First off a short background of the project I am working on- I am developing a program that will be run off removable media (i.e. USB Flash drive). This will be a �virtual desktop� which you will be able to take with you and have the same �desktop� on any system. As we know drive letters can change with each host system the drive is plugged into, I need to be able to determine the path for the flash drive and access a specific folder ( i.e. My Documents)

I am attempting to load all images from a directory to a FlowLayoutPanel. I am using the GetFiles() method to retrieve the files with a filter to just retrieve JPG files. When I run the program, it returns 'Conversion from string "*.jpg" to type 'Integer' is not valid.' exception. The offending line of code is:

The code below displays a thumbnail of each image in a specific server directory and when I click on the image it pops up a nice full sized picture. It works perfectly.
I would however, like to be able to delete an image. I first thought I could have a button at the bottom of the page with a checkbox next to each image, giving it a uniqueID as per the filename but as they are dynamically created I couldn't figure how to handle the Click Event on the button for a randomly named Checkbox ID. Then I tried adding a button next to each item and then tried an OnClick & OnServerClick to call a Sub but this didn't work either.

I noticed when I send bitmap over a stream I have to close the stream where I sent it from in order to get it on the other end. Is there any way I can keep the stream open and send images and strings, or any other way of doing that? Is there a script/tool I can run to go through the directory one image by one and automatically and compress each images to say 100k or percentage of the current file size, then save and close the file with the same name?

So what I would like is a code that list all images in a folder of choice in a ImageList then I have a Next and Previous button to show diffrent pictures inside a PictureBox.
I am retrieving some pictures from the images in my Picture Box on the form I added my "images" folder to the bin/debug folder , and used the code for retrieving images from this directory.
