Unfortunately, it writes "01/01/1900" to the database. How do I get it to just leave the field as NULL?
I'm having some problems with placing the date and time (e.g., 11/3/2011 10:13 AM) into a text box as I tried several things. The above date time format shows in properties as the value but when I try using it, the textbox shows "11/3/2011 12:00:00 AM). Any way to assign the date and time to a text box?

The controls that always have values, they are displayed correctly, but the others ones that have null values in the data source, the default null value doesn't show up. I have a select statement which was returning the required values but when I changed the OS date from English(US) to English(UK), it now returns null. I believe the problem is concerned with date since in the query am selecting values where the date from the database is the same as the date in a combobox but I don't know what else I can do. It almost looks like the dates in the combox and in the database are not the same and yet the date in the combobox is actually retrieved from the database and has been returning values fine until I changed the system date format.Here's my select command:

i'm not 100% sure about sql server but i think it doesn't accept null value for date type columns but in oracle, a date column can accept a null value. and since i'm using oracle, this is causing some problems because in my form, a textbox item bound to a date column will not accept a null value. reading thru some threads, it would seem that it is not possible to pass a null value to a date type in .Net.

All I want it to do is start from the passed path; i.e. e:defaultpath ewdocs.

I added a datagrid view to my project just to see and any column that should have a date value is empty. I confirmed that the column is of System.DateTime value so I am at a complete loss?

View 19 RepliesI am throwing some data out into Excel and am having some formatting troubles. I have 5 columns (date, time, a long number I don't want displayed in scientific notation - text is fine, text, text). I can get it all working with numberformat, however I have to do them different ways.
Date works this way cell.numberformat = "m/d/yy" and it formats it to say 3/1/11
Time works this way cell.numberformat = "h:mm AM/PM" and it formats it to say 8:07 AM
For the long number cell.numberformat = "@" and it doesn't change the format and it gets displayed in scientific notation
BUT if I use cell.style.numberformat = "@" it works as it should, but it messes up all of the date and time cells. Apparently when you use style.numberformat, it doesn't just apply to the cell you're working with. If I try using style.numberformat with the date and time formats, they don't change and are entered as if I didn't change the format at all.
