Jun 9, 2011I have a program that reads a barcode scanner to populate a field of a database, I should say that that specific program is a standard application and I can't modify it.
The issue I am having is that the computer must have the focus on that program and in the capture screen for the barcode scanner to function properly. I would like for the PC to be able to do other things and at the moment the barcode is used it directed the scan to the proper window. The window for the program may be oppened but not necesarily have the focus.
I know how to catch the input from the scanner, but what can I do to send the data to the other program?

Grier's Enhanced Serial Port dll to read input from a serial port barcode scanner I notice that the datareceived event fires only once per barcode scan, but the delegate sub fires twice per barcode scan. Once for 1st half of Barcode , 2nd for 2nd part of barcode This makes it hard to capture the full barcode so it can be passed to routines in my vb.net 2008 windows application In Richard's example 'Test Enhanced Port' program he sends it to a textbox using .selectedtext and it works fine Richards Delegate code ......................

May 2, 2010I've been trying to make an image viewer that keeps top most while I do other things (like typing, etc), so I don't have to hop windows, or sacrifice screen real estate.I made a main form, and a configuration form (opened by pressing o), with options to set the main form's opacity (working), the picture displayed (as the form's backgound picture, not working), and if the main form stays top most or not (working).
Instead, the form just keeps displaying the image I set in the IDE.I first used a picture box to display the picture, which did not work, and decided I didnt need to have a picture box if I set the picture as the form's background picture.I tried looking at what could be going wrong, but couldnt find out much more than the path is being delivered to the main form.I'm working on Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2, VS2003, and here's the code.PS The code links to a D:ath-fin.jpg that I used as the default background picture, and the code is for 2 seperate forms.

This is so that the animation has time to play and stop and then the rest of the code will display the other picture and the numbers. Is this possible? I tried timer and sleep but I cant get them to work.

I have saved a bmp of the image and was wondering if there was a way that I could scan for the image in the webbrowser, and once found send a silent mouse click. Silent in the fact that it doesn't move the mouse. And I would normally use invokemember but the button is an image, not a "button". So I need to scan for it.

I would normally use the invoke command but since it is an image I need to click I need to go this way. I am not sure how I could go about doing this. I believe I would need to take a screenshot then scan for a bmp image I have saved of the button. Then some how send a mouse click to that image without moving the mouse. Edited: I came up with the idea to use One Note 2010 programmically since it has built in scanner support. Now if I can just get that Insert-> Scanner Printout to work
