Apr 6, 2009What I want is: To scan a website every 15 mins or so, (craigslist in this case), and email myself any new posts that come up. I know I need to use WebClient, but I never used that before. Another question would be how to only email when a new post is up and not receive the same email every 15 mins.

Mar 15, 2010i have a scanner set up which scans .bin and .iso files and returns the crc32 checksums (then displays various info based of that etc)
Im looking into adding support for .rar and .zip files, so the end user wont have to extract there files to scan them, how ever that adds to many variable for the crc32's based of what each persons compression is etc. So what about scanning the file inside of the rar/zip file.
So would it be possible to scan a rar or zip file, and get the crc32 of the .iso/.bin located within that archive?
Send The Scan From A Barcode Scanner To Specific App?
Jun 9, 2011I have a program that reads a barcode scanner to populate a field of a database, I should say that that specific program is a standard application and I can't modify it.
The issue I am having is that the computer must have the focus on that program and in the capture screen for the barcode scanner to function properly. I would like for the PC to be able to do other things and at the moment the barcode is used it directed the scan to the proper window. The window for the program may be oppened but not necesarily have the focus.
I know how to catch the input from the scanner, but what can I do to send the data to the other program?

Grier's Enhanced Serial Port dll to read input from a serial port barcode scanner I notice that the datareceived event fires only once per barcode scan, but the delegate sub fires twice per barcode scan. Once for 1st half of Barcode , 2nd for 2nd part of barcode This makes it hard to capture the full barcode so it can be passed to routines in my vb.net 2008 windows application In Richard's example 'Test Enhanced Port' program he sends it to a textbox using .selectedtext and it works fine Richards Delegate code ......................

Jan 4, 2010I am trying to scan images in VB.NET. I searched this site for almost an hour and found questions, but little in the way of answers, but some redirection which did not resolve the issue.
I downloaded the example here [URL] which has 7 projects doing a whole bunch of things. I do not have the scanner attached to my PC. Nor can I run any of these examples which do way more than I am trying to do. Then I went here [URL], found the VB version on planetsourcecode, but it will not run. I tried to duplicate what it does, but I couldn't get either of these line to be recognized:
Imports TwainGui.vb.TwainLib
Imports TwainGUI.vb.GdiPlusLib
I understand that the differences between .NET and VB are huge, but what I fail to understand is why no one has been able to post an example of how to scan? My company is not willing to purchase any 3rd party tools and my boss believes it can be done through the api, which some posts seem to imply but fail to show how.

I am trying to scan multiple pages from an Automatic Document Feeder Scanner and combine them to a singlemulti-page tif file. I am using two different third party libraries to do this.The first library I am using is to scan the documents. It saves the files to the local hard drive as single page tif files. This library returns the file-names as they were saved on the hard drive. This part seems to be working as advertised. The sourcefor this including a video on how to use it is at:

May 4, 2010I want to make an application that's pretty much all server side. I have everything sorted, apart from downloading images from my server. I have a listbox containing all the game names, in this format.
pacman
rallyx
mspacman
asteroids
There are many more, that's just an example.
Each game name is stored as a folder on my server. Inside those folders is the games boxart, called boxart.png. What I want to do is make an application that makes those folders and downloads the images. I have made the "create a folder for each game name" code already, now I just need to add another line or two to download the image inside those created folders.
