Get The Events Of The Web Control - Make My Browser As Default?
Jul 10, 2009
i am making a webbrowser and i have coded over 10,000 lines of code & i am only 11 and self taught .
1) I want to make a popup blocker but my webbrowser is a tab type so it generates the wb controle so how can i get the events of the wb control? because it is not in my form and only is when it's runtime!
Im using VB2005 express and the app im creating uses the web browser control.Basically I want to know if its possible to make the web browser control connect through a different ip address and port from your default web browser.
I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.
Other topics around the Internet are all unfinished topics, so I'll ask this myself. How do I set a self-made browser as the default browser? I know it has something to do with accessing the registry and checking what the value is in some places, but I'm not quite sure. Now, I've made this browser called Nova;
very well coded and advanced, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, can change default search provider, uses Gecko as its engine so it's not just an IE shell, etc. It's been developed over the past year and will still continue to be developed. I'm almost ready to release the first version - but I just need this annoyance solved.
How do I make my web browser made in visual basic the systems deafult web browser, as well how do I make a feature that checks that the program is the deafult browser.
i make a web browser program. how do i make default my web browser program? simple. if internet explorer is default, all web pages start automaticly with internet explorer. how do i make default my web browser program with VB code?
I've done a webbrowser and I want to make it mi default webbrowser and .html viewer. I've found a registry modification, but, when I try to implement a registry modification code, my webbrowser requires to be ran in admin mode. Can I implement a code that doesn't requires admin (like firefox - when you want to make it default browser, it doesn't requires to be ran in admin)?
Is there any way to make the webbrowser control in vb.net open new window links in the users default browser, it currently opens all links in IE even though my default browser is firefox??
I am trying to use the Web Browser control in my vb .net user control. I am using VS 2008. Finally, I will be calling my assembly (.dll) from a web page. I wanted to display the usercontrol with the web browser control inside this web page. The problem is I cannot proceed since the Web browser control cannot be called from a partially trusted assembly. Using VS 2008 I have created a strong name for my class, also added the <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> to the AssemblyInfo. But still the web browser control cannot be seen in my web page. Do you how I can make my assembly fully trusted so that it can access web browser control? If you have used web browser control, can you confirm if this step is really required?!
I have some code in a label's mousemove event that allows it to be dragged around my form while the left button is held down. While this is happening none of the other controls on the form respond to their own mousemove events as the mouse pointer passes over them. Is it possible to make more than one control respond to mousemove events at the same time?
I am creating my own browser. I want to make an option...to set as the browser to default. To do that I have to:Write a code which opens html(generally internet) file through my browser(form load event) DoneChange the "open with..." of the .html,.xml.... files Problem I want to change the open with event from my web browser. Actually i want an options form which will ask the user "Do you want to set /Browser name/ to be your default browser?" If yes then it will change the default options of the internet files.
I'd like to integrate Webkit.NET into a VB project, but I'm not having any luck so far. The Webkit.NET tutorial page gives a demonstration in C#, so I assume that it's possible to use this in VB.NET as well? [URL]
I added the control to the project successfully, but since I'm not familiar with C#, I haven't been able to convert the code successfully (even after running the code through a few different online C# to VB.NET converters). So... has anyone gotten Webkit.NET (or any Webkit-based browser) to work in VB.NET? Or am I just dreaming? I would love to be able to use the default .NET WebBrowser control for this project, but this project requires doing a few things that the IE browser is not capable of (but Webkit can do it easily).
I am creating a webbrowser with Visual Basic, and I have finished everything but this: When I click on an external link, (I.E. On a photo, or on youtube) it opens up in a new IE window. I want it to open in my browser, not Internet Explorer.I have read everything I have found on this subject, but it is all for normal web browsers. I want to do this for a tabbed web browser, not one without tabs. Basicly, I want to use this code with my tabbed web browser that uses tab control.
Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.NewWindow
[code]....
convert the code to be used in a browser with tabcontrol? I tried, and it works with one that DOESN'T use it, but I want to use it with my browser with tabcontrol. And, I have read ALL of the ones previously given to other people.
I've just finished making a web browser suited for my personal use, but when I click on a new link or something it opens a new window in Internet Explorer - which gets extremely anoying.. Is there a way to make all links open up in a custom browser?
