.net Code To Upload And Image From Client To Web Form Image Control And Save It To Sql Express Database?

Jan 17, 2010

I hoping to find a current and simple way to do this. I'm using VWD Express 2008 and SQL Express 2008.I'm able to get the client's path to the image file using an asp:FileUpload control on the web form.

How do I upload the client's image file and display it in the web form's image control? How do I save it to the sqlserver? The image table is already set up with a "Image" data type column. Can the image be saved to the database as simply as other data types?

VS 2010 - Image Resources - Make A Picture Box And Import An Image

Sep 17, 2010

I made a picture box and imported an image named Title.jpg. Later I made adjustments to the picture and imported it again without deleting the original(mistake). The new one had the name automatically changed to Title1.jpg. So I deleted the original image from resources and renamed Title1.jpg back to Title.jpg.

Now I got two problems. First, only Title.jpg is on the solution explorer, but Title1.jpg(along with Title.jpg) still pops up on the resource list when I click on Image property of the picture box. There's only the name and no picture, and I don't see a delete option. How do I get rid of it? Second, even though I changed the image to the new Title.jpg in the picture box, the old one is displayed when running the app. What's up with that?

Image.Save And Graphics.DrawString And Image Resolution?

Nov 13, 2011

I'm a VB beginner.I've been playing with Graphics.DrawString by watermarking a picture with a text string. The picture below to the left comes from PictureBox with a text string drawn with Graphics.DrawString. The font style used is Arial 48 points, regular, I think. The picture in PictureBox shows just as I configure. Great... The resolution of the original Terri Hatcher picture is 300 dpi (300 x 300). Exporting this picture with Graphics.DrawString, I get the picture below to the right. The text string appears a lot bigger than previously shown in PictureBox. It turns out that the text size varies, depending on the resolution of the original picture. That's kind of odd. I develop several graphics applications in a different environment and have never seen this sort of graphics.drawstring thing. Anyway,
my sample application seems to draw a text string at an image resolution of

Save An Image To An Online Database?

Jan 7, 2011

In my Database application same of the operations can cause a bit of a delay, especially the ones that invoke more than one query on the DB.... In Windows (or was it in Java?) I have encountered this progress bar that doesn't gradually fill in but rather just shows this block of bars that moves from left to right in a loop...basically not showing exact info regarding the progress but simply showing that something is happening....Anybody knows what I'm talking about? And if so, if there is a way to implement this in VB? Kind of in a way that it appears when the function is called and starts looping until the function reaches its last lines and then disappears?

VS 2008 Save Image To MySQL Database?

This has really been a problem for me in the past and with deadlines, we decided to just have the app copy the image to the server, rename it and save the link in the database. This is the worst way of saving that kind of sensitive data, I know. We now have the time to fix that.
