Have A List Of Text Files That Get Open, Read, Replace Certain Text In Each One But Not Sure Where To Start?

I current have an app that I am trying to create. I have 2 List boxes, a textbox, and a command button.What I am trying to do is take about 100 text files that all have certain text in them that I need to change at run time to whatever I put into the textbox. For instance Each Text file has my old company name and I want to be able enter my new name into the textbox and click the command button and the app will open each text file, find the text that I specify and replace it with my new name then save the file into a specified folder.What elements should I be studying to make this happen? So far this is what I've come up with:
OpenFileDialog - to open the file
StreamReader - to read the text files and find the text that I specified
**Not sure on the replace method**
StreamWriter - to write the text from the textbox to the new file
SaveFileDialog - to save the file to the specified location

I'm completely new to .NET and am trying as a first step to write a text processing program. The task is simple: I have a list of 10,000 text files stored in one folder, and I'm trying to read each one, store it as a string variable, then run it through a series of functions, then save the final output to another folder. So far I can only manage to manually input the file path like this (in VB.NET):

I'm wondering, therefore, if there's a way to automate this process. Perhaps for example store all input file path into a text file then read each entry at a time, then save the final output into the save path, again listed in a text file.

Im designing a program that will read from various text files (preferably RTF files) and then put them into the RTF box in the program when a button is clicked.
Here is the portion of my code that i am referring to.

Now heres the problem. In the file i have a few pictures and its formatted and what not. I thought since its a RTF file and the Box is RTF it would auto format.... but anyways. It appears like this in the RTF Box.

I would like to search through all files simultaneously, for some text then replace the text with other text & save, & overwrite originals. I would like to step through each *.txt file in a given directory, open it, find and replace all, perhaps a thousand, occurances of a given string (e.g. "00/00/00"), then close and save file, and step to next one in the directory to do the same find and replace. I've been looking at filestream classes and regular expressions but don't see a clear way to do this.

First it might sound like an ordinary task but keep reading it isn't. I can't figure out how to find a phrase in a text file, and replace it with something else. Tried lots of things but always ending up with empty hands.
Suppose there's a text file in this order:
valueabc=6000.0000
valuettt=200.0000
valuexyz=7000.0000
I want to;
1) Find the phrase (e.g. valueabc) by scanning the whole text,
2) Replace the number that starts after "=" and ends before ".", namely "6000" in the middle with any number value i want.
I don't need the parts before "=" and after ".", only the number in the middle.

Im trying to make a search bar that has a Go button now heres where it gets diffcuilt How do i make this search bar take the text in the the text bar and add it into a pre defined weblink and replace a bit of text with that word in the search bar so the user types into the text bar for example they type in NAME HERE so when you click go it taxt for instance [URL] now how could i make it so when you hit the GO button that it takes the text in the textbox and and replaced REPLACE TEXT in the pre defined address and put NAME HERE into the address and then load it up with a web browser and also how would i make it open up with the web browser that the person is useing (since lods of people use diffrent web browsers)

I am trying to create a form that opens a text file and displays the text in the textbox on my form. I am supposed to use a function to get the string of text from the file. Then I am supposed be able to click a button to call on the function. I have to use the OpenFileDialog to get the file and the path of the file can be anything (it is not a certain file). I am making a recipe book that calculates the amounts of each ingredient needed for a dinner.The user inputs the number of people they are cooking for and then my program works out the amounts of ingredients needed, simply by * number of people.I know how to read from text files using commands such as: My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllText()But does anyone know how to take text for a text file, then multiply the contents of that file by the number of people?The text file only stores numbers, but I want to multiply each line seperately..Instead if getting the result of 10050*3, I want 100*3 and 50*3 on a seperate line.[code]For this to work, I suggest downloading the full project.You will also need to create a folder with two text files inside it. Well, I have a MenuStrip1 with submenu "Open File1" and "Open File2".
An OpenFileDialog1, two RichTextboxes and a button called "Check".
When I open txt files into RichTextboxes, by clicking the check button i want it to compare the two contents and focus the differents with a color (let's say yellow).
I have created a simple project and at the end it only says with a MessageBox if files are the same or different.

So I have made a text editor using rich text boxes and it is made to save/open rtf files. I have 3 issues I was hoping to get answers for...
1. Can I (and if so how) make it able to open/save text files and rtf files (so the user can choose which way to save it)?
2. I added the ability to color the words, but instead of coloring just the highlighted parts - it colors everything in the file. How do I change that so it only colors selected text?
3. I also added the dialog for Font changes, but it does not seem to work correctly. I want it to change font/size/etc of whatever is selected. Right now when I highlight stuff and then go into Font it allows the dialog box but does not actually change the font size/type/etc in the file it has open.

I have many text files in a folder. What I can do now is to read through one text at a time and insert it into the database. My little app reads a text file when I debug it. So, I need to run it several times to read all those text files and import them into the database.

Any simple/easy (emphasis on easy, I am a major beginner) to read through text files quickly, search for strings and pull information. I am currently using the 'StreamReader' function and 'InStr' command, but the files I am working with are gigantic and this is taking from 1/2 an hour to a few hours to work its way through.
