VB - Pops Up A Color Picker Dialog And Let User To Change The Background Color Of The Label
Feb 15, 2012I have a question of VB event handler and color picker. Now I have a label, and I want when user click it, it pops up a color picker dialog and let user to change the background color of the label. Not sure how to implement this, can anyone give me a direction?

I'd like to do that in my application but can't find the answer on how you do it.
To change the backcolor on a textbox, the user double clicks the box and it shows the color dialog.
I think I have all the properties set right -- fully open to show custom colors etc.
BUT, it doesn't show the current color.
They all have 0 0 0 rgb.

Use Color Dialog To Return Color As String?
Jun 11, 2011How can i use the color dialogue to return the color selected as a string? So if i was to select red i would like the return to be "Red" and so on so fourth.Another thing i would like to ask is if it is possible to return the color selected as a string in hex color code form (like what is used in HTML for example #FFFFFF, #000000 and so on so fourth).I have a feeling though that it can only be returned as R G B integers but maybe there is a way of converting these to hex color codes?

Oct 23, 2011I am developing an attendance count system, where all the registered student in a class are shown in a listbox. But I want to show name of the students who are currently present in a may be GREEN color, and all other students in RED color by default. I can get the index of a each items but controlling only some of the items seems difficult to me.
Say list is looking this way,

Warda
Bappy
Devid
Lina
Now only ataur and bappy are present, [I received a string data from my hardware that confirms that they are in present ] from the database I can get the their id and from the listBox I can get the index as well. Now how do I change the forColor of only these two not others?

What I would like to do is change the forecolor of the selected name so when the combo box is clicked again any name that has been selected is red, and unselected names are still black. I have only been able to set the forecolor for all the name after a selection is made.

Now, the problem is that when I click on Button1 on Form3 it shows Form2 but the Form2 BackColor is not red, it is default color, A.K.A Control Color. But I specified in Button1 on Form1 that Form2.BackColor is Red. And also if I click on Button1 on Form2 when Form3 shows it, the Form3 BackColor is also default, it is not red.
I know one way to solve it but it is so not-professional. It is that you add on Button1 on Form2 this:
Form3.BackColor = Color.Red
and on Button1 on Form3 this:
Form2.BackColor = Color.Red
It is ok in this situation but what if I have more stuff, for example if I have an option for changing theme so it has to change all labels and buttons ForeColor, what then, is there any other way?
