I have created a calendar in VB which works fine when set to the startup form, but when I use the MdiParent form as the startup form and try to display the calendar by use of a control it just shows all the buttons and labels with no values assigned to them. Its almost as if the Calendar_Load event is not working, or not accessing the methods in my CalendarClass.

What is the best way to access a value of a control within a form outside of the form class. I have a lot of functions defined in a module, one of these functions requires a series of values from controls in my main form such as the FolderBrowserDialog.SelectedPath element. I can hide my startup form (or make it appear hidden) on startup. I can start my app on windows startup--through registry values--if the user checks a checkbox.
But if the app starts up on windows startup, I want the form to be hidden, so the program can just keep working without bothering anyone. If it starts up because the user started it, I want the form to be showing, because the user probably wants to change some settings or something.
well i successfully docked a perpixel alpha form with the main form(form1). but the perpixel alpha form always appears at the top left corner of the screen and when i move the main form the form(perpixel alpha form) inside it dosen't move it stays at the top left corner. I am using vb.net 2008 i have been using a mdi form which is the startup form for my prog. and i have a main menu on that form. now i would like to shift to tree view as my client has asked for it. whenever a node is selected i can select the form corresponding for that particular code. everything is fine till here. but when the form is loaded the tree view is coming on top of the form the tree view is docked in a pannel. now i have tried everything treemenu.sendtoback and the say the form to b called is taxtypemaster then taxtypemaster.bringtofront but still the tree view is coming over the form

My company's main software package includes a hefty configuration library which loads on startup. This config library includes some mandatory settings which, if not supplied (via command line arguments), cause the entire application to exit.
This has never been an issue for our users, who launch the software via scripts which have the needed command line arguments supplied automatically. I have a form named VBProject It has two TextBoxes and one custom control named MyControl which is created in another project.MyControl's project has a form inside, named Form3. When My control is loaded it needs to find all controls in my VBProject and add them into a listbox which is in Form3. Then Show the Form3. I've looked at using Microsoft Internet Controls(shdocvw) and MSHTML(IHTMLDocument2) but I am struggling on how to access elements of the browser window (e.g. body.innnerHTML).
I have an application developed in VS2008 VB.net. It is a numberpad with buttons for 0 - 9.When published and installed on my local PC, everything works as expected. I open a browser window, and am able to click a number-button and have the corrosponding number sent to the active window location. When installed on other PC's, the numbers sent to the active window location are repeated many many times. If you click the "3" button, then anywhere from 10 to 50 "3"s are sent to the screen.All PC's have Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.The only differences I can detect are the many many .NET frameworks installed on my computer and not on others.[code]

I am able to save images from a picturebox in the .png format properly, but not using .jpg or .gif formats. What I get is a black image only with .jpg and .gif. The picturebox has a white background with text and lines on it which I generate via VB coding.

When the spashscreen is done, the main menu for the program appears.
The problem is that the main menu appears UNDER things already open on the desktop.
Always On Top could be the answer BUT if I do that, all sub-menus will be UNDER the main menu rather than stacked on top.

I've got a status bar at the bottom of the main form, indicating the application status. I've got a 'SetAppStatus' method on the Main form.
I'm writing a class that needs to update this status. So in the class I'm Importing the Main Form. But I don't know how to call this SetAppStatus method because I don't know what the instance of the main form is called Plus am I doing this the right way? I'm still grappling a bit with how .NET all fits together and it can get a bit baffling :)
