Jul 10, 2009i am making a webbrowser and i have coded over 10,000 lines of code & i am only 11 and self taught .
1) I want to make a popup blocker but my webbrowser is a tab type so it generates the wb controle so how can i get the events of the wb control? because it is not in my form and only is when it's runtime!

May 11, 2010limit the default events, properties and methods exposed from a UserControl so it only displays to the developer the new events etc that I code myself.What i mean is I have created a UserControl with a panel and 5 buttons, written 1 Public Eventonly at this stage, I have placed an instance of the control on a form in a new project, but in the drop down menu that comes up after say (myUserControl1.), there is a massive list of options, I don't want those to appear.

Dec 24, 2010I was wondering about the EventInfo.GetRaiseMethod and EventInfo.GetOtherMethods methods. Apparently, the CLR supports 4 kinds of methods associated with events: add, remove, raise, and "others". But events created in C# only have add and remove... I assumed that raise was used in VB, since you have to specify a RaiseEvent method when you declare a custom event, but apparently it's not the case: GetRaiseMethod always returns null.what's the point in having a raise method associated with an event if it's never used? Is there a specific MSIL instruction to raise an event using this method? (I couln't find anything like it in the opcodes)what are the "other" methods returned (well, not returned actually) by GetOtherMethods? What's are they supposed to do?are there types in the BCL that implement those special methods?

Aug 24, 2009Is there a way to remove default date for DateTimePicker? It defaults to today's date and I couldn't find a way to remove it. For example - when user pulls up a record and there is no date in the field - it shows today's date which is misleading. We could have the cases when the field is not filled in yet and user might think that it has today's date in it when it's actually Null. Basically I need for date fields to be blank initially. We also have the other date fields that might have dates in it but we'd need to remove the value completely. Again - DateTimePicker doesn't allow it. We tried to use masked field as well but run into the problem where existing values with single month/single day (like 1/1 for example) were converted wrong with MM/dd/yyyy mask.

Oct 12, 2010When I use e.X or e.Y I get the X,Y coordinates of the mouse and it works fine.But when I use e.Button I get long numbers.
Button 1 = 1048576
Button 2 = 2097152
Button 3 = 3145728
And so on...
Why does it return these large numbers? Why not 1, 2, or 3?Is there more data in those large numbers?

Aug 31, 2009I am not sure if it is possible, but I would like to be able to provide a custom "SelectedHighlight" color when an item is selcted in both a treeview and a listview (Better yet, any) control.
While I am a fan of sticking with established convention in most cases, There are times and places when I would like to do this.
A. Is it possible to do this? And by possible, I am looking to Override the Default system SystemHighlight at runtime, for only a particular control. I am NOT looking to change global system settings (at least, outside of any time when the particular control has the focus.
B. I haver tried a few searches, and I will contiinue (Try searching for any combination of "System", Color", "Selection", and "Highlight" and see what comes back!).

Apr 13, 2010I have a VB Web Site project that has recently (and mysteriously) stopped importing the "System" namespace by default.
I'm having to either place an Imports System line at the top of each code behind, or preface everything with System, which is fairly annoying, not to mention redundant. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the System namespace back to being imported by default.
I've already checked to see that WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727CONFIGweb.config contains the <add namespace="System"/> line--it does. That was my best lead.
I have references to several namespaces within the System namespace in the <assemblies> node (e.g. System.Design, System.Web.Extensions of my website's web.config. There is no <namespaces> node. This has not been changed recently.

I have it working, but� Through a lot of trying, I discovered that the WordBasic line would work. Further exploration revealed the �with dialogs(13)� will work. In a Word macro it would be Dialogs(wdFilePrintSetup) or Dialogs(97)
This is where it gets interesting. While Word.WdWordDialog.wdDialogFilePrintSetup equals to 97 it doesn�t activate the correct dialog. After considerable trying, I found that index 13 does yield the correct dialog box.
