In my current project I added a couple of .jpg-images in the project explorer and their build-action to "Resource". My question is: How do I "call" one, according its name and show it in a picturebox?
I have about 100 PNG images stored in a Resource. Sometimes I need to have the same images in an ImageList, but I do not want to store the images twice in my application, so I add the images from the Resource to the ImageList during runtime when I need them.
Is there an easier way to do this than having 100 lines of code, like the small example below?
I'm trying to make a Blackjack game in VB. What I'd like to do is populate an array with each of the cards so that I can randomly generate integers and use those integers to pull an index from the array, basically randomly selecting a card. My problem is that I can't seem to get the images in the resources folder to go into the array. I'd like to use a For/Next loop to populate the array, as I would rather not manually assign all 52 cards to the array. I'm trying to do it like this:
Dim CardArray(51) As Image Dim LoopIndexInteger As Integer For LoopIndexInteger = 0 To 51 CardArray(LoopIndexInteger) = My.Resources.ResourceManager.GetObject(LoopIndexInteger) Next
i'm in the need to add two images to an imagelist of a button. The problem is that when i try to use the code here below : Public ImageList1 As ImageList
I am having a problem accessing my resource images. a brief history, my image name is the same as my item name I want to display the proper image with the associated item in a data grid, as I loop through and load my datagrid I need to combine "My.Resources._" with the item number to correctly associate the proper image.
I want to call Crystal Report Viewer from my resources instead of having the following fixed path
reportPathName = "C:UsersVanavahDocumentsVisual Studio 2010ProjectsSMS_API_CLICKATELLSMS_API_CLICKATELLCustomerCrystalReport.rpt"
I tried this reportPathName = "My.Resources.CustomerCrystalReport.rpt" But it just came up with a blank view. It only works with a fixed path and this presents a problem when I put in on another machine.
What is the code for opening a file from a resource (I have already placed the file there), i.e. opening an excel file or .txt file with the click of a button on a form. I can not seem to find this anywhere. I am using VB.net (Visual Studio 2010).
I am trying to make a program that will will make it easier for me to access some of my smaller frequently used program. I am new to Visual Basic and just discovered how to embed a .exe file into the project. I just dont know how to open it now.Basically there is a button and when it is clicked it needs to open up a .exe file, lets just call it 1.exe.I have looked around everywhere on how to do this and all I found was some resourcemanager commands .
New to vb.net and this forum I have a excel file that I have added to my "resources" in vb.net (Visual Studio 2010). I want to create a button on a form to open the file located in my resources.
The app i am working on is for creating theme for the iPod touch... It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...
I need this for my program. There is "add images" button where you can load multiple images and those images should be show on listview after loading.I have been trying to make this but could not get it work.
When I load up an image, a entry in added to the ListBox with the location of the image file. I also have a PictureBox... when you click a item in the listbox, I need the PictureBox to load the image associated with the ListBox entry. [code]...
But I am stumped on what to do, can I set a variable for each new entry which contains the image?
i trying to open a directory to list images in it..i tryed lots of codes but cant get it to work?last one was.
Public Shared Sub Main() Try ' Only get files that begin with the letter "c." Dim dirs As String() = Directory.GetFiles("C:\Users\TECHKER\Desktop\PROGRAMMING\PROJECTS\trainersTool\images\plyo", "*bmp")
im trying to open a directory to list the images in it i have this up to know
Dim strFileSize As String = "" Dim di As New IO.DirectoryInfo("C:UsersTECHKERPictures") Dim aryFi As IO.FileInfo() = di.GetFiles("*.*") Dim fi As IO.FileInfo
I noticed when I send bitmap over a stream I have to close the stream where I sent it from in order to get it on the other end. Is there any way I can keep the stream open and send images and strings, or any other way of doing that? [code] 'I have to close the stream or it wont work, but I need to keep it open to send more images!
I wonder if you can help. I have an intranet with about 2000 photos on it. A lot of these photos were not compressed when uploaded so can be upwards of 4 or 5MB in size.
Is there a script/tool I can run to go through the directory one image by one and automatically and compress each images to say 100k or percentage of the current file size, then save and close the file with the same name?
I have a main form (frmPos) and through a module (modTransaction) I open and close several other forms. This works flawlessly. However, when the function on the module is finalized, I want to clear the main (open) form. Therefore, I made a public sub (clearForm) on the main form and when I call this from the main form it works.
it works fine for this file. However, I have tens of thousands files to open. So I need a variable to replace "G:BlogsBlog35242+0". Like, I write blogaddress="G:BlogsBlog35242+0" and Shell("C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe blogaddress")it doesn't work.I write, Shell("C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe" &blogaddress) it doesn't work either.
I am calling a function in an external dll to a device that runs some firmware. When I call device_open(), the device driver brings up a Warning dialog box that says there is a newer version of the firmware available. How do I suppress the warning dialog box? I am calling this function during an overnight test, so the dialog box prevents my tests from finishing.
ive two custom controls, which are used to draw and edit etc...(like paint but customized....) i want to save their images with a single click....So im using the Getimageofcontrol function to do it....its code is below:::
Public Function GetImageOfControl(ByVal c As Control) As Image Dim rc As New Rectangle(c.PointToScreen(c.Location), c.Size) Dim i As Image = New Bitmap(rc.Width, rc.Height)[code].....
and the code to call this function for saving the images is simply.. ...
I need to refer to some strings using an "indirect string" in the registry. It should be in this form:
@filename,resource
MSDN: "If the resource value is zero or greater, the number becomes the index of the string in the binary file. If the number is negative, it becomes a resource ID."How can I find out either of these numbers for my resources that only have names in VB? I also need the ID/index for the exe's icon.
I don't completely understand the embedded resource. Here's what I'm trying to do.I've added a PDF to the application Resources using "Add Resource." It appears to add the resource as a BYTE (I'm assuming some type of binary file). I want to simply display this PDF in a PDF component I've added to the application.
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load AxAcroPDF1.src = My.Resources.aamaspoker End Sub This is not working because .src is expecting a "string" but the resource PDF is a BYTE. So what obvious thing am I missing here about using PDFs as resources?
