Control/Access An Already Open Browser With Vb Form
Sep 9, 2011
Is there a way to have a desktop vb application take control of an already open browser window? For example, have it mouse click certain coordinates in the window or check if the window contains certain elements.
I've looked at using Microsoft Internet Controls(shdocvw) and MSHTML(IHTMLDocument2) but I am struggling on how to access elements of the browser window (e.g. body.innnerHTML).
I have a windows form that have 5 webbrowser control. I also have serveral links of URLs and each webbrowser will open them. My problem is that after all links already opened, when I close my windows forms, sometimes my application suddenly open my default browser automatically and open url that on my URL list. I already tried to make all webbrowser to navigate to "about:blank"to make sure there are not loading any webpage before I close my application but the problem is still occur. This has given me a headache since this problem is not always occur when I close my application.
ow can open word document inside the "Microsoft Web Browser" control using vb.net.Word document open inside the "microsoft web browser" control by using VS 2008,vb.net, office 2003 and Win Xp. but it is not open inside the "microsoft web browser" control by using VS2008,vb.net office 2007 and Win 7.
I have a form with a webbrowser control on it, and I load up a local file in it with some code for a rotating banner (so I can support my app with advertising). The problem I'm having is, it is for example, a banner ad in the small banner sized control, when the user click's it, it loads the new page within the same control, which is way too small.I'd like for any click in the control to load up the link in IE itself, outside of my app. Putting target=_blank so far hasn't helped. Below is the code that I am loading up in my control.

The specific features I want to produce is it doesn't place on the form, it places in the little box at the bottom and when CustomUserControl.Show() is called it shows as a dialog boxI'm sorry if I misspelled something or my grammar is wrong, I've never done well in those subjects.
I'm working on a project. The main form is a MDI parent, it host a control form. on control form, there is a button. when click it, it will start, say 10, threads.
each thread will open a standard alone form (not mdi). on each form, it has a web browser control. when the form opened, it will start a new thread which makes the web browser control load a url, then depends on the links in that url, it will load another url, and loop for some times. then, the thread stops, and the form closes.
for some reasons, I got this weird exception:
AccessViolationException was unhandled by user code. Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupted.
1) the exception happens randomly, and not always happen. when it happens, it is always some code related with the web browser, i.e.
Not (MDIWebBrowser.ReadyState = WebBrowserReadyState.Complete)
or
MDIWebBrowser.Document.Body.InnerText()
2) I put a try catch in, but, it can not catch this exception. If I just close the exception dialog, sometimes, it keeps running without problems. sometimes, it just pauses the webbrowser control.
so, I did some research. it seems many people had the exact same problem. and it seems the best choice is:
[URL]
I checked all solutions suggested, even manually change the DEP, by using "bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff"
I'm building a web browser using the WebBrowser control in a normal vb form. I would like to add an option where the user can view the source code for the page like in internet explorer.
Basic scenario is that I need to programatically fill out a PDFs text fields that resides on a webserver. The fields will be mapped and filled out with data contained in a CSV. The PDF must be opened in the browser (browser control or ie/ff/chrome/etc) and edited in place. Cannot be downloaded, filled out, and uploaded (it must be filled out and submitted using the submit button in it; I've tried editing the buttons submission path to no avail). Thus far I've put a web browser control on a form and made it navigate to the website, login, and load the PDF file. How do I interact with the PDF file thats open in the web browser control? Looking through various PDF libraries, they seem to mainly interact with a closed pdf located on the harddrive, make the modificatio
I am trying to open a password protected access data base. I want to provide the password with in process.start to avoid the first password and security dialog box. so far i have done this
dim path as string="c:\temp\db1.mdb" dim password as string="temp" process.start(Path, password)
I have designed my app for multiple gridviews. When a user double clicks a row it opens up the data in a modal form and when they commit changes the row gets updated. While they have that modal window open they can not go back to the grid. But I have a alerts/messages window always running (like outlook tasks). As soon as I open the modal window I can not access that tasks window. (Default behaviour)How can I open the modal form and still let the user access/view the tasks window while they work on the modal window.(I tried creating it in a differant thread, but got a lot of cross thread errors so decided to abandon that approach.I thought that 2 modal form can run at the same time as long as they have differant parents. But aparently the main GUI thread pauses as soon as you open a modal window on it.
I've been trying to open Access reports from my application. The code I've been using opens the report but also prints it. I only really want the report to open. Here's the code ...
Dim accRpt As Object accRpt = CreateObject("Access.Application") accRpt.Application.OpenCurrentDatabase(strFileName)[code]....
