Make Assembly FULLY Trusted - Use The Web Browser Control In User Control
Dec 19, 2009
I am trying to use the Web Browser control in my vb .net user control. I am using VS 2008. Finally, I will be calling my assembly (.dll) from a web page. I wanted to display the usercontrol with the web browser control inside this web page. The problem is I cannot proceed since the Web browser control cannot be called from a partially trusted assembly. Using VS 2008 I have created a strong name for my class, also added the <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> to the AssemblyInfo. But still the web browser control cannot be seen in my web page. Do you how I can make my assembly fully trusted so that it can access web browser control? If you have used web browser control, can you confirm if this step is really required?!
The specific features I want to produce is it doesn't place on the form, it places in the little box at the bottom and when CustomUserControl.Show() is called it shows as a dialog boxI'm sorry if I misspelled something or my grammar is wrong, I've never done well in those subjects.
Im using VB2005 express and the app im creating uses the web browser control.Basically I want to know if its possible to make the web browser control connect through a different ip address and port from your default web browser.
I'm trying to test/debug a WPF UserControl library in Visual Studio 2010 with the User Control Test Container.exe. I keep getting the error "Assembly [...] doesn't contain any UserControls." This should be simple, and every msdn article and blog tutorial I've looked at suggests that it should all just work perfectly and magically.[code]Project File has debug options set to open UserControlTestContainer.exe, with ./MyTestLibrary.dll as a command-line arg.
something I just noticed which is work-aroundable but a little annoying. We have a user control which has several properties. These have not had the <Browsable(True)> Attribute applied. However, when we drop the control onto a form the properties are appearing in the property list
I want to give my end user the abilility to navigate to a web page, and then I need a way for the user to close the web browser control so that I can capture the final url. There must be a way but the obvious candidate (a property named "url" of the web browser control) is not there.
i am making a webbrowser and i have coded over 10,000 lines of code & i am only 11 and self taught .
1) I want to make a popup blocker but my webbrowser is a tab type so it generates the wb controle so how can i get the events of the wb control? because it is not in my form and only is when it's runtime!
I can create them using Ctrl+T(webbrowser controls and all) but after that I don't have any idea on how to control them(let's say I select the 5 tab and I don't know how to make that web browser control to navigate to a given webpage). I was thinking of creating an array of webbrowsers but I don;t know how that works.
What I'm trying to do is make my own contextmenustrip for the web browser control, this menu has two items so far: "Select All" which will select all the text displayed and "Copy" which simply copies whatever text is highlighted or selected. No images are displayed so no need to worry about that.
Also I've noticed that whenever a file is dragged from windows and dropped onto the web browser control on my form, the browser simply displays the file (these are xml files that I'm dropping on the control, on my form) which is not what I want it to do, instead I want to grab the file path & name and use it elsewhere. The browser control doesn't have the DragEnter, DragDrop, DragLeave events like labels, forms, textboxes, etc... how would I handle this?
i am devloping app in vb.net and ms sql express compact 2005 .evrything works well. but when i used a third party dll file report viewer and one from skineengine system give me the error"assembly does not allow partialy trusted callers".
at first when i used report viewer it works, but letter it throw me error, same for skineengine. so that is the case of disallowing third party custom dll files.
i even set <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> in assemmbly.info
What I am looking for here is a way to possibly click a button inside a web browser control and have it call a sub from inside the program or have the program react to something on the page. I am trying to make a HTML5 GUI for my application. I don't really want use any 3rd party API's to handle commands from a HTML5 interface but if I can find another alternative that would be good. But if there is no other way I would be content with using a 3rd party API.
I am using a VB.NET program that uses the WebBrowser control to navigate the Web. The site that I need to navigate to suddenly became not IE-friendly. So, I am thinking to try to make it look to the site that the WebBrowser control is not IE, but a Mozilla Firefox browser.[code]...
I have an application going here Form1 has a panel on it named TargetPnl. I need my TargetPnl to display my user control named Vviewer when I click my SearchBtn and also need it to disappear when I click another button.
Out of 70 users of my application 2 are getting the following message when they to run the application... That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers. The reason for the error is that by default .net applications run from a network location have limited permissions. You need to use caspol.exe to add the network folder where your application is being run from to the Trusted Zone. If you do a search on these forums you will find plenty examples of how to do this. It is fairly simple. It will have to be done on every machine that will be running the application and a simple cmd file can be made to do this. The only difference is that I've asked our service desk to install the application to the local C drive which I believe they did.
I have a form with a webbrowser control on it, and I load up a local file in it with some code for a rotating banner (so I can support my app with advertising). The problem I'm having is, it is for example, a banner ad in the small banner sized control, when the user click's it, it loads the new page within the same control, which is way too small.I'd like for any click in the control to load up the link in IE itself, outside of my app. Putting target=_blank so far hasn't helped. Below is the code that I am loading up in my control.

