I am able to save images from a picturebox in the .png format properly, but not using .jpg or .gif formats. What I get is a black image only with .jpg and .gif. The picturebox has a white background with text and lines on it which I generate via VB coding.

I cannot seem to get my image resources to load into PictureBox1.I can see all the images I added as resources in the solution explorer.They are a series of PNG files with names associated with countries.I am at the beginning stages of randomly changing the image that is displayed in PictureBox1, but I cannot even get the first image to load.Here is my code so far. When I click on Button2 I can see that my array returns a random country, but no image loads.I even tried typing in several of the countries names as well as the country name followed by png (e.g. chine.png) and again no image loads.

I open a browser window, and am able to click a number-button and have the corrosponding number sent to the active window location. When installed on other PC's, the numbers sent to the active window location are repeated many many times. If you click the "3" button, then anywhere from 10 to 50 "3"s are sent to the screen.All PC's have Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.The only differences I can detect are the many many .NET frameworks installed on my computer and not on others.[code]
View 1 RepliesI am trying to verify that an image has been loaded into the picturebox1. I am loading the image from the web and need to verify it has arrived before I can save it to disk. If I save it to soon I will save nothing and that will crash the app. I have tried to use 'if PictureBox1.image = nothing then' ... 'End If', but that isn't a valid check. I can obviously not check picturebox1.image if it is empty or has an image.
So the question is, how do I verify that the file has finished loading?

I have created a calendar in VB which works fine when set to the startup form, but when I use the MdiParent form as the startup form and try to display the calendar by use of a control it just shows all the buttons and labels with no values assigned to them. Create a new project & works perfectly. Add a new RTB to my current project & works perfectly. If i try this with the RTB that is already on my form and all i get is that BEEP by windows. Could there be a setting that is refusing the pasting?

View 3 RepliesI'm a VB beginner.I've been playing with Graphics.DrawString by watermarking a picture with a text string. The picture below to the left comes from PictureBox with a text string drawn with Graphics.DrawString. The font style used is Arial 48 points, regular, I think. The picture in PictureBox shows just as I configure. Great... The resolution of the original Terri Hatcher picture is 300 dpi (300 x 300). Exporting this picture with Graphics.DrawString, I get the picture below to the right. The text string appears a lot bigger than previously shown in PictureBox. It turns out that the text size varies, depending on the resolution of the original picture. That's kind of odd. I develop several graphics applications in a different environment and have never seen this sort of graphics.drawstring thing. Anyway,

now here is the weird part. When I save the image the filesize INCREASES..but the picture dimensions are the same Example... TEST.PNG 1.3KB, when opened up via picturebox/saved the image is now 2.3KB
