View 5 RepliesThe idea is to scan a folder of images and then let the user navigate back and forth through the images using a couple of buttons. The problem is, I can only get it to return a single image, and not the whole lot. It's looks to me as though the images are getting assigned to the same index in the array. [code]

How would I go about counting specfic files in a given folder?I have for instance these files; 6-11715.jpg ,6-11715_1.jpg, 6-11715_2.jpg, 6-11715_3.jpg, 6-11715_4.jpg, 6-11715_5.jpg, 6-11715_6.jpg.
I want to be able to show the first picture then using a next button load the second picture and so on. When I get to the last picture I will repeat the process.
I'm thinking I need to count the files first based on the left string of the name to get the total number. then based on the number I can pull the fill with the file name change accordingly.
I'm trying to give transuclency to images inside a form, and to forms (not with opacity)Example 1: There are two images with the same size and on the same place, and one of them has 50% transparency.
Example 2: A form has a transuclent background image with multiple transparency values - 30% on it's first half and 80% on it's second half
What I would want, is a way to get a count of how many sub-folders another folder consists of. For instance, if "c:TestAppTestFolder" contains the sub-folders "Videos", "Pictures and "Audio", I would somehow want to get the code to get the value '3' in this case.

View 1 RepliesI want to make an application that's pretty much all server side. I have everything sorted, apart from downloading images from my server. I have a listbox containing all the game names, in this format.
pacman
rallyx
mspacman
asteroids
There are many more, that's just an example.
Each game name is stored as a folder on my server. Inside those folders is the games boxart, called boxart.png. What I want to do is make an application that makes those folders and downloads the images. I have made the "create a folder for each game name" code already, now I just need to add another line or two to download the image inside those created folders.
For x As Integer = 0 To ListBox1.Items.Count - 1
My.Computer.FileSystem.CreateDirectory("C:UsersJoelDesktopids" + ListBox1.Items(x).ToString)
next
I'm trying to figure the best way to verify the contents of a folder based on another count via a listbox. Here is my current code to count the number of PDFs in two different locations and total them together for a grand total.
'counts test1 pdfs
Dim f As String, c As Long
[code]....
I have another process before this that will create the PDF's based on the files listed in the listbox. What I am having trouble with is verifying that the PDFs that are created in the Test1 and Test2 folders equal the counts from the listboxes. This count needs to match before running the next process. I'm kind looking for wait or loop until both counts match, again before running the next process.
I am trying to save an image from the client side to a folder using vb.net "" the image that has the myImage ID ""
<asp:Image runat="server" ID="myImage" ImageUrl="http://www.govcomm.harris.com/images/1F-81-imageLinks650a.jpg" /><asp:Image runat="server" ID="myImage2" ImageUrl="http://www.govcomm.harris.com/images/2F-81-imageLinks650b.jpg" />
this is just the location where i want to save my image i haven't run or try any thing with this code , i am just wondering how to do this this location is on the server side Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim saveLocation As String = Server.MapPath("PDFs")End Sub
Also, I would like to know if there is a way to use the id to save since i might have more than one image to be saved.
I'm wanting to create an application that will display images from a particular folder. On load, it will display the first image from the folder. Then the user can use a button to navigate through all of the images. [code]...

I have a Windows 2008 IIS web server that runs an online application. The applications runs on a local SQL database. Images, however, are not stored in the database. The images are stored in a separate folder on the web server. When I run the application on the local LAN, I just use a standard UNC path to access the folder with the images. I want to start running my application over the internet. I can't use UNC paths over the internet.
how can I access this shared folder with my VB.NET program over the internet?
