont know how to fix. I'm assuming this goes in vbGeneral, and not the Interop and Upgrade. Most examples I have seen, use interop, so I wasn't sure. I would prefer not to use WIA. I have attempted it, and it doesn't work quite right on my computer, and this application will be distributed.
View 12 RepliesI'm attempting to grab an image from a webcam without having to connect a driver to a window. I'm predominately using code from a devx tutorial. On page two of the tutorial, it shows how to grab a frame using WM_CAP_EDIT_COPY. The only problem is, I don't want a preview window. I want to simply grab the image without having to associate a window handle to a PictureBox for previewing.

So when i use this technique and you drag another window above it, the window is also captured. (this is what I don't want.)

I've tried the following...I thought I could save the image to text in an array and find the 6 digit number. Then, I tried to save the image to xml trying the same principal but I get a general error A generic error occurred in GDI+.

using directshow to capture image from webcam. In my winform application, there was a tabcontrol which contains two tabpages. Tabpage1 contains a picturebox which shows the video from webcam, tabpage2 contains a button to capture the image. My problem is when I pressed the button on tabpage2, my saved image file is empty which has no picture inside.
