When i scan a image from my scanner it's scan properly if the file exist with same name programme show error it's any way to replace this name and save the properly.

View 3 RepliesI have a program that reads a barcode scanner to populate a field of a database, I should say that that specific program is a standard application and I can't modify it.
The issue I am having is that the computer must have the focus on that program and in the capture screen for the barcode scanner to function properly. I would like for the PC to be able to do other things and at the moment the barcode is used it directed the scan to the proper window. The window for the program may be oppened but not necesarily have the focus.
I know how to catch the input from the scanner, but what can I do to send the data to the other program?
is their a way for me to call my scanner to scan my files inside vb.net?
View 1 RepliesI am able to save images from a picturebox in the .png format properly, but not using .jpg or .gif formats. What I get is a black image only with .jpg and .gif. The picturebox has a white background with text and lines on it which I generate via VB coding.

Grier's Enhanced Serial Port dll to read input from a serial port barcode scanner I notice that the datareceived event fires only once per barcode scan, but the delegate sub fires twice per barcode scan. Once for 1st half of Barcode , 2nd for 2nd part of barcode This makes it hard to capture the full barcode so it can be passed to routines in my vb.net 2008 windows application In Richard's example 'Test Enhanced Port' program he sends it to a textbox using .selectedtext and it works fine Richards Delegate code ......................

I am a student and I am about to make a program that will use a barcode scanner well ofcourse to scan a barcode. the following code however keeps the Image File locked until the application is running, any suggestions how to dispose it properly. (So that no handle is left open )
Things i already tried: use dispose method of bitmap <= doesnt work (need to write implementation)

What I want is: To scan a website every 15 mins or so, (craigslist in this case), and email myself any new posts that come up. I know I need to use WebClient, but I never used that before. Another question would be how to only email when a new post is up and not receive the same email every 15 mins.

I have saved a bmp of the image and was wondering if there was a way that I could scan for the image in the webbrowser, and once found send a silent mouse click. Silent in the fact that it doesn't move the mouse. And I would normally use invokemember but the button is an image, not a "button". So I need to scan for it.

I would normally use the invoke command but since it is an image I need to click I need to go this way. I am not sure how I could go about doing this. I believe I would need to take a screenshot then scan for a bmp image I have saved of the button. Then some how send a mouse click to that image without moving the mouse. View 4 RepliesI made a small application in VB.NET that allows user to scan a bunch of barcodes and save them in the database.Application works both for the regular computer browser and handheld pocket PC.Barcode can be either scanned into upc text field and automatically submitted to db or numbers can be manually added into upc text field and pressing Enter will add it to db.There are also two buttons on the page. One button "Clear" is to clear upc field in case user started a manual input and didn't like it. Second button "Exit" logs out a user.
User should just scan a barcode and it will be automatically added to db without pressing any Submit button so user can go through a lot of barcodes fast. In order to achieve this, upc text field has AutoPostBack property set to True.Then in the Page_Load event if len(upc.text)>0, then data from upc.text gets submitted to db and upc.text gets empty again.If len(upc.text) =0, nothing happens.So it works fine in case of a handheld. It scans and sets upc.text to empty string. So if I scan and press Exit button after that, I just exit without a problem.
But there is a bug if I input a upc number manually and then press an Exit button for some reason. Pressing a button causes the page to reload and number gets submitted to the database anyway though I just wanted to exit. In fact, if there is any data in the upc field, any action, pressing Enter, pressing the button, clicking with mouse on the screen, causes that data to be submitted to db in the page_load event.How can I avoid this situation if I still want items to be submitted automatically without pressing any button while scanning?
I have installed hyperterminal for my RFID. When I scan the RFID, the tag is shown on the hyperterminal. I want to create a program using VB.NET that will function like the hyperterminal. When I scan the RFID, data will show and eventually, saving it on the database for further use.

I used few tutorials (I`m beginer) and everything is working fine(I can make changes in datagrid). but when I`m trying to save changes made in dataset(e.g. save added record) I can not to that (there are no changes in my access database, but inly in datagrid)what is interesting when I delete record - changes are saved and record is deleted from db. where is my mistake? what is wrong? maybe some tips what can I improve in this small program?

View 2 RepliesI need to add some information to a PDF (Trim Box proporties, actually replace Media Box proporties with Media Box and Trim Box proporties), and I dont have the support in my PDF-motor. So I found out that I can use Notepad++ to open the PDF as a text file and simply add the Trim Box properties as a string and save it. Now I want to do it automatically with vb.net. When I use Stream Reader/Writer the PDF gets destroyed and loses information (Stream Reader dont read all the NUL, SOH, STX etc. I guess). I tried to read the PDF using ReadAllBytes/WriteAllBytes and then it works good, but then I don't know how to replace "Media Box ..." with "Media Box.Trim Box.". I try to use IndexOf but I can only search for single Byte not the whole string. I'm not good in binary and thats perhaps the problem :-). Does anyone have a better way doing it or how do I search for my string "Media Box" in binary?