Going through the code line by line I'm pretty sure I understand whats happening, but I'm totally stuck on why the report is sent to the printer. why the report prints?
In my form1 has a control....and my Form2 has a control also how can i put a control in Form1 by clicking a button event...to make them in one forms only...
I have three forms named, MainForm, Form1 and Form2. In MainForm there is one TabControl. I want to open the forms: Form1 and Form2 as new tab in MainForm. I am using Visual Studio and language VB.Net. Is there any way to open the forms as new tab?
I've noticed that when you click on a web page in Windows Explorer, or open a file in general, and the default application to open it is internet explorer, ie opens and opens the file. However, when I tried this on my Web Browser it opened, but ignored the file and went on its usual routine. How can I get my Web Browser to open and open the file that was clicked on in explorer?
Im using VB2005 express and the app im creating uses the web browser control.Basically I want to know if its possible to make the web browser control connect through a different ip address and port from your default web browser.
There is probably a good reason for this but I haven't worked with multiple forms while keeping controls from unloading before.
The process I've always used to open new forms and go back and forth is below. Once I open a new form, get a value from the user and go back to the original form, the checkedlistbox.checkedindices value on the original form is then 0, though it was a positive value when going to the new form (I can tell that the original form is reinitialized when coming back to it so it makes sense that the controls would be empty at that point).
What is the best/proper way to control multiple forms and keep control properties available the entire time?[code]...
What is the best way to access a value of a control within a form outside of the form class. I have a lot of functions defined in a module, one of these functions requires a series of values from controls in my main form such as the FolderBrowserDialog.SelectedPath element. I understand that these cannot be accessed in the format form.FolderBrowserDialog1.SelectedPath and that they need to be accessed using a delegate. This is the part I am stuck with.
I am developing a software using microsoft visual studio basic 2010. I used a datagridview control to display a list of data from product table. What I want to do (actually I am not sure how to do it, or is there a way to do it), when I choose one of the value in one of the column inside the table, I want it to open a form that contain data(details) based on that value. How to do it? How to call the value that I pressed, so it can be used to open a new form containing the details of that value
Example of the data: (the "system" column) SYSTEM topaz nex1300 Nec If I pressed "topaz" system, it will prompt me to a new form containing the details of that "topaz" system.
I am making a browser and i have putted tabs in it too. But when i click "open in new window" in my browser the internet explorar pops up. I want my browser window to pop up. Secondly the "open in new tab" option is not avaliable when i right click a link. How to make it avaliable and the new tab should open in my browser(not internet explorar)
I've got a VB.Net form application that dynamically loads user controls based on which navigation link the user clicks on. I'd like to make it easier to use at Design time by putting a link of some sort to open the User Control at design time. The link would go onto the form in the space where the User Control will be going. This just saves a little time from having to browse through the files to open the correct file.
I have a form named VBProject It has two TextBoxes and one custom control named MyControl which is created in another project.MyControl's project has a form inside, named Form3. When My control is loaded it needs to find all controls in my VBProject and add them into a listbox which is in Form3. Then Show the Form3. In the end ListView need to shows name and text of textboxes but it shows nothing. Here are my codes:
MyControl's Load_Event:
Dim i As Integer = 0 MessageBox.Show("Control Count:" + Me.Controls.Count.ToString) For Each MyObject In Me.Controls If TypeOf MyObject Is TextBox Then
I have created a calendar in VB which works fine when set to the startup form, but when I use the MdiParent form as the startup form and try to display the calendar by use of a control it just shows all the buttons and labels with no values assigned to them. Its almost as if the Calendar_Load event is not working, or not accessing the methods in my CalendarClass.
I have a windows application with a main form, on which a user control is added dynamically when a device connects trough USB.
On a user control, there is a thread wich is getting data from the device trough USB and when it is finished, I want to change a progressbar that is located on the main windows form where user control reside.
This is the code that is I call on the user control thread to change the progress bar value:
Frm_Main.UpdateProgressBar(CInt((AllBytesReceived / MaxBytesInFlash) * 100)) and this is a code that is called on the main form: Private Delegate Sub UpdateProgressBarDelegate(ByVal value As Integer)
I am trying to use the Web Browser control in my vb .net user control. I am using VS 2008. Finally, I will be calling my assembly (.dll) from a web page. I wanted to display the usercontrol with the web browser control inside this web page. The problem is I cannot proceed since the Web browser control cannot be called from a partially trusted assembly. Using VS 2008 I have created a strong name for my class, also added the <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> to the AssemblyInfo. But still the web browser control cannot be seen in my web page. Do you how I can make my assembly fully trusted so that it can access web browser control? If you have used web browser control, can you confirm if this step is really required?!
