Why can't VB.NET Express 2008 change the ForeColor of ListViewSubItem?I see posts on the internet setting oListViewSubItem.UseItemStyleForSubItems = False but VB.NET Express 2008 does not have this property.

But I want to show name of the students who are currently present in a may be GREEN color, and all other students in RED color by default. I can get the index of a each items but controlling only some of the items seems difficult to me.
Say list is looking this way,

Warda
Bappy
Devid
Lina
Now only ataur and bappy are present, [I received a string data from my hardware that confirms that they are in present ] from the database I can get the their id and from the listBox I can get the index as well. Now how do I change the forColor of only these two not others?

Now, the problem is that when I click on Button1 on Form3 it shows Form2 but the Form2 BackColor is not red, it is default color, A.K.A Control Color. But I specified in Button1 on Form1 that Form2.BackColor is Red. And also if I click on Button1 on Form2 when Form3 shows it, the Form3 BackColor is also default, it is not red.
I know one way to solve it but it is so not-professional. It is that you add on Button1 on Form2 this:
Form3.BackColor = Color.Red
and on Button1 on Form3 this:
Form2.BackColor = Color.Red
It is ok in this situation but what if I have more stuff, for example if I have an option for changing theme so it has to change all labels and buttons ForeColor, what then, is there any other way?

How do I go about specifying Color.Argb(193, 218, 248) as the text color? Please advise as I have searched all night online and have not been successful as of yet.

i'm using Vs 2008 express edition, and i want to change the icon of my app, i used paint to create my ico file, and even been able to use that icon to a folder. My icon doesn't have any transparency or alpha channel at all.
2 question: my app creates and edits .gd files, and in order to read and load the file, i have a sub (sub loadfile), and an openfiledialog, the loadfile then uses the openfiledialog.filename, to load the chosen file. But i want users to be able to click the file, choose openwith, and open it with my app, the problem is i don't know how to open that file, of this way. [Code]

I've got a theme system in my program that works excellently. The only issue I'm running into with it is that the Forecolor of the menustrip and statusstrip remain at the default white. Even when I add in a button to change it manually for debugging, nothing happens and it remains white. There's no code that would change it, and I've replaced the menustrip just in case something was wrong with the control, but no dice.
I even tested it in another project, and it worked fine. Within my theme designed, the preview menustrip's forecolor changes fine as well. Something's wrong and is making it so that I can't change the menustrip/statusstrip's forecolor :I
I've found my life greatly eased by having given up on ListView. DataGridView is by far the better way to go. I wish I listened early on to the suggestion of someone here who recommended it.
