I have a Windows 2008 IIS web server that runs an online application. The applications runs on a local SQL database. Images, however, are not stored in the database. The images are stored in a separate folder on the web server. When I run the application on the local LAN, I just use a standard UNC path to access the folder with the images. I want to start running my application over the internet. I can't use UNC paths over the internet.

I have attached my code. It works in a cetain sense. Basically what this does is change the wallpaper every couple seconds. It sets the registry value for the wallpaper and then refreshes the screen. I also have it converting images from .jpg to .bmp and copying to a folder. The registry gets set, the images get copied to the folder and the wallpaper gets set as a random one(that all works). But it just displays a blank picture. If I manually select the picture from the display properties it doesn't display correctly either. I think the problem lays in the conversion process.

I am building a windows application with different languages, when I change the language of a form visual basic will create a new form for me which i can change the settings for my new language and all was working fine, but recently i recognized that the images i am changing in the other language form is changing the images in the default language form, so i need to create two Resources Folders for images and manaully tells the application which folder to use.
View 3 RepliesI want to copy an HTML file from one location to another using VB.net. When i use any of the three FileCopy, System.IO.File.Copy, My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile it copies only the file and not the "filename_files" folder which contain its associated images and scripts.
What i want to do programatically is copy a.html to another location as b.html
when i do that and open b.html it opens it without any images and scripts.
Recently I uninstalled and reinstalled Visual Studio 2008. Before that, Visual Studio compress images that I put in the Resources folder. In this folder I put images in PNG format for use in the project. When I was compiling the project, the executable was of a size much smaller than the sum of the bytes of the images as they were compressing in the compilation. The sum of the size of the images gives a 47MB, and the file compiled with the images was around 3.5 MB. But now the images are not compressed. For the resulting executable with the build is about 48 MB ... I'm deducing the problem is because the images were not compressed ...is it so?

View 6 Repliesi have a simple photo viewer application where i want the user to click a "load sequence" button and then i want something like a folderbroswerdialog to appear then the user can pick a folder with images in it then the images get loaded into the picturebox and the user can click a "forward" button to go to the next image in the sequence and a "backward" button to go to the previous image in the sequence, it's kinda like windows 7 photo viewer.