<!--//
how can i call a VB function - deleteevent() in usercontrol.ascx.vb from a javascript function in clickhandler(e) in usercontrol.ascx. The call should cause a postback because I need the usercontrol to display the changes.I am currently trying to do it by using a linkbutton with style display:none, and calling its click event from the javascript function. But i dunno how to call the click event.
Just started on a touchscreen based project that uses the reportviewer control. I will obviously be putting my own big buttons for report navigation , export to pdf etc since even people with tiny fingers will have a hard time clicking the out of box toolbar that comes with this control (see below screenshot). Can I do all of this from code 1) Show next / prev/first /last page of report
I have an aspx page that has two different user controls. I want to find user control A and be able to set properties, etc., from user control B.
I was thinking I could do something like this:
Dim CMFilters As Control = Me.Parent.FindControl("CMFilters")
...but that doesnt work to be able to set properties and call methods. I somehow need to get the user control and and declare it as that user control type.
I did some research on how to make transparent User Control, The suggested code was like this: Private Sub New() ' This call is required by the Windows Form Designer. InitializeComponent() ' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call. Me.SetStyle(ControlStyles.SupportsTransparentBackColor, True) Me.BackColor = Color.Transparent UpdateStyles() End Sub
When I build the project, there is no errors. But, When I try to load my user control using the "Choose ToolBox Items" dialog, it gives me the following error message: "There is no components in [dll path] that can be placed on the toolbox."
I have created the user control which has two predefined components namely:
1.TextBox(which is used for searching name of items)
2.DatagridView(used for displaying name of item which are similar to text enetred in TextBox)
When we drop this usercontrol on any form then the code which written during creation of user control must be automatically created behind the form and which must be modificial...
I now realize that it is incorrect because the container's InitializeComponent property initializations have not run yet and they must be run prior to Refresh being called.
How (where) can I run Refreash after the container has initialized this user control.[cod]e...
i am using vb.net 2005 to developed desktop application I am having two windows form user control , the first control name con.vb containing the design and code for connecting to database and getting a list of my project values in combo box.

First user control into another how i can get the i have tried the below but its giving me error in run time but no error in design or code behind -
I've spent three days trying to get a user control to do some obvious things -- show, hide, and focus among other things. Done in vBASIC in Visual Studio 2010 Pro. The calling program is a Windows Forms Application, while the user control is a WPF Custom Control Library with a single object, a textbox. The reason it's a user control is that this textbox is connected to an async serial device; the reason it's in a Custom Control Library is that I'd like to be able to drop this functioning serial-port-connected textbox into future projects.
No matter what syntax I attempt, the user control (neither the control nor the text box inside it) will Hide(). I've tried every variation I can think of with control.Visible = false, exposing public subs to do the work, etc. When the form appears and characters are typed in the field, the KeyPress routine is functioning -- it will only accept numeric digits.
Here's the vastly reduced code to illustrate the problem:
Calling Windows Forms Application Imports DTRFormsControlLibrary2 Public Class Form1
[Code]...
In spite of the call to sbControl.Hide(), the form opens with a very visible and enabled user control text box. The ability to control visibility, focus, and enable/disable seems fundamental to any control.

All I want to make user control visible on button click. I am getting object null typical error on following code. How do I make complete user Control visible or invisible using javascript?
I have code for make the usercontrol transparent: Protected Overrides ReadOnly Property CreateParams() As CreateParams Get Dim cp As CreateParams = MyBase.CreateParams cp.ExStyle = cp.ExStyle Or &H20 'WS_EX_TRANSPARENT [Code] ...... These code shows the usercontrol transparent. But when the control moves I see that these control needs time to be transparent or drawing an image. Why so many time(maybe 2 seconds)? And why I can't use directions keys on keydown event? (The arrow keys are ignored).
I have a custom control and would like the properties to be mandatory (not default) when a programmer codes the control. Is there a good way to do this without throwing exceptions in the program?
Dim sqlConn As New SqlConnection("Server=.\SQLEXPRESS;uid=;pwd=;database=ContactManager") sqlConn.Open()
Above is my connection string, The programs runs up until sqlConn.Open() and then i get the same error, using no UID and Pass, or using a uid and pass.
Login Failed For User ''. The user is not associated with a trusted sql server connection
I have the SQL Servers authentication se to Windows Authentication and SQL Authentication. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005.
