I'm presented with a puzzle. Where I work there are a huge amount of Word templates which all contains an autonew eventhandle which contains some errors. And this error lies within all templates. And I was wondering if there might be a way of scanning a directory for templates which contains this macro and change the macro code slightly?

I have been tasked with a project that requires me to scan documents into our application. I was hoping a few of you had experience with coding them for your project and could point me in the right direction.
Here are my questions:
1. Do I have to choose a specific scanner such as Visioneer to code for or can I do I code for twain and assume all scanners that are twain drivers can run my software?
2. Should I write the code in VS2008 to obtain the scan or should I be using the software it comes with? I've found a few bits of code that seem to work but I'm not if I'll just be rewritting something I don't need to.I'm not looking for my work to be done for me, just a push in the right direction.
When i scan a image from my scanner it's scan properly if the file exist with same name programme show error it's any way to replace this name and save the properly.

I've gotten as far as finding the beginning and end of the string as instances of VirtualPoint. Now I'm trying to select from the first VirtualPoint to the second. And I can't figure it out. I know the VirtualPoints are correct, because I'm using MessageBox.Show to tell me their values when I run the macro. I would like to use the Visual Studio Find/Replace dialog box to search for "As New" then replace everything from "As New" to the first set of speech marks with some text such that:

I am trying to make a program which goes through the HTML code of a page and then searches for a certain phrase. I have gotten up to the point of executing a search on a site and then dumping the html code of the body.How would I go about doing this?

All I would need to do is find the number inside of the parenthesis (87178) in this example and I THINK I'm good to roll, so how would I do that?
I'm have a program (GUI) that interfaces with excel to execute macros. We're using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to call/run the macros and this works great.What I can't figure out is a good way to cancel the macros from the GUI.One idea we had was to use the excel.application variable that runs the macros to write a "stop" value to a specific cell in the workbook, and in the macros (they are all mostly loops), check for the "stop" value in that cell. This crashes my GUI with this The program '[2188] BVLReports.vshost.exe: Managed' has exited with code -336589910 (0xebf00baa).And excel gets tied up, and won't respond. I know how to Exit Sub from within the macro if the "stop" value exists, so I don't need answers on how to check/cancel from inside the macro. Any ideas on a better way to write this "stop" value or a better way to cancel the macros externally?

I can't stop the image from flashing and it is very slow. Does anyone know of a way to loop through them quickly and can the page counts (one image can have many documents)?

I'm using Visual Studio 2008 and I split my text editor into two vertical text editors. I thought it would be useful to have a macro that re-size the active text editor to take up most of the screen but I haven't gotten very far. I get an error whenever I try to change the width of a text editor.

This gets the document and adds text into it, exactly what i want it to do. But it replaces the whole document. I just want it to add text at the start of the document. Not replace the whole document.
I need to find a Windows forms Text edit which can handle MS Word documents correctly.That is documents with Images, textboxes etc (.doc, .docx).I have tried Devexpress Xtrarichedit and TXText Control but when you load a MS Word Document (.doc, .docx) the document does not appear as it does in MS Word.That is Textboxes overlapping images are misaligned or have no transparent background option, so the white background of the textbox hides part ot the image.Has anybody had experience with 3rd party Document .net editors which mamage MS Word Documents correctly?

Neither the StreamReader nor StreamWriter have a method for replacing or removing Text from a text file, as does the string object. Are there any available methods for erasing just certain lines of text from a file, and then replacing them with others?

I found the code above that is extremely useful for my project. It replaces the first string with the second. But now I need to bring my code one step further. I would like the text from after the colon to be underlined. I tried using a range but it didn't work. Secondly, that only works if there's text to look for in the first place! I would like to put text in an empty cell. How do I locate the cell programmatically? It's the second table in the document's second row.
