Changing WebBrowser Control Contents Before First Render

Aug 10, 2006

This problem is with the WebBrowser component. The code posted below is what I am trying to insert into the control before it renders the page for the first time. This question actually stems from this post: [URL]. I am developing the application in C#, however the problem is not really language specific.

When I have a page that has a javascript call to:
window.print()
I am wanting to override the print method so that pages do not pop up the print dialog. I can do so by inserting this into the top of the html:
window.print=function emptyMethod() {};

I now just need to figure out how to get this code into the document html before the browser control renders it for the first time. I have tried a number of things (for a complete list, see the post listed above), all with no success.

Webbrowser Control And Changing Size?

Aug 20, 2008

I am creating a program with a web browser component, and a tab control. Default, the web browser is anchored to the toolbar. In my program there is an option to make a toolbar at the top of the form visible.false. Is there a way to make the web browser anchor to the top of the tab control when the toolbar is not visible, and anchor to the toolbar when the toolbar is visible?? I have experimented with docking (fill) but then parts of the web browser become covered by the toolbar and status bar. I am still relatively new to visual basic 2008 so if you could please explain or provide code.

Changing The UserAgent Of The WebBrowser Control -Winforms C#

Jun 2, 2009

I am trying to change the UserAgent of the WebBrowser control in a Winforms application.

I have successfully achieved this by using the following code:

[DllImport("urlmon.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)]
private static extern int UrlMkSetSessionOption(
int dwOption, string pBuffer, int dwBufferLength, int dwReserved);

[Code]....

The only problem is that this only works once. When I try to run the ChangeUserAgent() method for the second time it doesn't work. I stays set to the first changed value. This is quite annoying and I've tried everything but it just won't change more than once.

Render WebBrowser To Bitmap?

Nov 12, 2011

Dim formTest1 As FormTest = New FormTest()
formTest1.Show()
Dim htmlDocument As mshtml.IHTMLDocument2 = DirectCast(WebBrowser1.Document.DomDocument, mshtml.IHTMLDocument2)
If htmlDocument IsNot Nothing Then

[Code]...

I want to copy the contents of a WebBrowser to a Bitmap. The above code seems to reproduce a part of the image but not all of it.

1) I'm sure I don't understand this completely so my comments probably have terminology that is not completely correct. I would really appreciate it if you could edit them and maybe add a little to them.

2) And, of course I'd like to know how to improve the code.

.net - Render Control To Html Produces A Different String?

Jul 7, 2010

I am trying to render a hyperlink to html. ( etc)

When the page loads it works fine. (and lots 10 links) on the update panel it hits the same function and tries to get another 10 links. I set the navigationURL to something like

"../Folder/Mypage.aspx?498592ghjgfosdfgo"

It is set identically both times(load and updatepanel postback) but when i try to render it to html the second time (on the update panel) it adds "../" to the front so i end up with

"../../Folder/Mypage.aspx?498592ghjgfosdfgo"

The function where it changes here

Public Shared Function RenderControl(ByVal c As Control) As String

Dim htmlw As New HtmlTextWriter(sw)

Does Changing Generic List Capacity Means Copying Contents?

Mar 31, 2009

If I increase the capacity of a given list, or add elements until count>capacity, does this mean the program is actually copying the entire list's contents to a new space in memory (similar to redim preserve with arrays)? If so, than I have really been hurting the performance of my lists, as before I was inserting and adding without a second thought. This seems a strong restriction on the dynamic abilities of lists.

WebBrowser - Show Preview Of Contents In Textboxes

Jul 2, 2010

I have been working on a program (obviously) I have several textboxes and a webbrowser. I want this webbrowser to show a preview of what you have so far in these textboxes. Up to now I have:

For Each ctrl As Control In Me.Controls
If TypeOf (ctrl) Is TextBox Then
WebBrowser1.DocumentText = CType(ctrl, TextBox).Text + WebBrowser1.DocumentText
End If
Next
End Sub

When I debug it everything is ok until I press preview. I type hello in each of the boxes. By the way all textboxes are small and positioned close together. So I type H in one box E L L O etc and i press preview. And H only appears in the preview. I press preview again then H appears Once Again.

Different Webbrowser Control - Web Based Apps Which Will Require A Webbrowser Extension

Aug 10, 2010

I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,

1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).

2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.

3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.

My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.

Changing The Behavior Of The Webbrowser Component?

Oct 12, 2009

I've tried to implement directory listing using the Webbrowser component, I dont need much, just to display some directories, be hable to click them and then be hable to see its contents and be hable to see the images and files inside. the problem is, the default behavior of the webbrowser component is, any directory link you try to click. it will inmediately make either IEXPLORER or MS Explorer to run (in a new window) and open the directory. I just want the webbrowser component to let navigate freely on directories. What can I do to implement this? Just to Clarify: I just want webbrowser to open the directories and files IN THE SAME WINDOW and to not run the MSexplorer like it does by default.

From HTML Content In A WebBrowser Control, Call Another Control?

Any way to do it without adding the complication of requiring ActiveX?