I can create them using Ctrl+T(webbrowser controls and all) but after that I don't have any idea on how to control them(let's say I select the 5 tab and I don't know how to make that web browser control to navigate to a given webpage). I was thinking of creating an array of webbrowsers but I don;t know how that works.
What I'm trying to do is make my own contextmenustrip for the web browser control, this menu has two items so far: "Select All" which will select all the text displayed and "Copy" which simply copies whatever text is highlighted or selected. No images are displayed so no need to worry about that.
Also I've noticed that whenever a file is dragged from windows and dropped onto the web browser control on my form, the browser simply displays the file (these are xml files that I'm dropping on the control, on my form) which is not what I want it to do, instead I want to grab the file path & name and use it elsewhere. The browser control doesn't have the DragEnter, DragDrop, DragLeave events like labels, forms, textboxes, etc... how would I handle this?
What I am looking for here is a way to possibly click a button inside a web browser control and have it call a sub from inside the program or have the program react to something on the page. I am trying to make a HTML5 GUI for my application. I don't really want use any 3rd party API's to handle commands from a HTML5 interface but if I can find another alternative that would be good. But if there is no other way I would be content with using a 3rd party API.
I am using a VB.NET program that uses the WebBrowser control to navigate the Web. The site that I need to navigate to suddenly became not IE-friendly. So, I am thinking to try to make it look to the site that the WebBrowser control is not IE, but a Mozilla Firefox browser.[code]...
I created a control that has picture box control docked within it. This control allows me to "animate" the image by swapping them out by setting the interval to swap them at. I want to use this control kind of like an animated icon within a application, but because the picture box is docked, the control I created won't respond to the events, MouseHover specifically. [Code]
I have a form with a webbrowser control on it, and I load up a local file in it with some code for a rotating banner (so I can support my app with advertising). The problem I'm having is, it is for example, a banner ad in the small banner sized control, when the user click's it, it loads the new page within the same control, which is way too small.I'd like for any click in the control to load up the link in IE itself, outside of my app. Putting target=_blank so far hasn't helped. Below is the code that I am loading up in my control.

<!--//
The specific features I want to produce is it doesn't place on the form, it places in the little box at the bottom and when CustomUserControl.Show() is called it shows as a dialog boxI'm sorry if I misspelled something or my grammar is wrong, I've never done well in those subjects.
Q1: If I'm making a Web Browser with Visual Basics how would I make windows detect it so I can set it to my default browser?
Q2: How do I make it so when you click a link in your custom web browser that it opens a new window in your web browser, say I click a button on the internet and it opens in IE and I wanted it to open it in my custom web browser that I made with VB.
I am trying to remove the "System" or "Default" events in a vb .net custom control. i dont want them to appear in the list once added to the form. [code]...
i have a question like can i put code on my application that when user PC (windows) default web browser like internet explorer or google chrome or both web browser navigate [URL] then a msgbox appear on my application that "You are currently on google web service"
I have a tabbed web-browser I want to add an event to it to make it so IE doesn't pop up when I click a link, with a normal web-browser that is easy but I guess I have to do a handler with the tabs being part of the browser and all. [Code]
I'm relatively new to vb.net. I just created an simple Electronic Raffle web application via Visual Studio 2005. It's working just fine since it just basically returns a random winning entry queried from an SQL Server database. However, to make the raffle draw more "dramatic", I would like display random entries before actually displaying the winner. I tried creating a for-loop which displays random numbers before displaying the winning entry but only the end result (winning entry) is displayed.
I even tried to display an animated gif file then hide it again before displaying the winning entry but only the winning entry is displayed when I click on the "Draw Winning Entry" button. Is there a way to set the sequence of events in a web browser such that the program should display the image first then hide it after 5 seconds then display the winning entry afterwards?
I am using the function below to open the user's default web browser.
Public Function ShowHelp(ByVal url As String) As System.Diagnostics.Process Dim startInfo As New Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo() startInfo.FileName = url
[Code]....
A couple of times the function returned the error (on users machine) "the system cannot find the file specified"
I guess the user has not set a default web browser. Why i get this error? How could i add a default web browser check before calling this function?
