Coding Default Login Page?
Jan 21, 2011I created a website in VWDE 2010, and I was trying to code the login page that gets automatically created with a new web site in vb. owever, the vb file doesnt recognize some of the items on the aspx page, for instance: the username textbox is called "username". in the vb file, when I wrote username.text etc etc, and then I debugged it, it gave me error " 'username' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level. Why is it doing that? It's under a Protected Sub, but why should tht interfere?

It works well except when it comes to sending an XML file whose name contains accents. In the latter case the UTF-8 name is not correct, so Widows Mail Life presents him with name consisting of a set of meaningless characters. Furthermore, the content has lost the format of lines and spaces, presented part of MIME type information in the header, so that it is unreadable XML readers. May 12, 2011I want to play system sounds with .NET code in my app - no problem if I want to use Beep, Asterisk etc as I can just use: My.Computer.Audio.Play SystemSound(Media.SystemSounds.Asterisk)But what if I want to play something like 'Menu Pop-up'? This sound is off by default in the Windows Default Sound Scheme, but if the user has set this sound up to do something then I want to play it.The user could have assigned any wav file to this action so I want to find which (if any) sound they have assigned and play it. Compatibility with Windows versions back to XP is also essential.

Aug 31, 2009I am not sure if it is possible, but I would like to be able to provide a custom "SelectedHighlight" color when an item is selcted in both a treeview and a listview (Better yet, any) control.
While I am a fan of sticking with established convention in most cases, There are times and places when I would like to do this.
A. Is it possible to do this? And by possible, I am looking to Override the Default system SystemHighlight at runtime, for only a particular control. I am NOT looking to change global system settings (at least, outside of any time when the particular control has the focus.
B. I haver tried a few searches, and I will contiinue (Try searching for any combination of "System", Color", "Selection", and "Highlight" and see what comes back!).

Apr 13, 2010I have a VB Web Site project that has recently (and mysteriously) stopped importing the "System" namespace by default.
I'm having to either place an Imports System line at the top of each code behind, or preface everything with System, which is fairly annoying, not to mention redundant. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the System namespace back to being imported by default.
I've already checked to see that WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727CONFIGweb.config contains the <add namespace="System"/> line--it does. That was my best lead.
I have references to several namespaces within the System namespace in the <assemblies> node (e.g. System.Design, System.Web.Extensions of my website's web.config. There is no <namespaces> node. This has not been changed recently.

I have it working, but� Through a lot of trying, I discovered that the WordBasic line would work. Further exploration revealed the �with dialogs(13)� will work. In a Word macro it would be Dialogs(wdFilePrintSetup) or Dialogs(97)
This is where it gets interesting. While Word.WdWordDialog.wdDialogFilePrintSetup equals to 97 it doesn�t activate the correct dialog. After considerable trying, I found that index 13 does yield the correct dialog box.
