how could i insert PictureBox1.Image into sql server i built the database
table name is"prodect"
column is "pimg"
i tried this code

but it is give me this error

I cannot seem to get my image resources to load into PictureBox1.I can see all the images I added as resources in the solution explorer.They are a series of PNG files with names associated with countries.I am at the beginning stages of randomly changing the image that is displayed in PictureBox1, but I cannot even get the first image to load.Here is my code so far. When I click on Button2 I can see that my array returns a random country, but no image loads.I even tried typing in several of the countries names as well as the country name followed by png (e.g. chine.png) and again no image loads.

i need to upload and display images to and from database. i have written this code for uploading and it uploads fine. except 1 problem. It crashes when i dont select an image. can someone help me fix it for null value? also how do you display an image in IE?

I am trying to verify that an image has been loaded into the picturebox1. I am loading the image from the web and need to verify it has arrived before I can save it to disk. If I save it to soon I will save nothing and that will crash the app. I have tried to use 'if PictureBox1.image = nothing then' ... 'End If', but that isn't a valid check. I can obviously not check picturebox1.image if it is empty or has an image.
So the question is, how do I verify that the file has finished loading?

I am able to save images from a picturebox in the .png format properly, but not using .jpg or .gif formats. What I get is a black image only with .jpg and .gif. The picturebox has a white background with text and lines on it which I generate via VB coding.

I'm trying to insert a row into a SQL Server table.
Using this...
cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO MyTable (firstname, lastname) VALUES (@firstname, @lastname)"
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@firstname", "bob")
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@lastname", "jones")
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
I get an error saying:
ERROR [42000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Must declare the scalar variable "@firstname".
But if I use this...
cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO MyTable (firstname, lastname) VALUES (?, ?)"

...it works fine. What do I need to do to make the first example work? I don't understand what the error message is telling me. How do I declare a "scalar variable"?

I am using Visual Studio 2010 with ASP.NET, VB, and using SQL Server as my database
I am creating a website using ASP.NET and I have a mailing list database, I have a add to mailing list page that takes in certain fields (Name, e-mail, phone number) that are TextBox and a sumbit button. When the submit button is clicked how to do I take the current values of those text fields and add them to the database.
I have done it using the DetailedView which works at adding to the database but I also want to redirect to a different page after inserting.
how to take the values from the TextBox and insert them into the database, or how to I redirect to a different page after inserting a new row with DetailedView.
Here is my code with for the .aspx file, it has both the TextBox's and the detailed view

I have a form with a PictureBox1, Texbox1, TextBox2, and Button1. What I want to be able to do is: Enter a name in TextBox1, and based on that "name", place an Image in PictureBox1 and insert the number of the Image in TextBox2.
Example: In TextBox1 I enter "Gia", and press Button1. The results will be a Image being inserted into Picturebox1 and the IDnumber of that image being inserted into TextBox2. All my images are stored in C:Images. My movie titles are stored in a sql database or a datagrid in the application. I'm very new at this and hopefully I explained this clearly. im trying to write to an sql database. im inserting an image, as well as some other information. I am using the following code which works fine, as long as i do not add an extra column/variable "LOCATION" in to the mix and leave "

I am trying to re write a VB6 program using MS Access, many years ago, using VB 2010 express and SQL server 2008 R2 Express. I have a database with several tables, which I created using the designer. I am able to connect to the database and select data and display it in textboxes etc in vb code. What I have not been able to in code is to INSERT rows DELETE rows or UPDATE any data in the tables. I can do any of these operations using the Query Designer, but I want to do it in code. I can post some code if necessiary, but I thought it might just be some property that I had not set in the designer.

I have a client/server application set up that the client sends a word file to the server and then the server converts that word file to a .TIF and sends the image back.The stuff I have now works.Say if I sent the size of the file and the actual file byte() to the server back to back, would the NetworkStream contain both back to back?
